09.01.2022 THE SHOW MUST GO ON!! KANGAROO VALLEY FOLK FESTIVAL WILL GO AHEAD ON SATURDAY 17TH OCTOBER After months of planning and weeks of wondering, organisers of the Kangaroo Valley Folk Festival have decided that this years popular music festival will go ahead.... While it is unknown what the gathering guidelines will be in October, the organisers are working on various scenarios that will cater to the circumstances and the community’s need to come together. As NSW starts to open up and the Shoalhaven district welcomes visitors after a catastrophic start to 2020, the Folk Festival will be a welcome event on the Spring Calendar. In its 14th year, the Festival is an annual event that takes over the famous Kangaroo Valley Showground and provides a rolling programme of music, poetry and dance for all ages. While committing to going ahead with the 2020 festival, it is likely that there will be some restrictions and so this year will be a jam packed single day/night event rather than the usual two days. With much of the arts community struggling under the closure of venues and impact of lockdown, the organisers feel it’s as important for the performers as it is for an entertainment-ready audience that the show will go on. In addition, the festival will provide much needed support for the KV retail, restaurant and accomodation businesses. It is anticipated that gathering numbers will be limited and tickets in demand so when early bird tickets go on sale in August, we suggest music lovers swoop.

01.01.2022 Tonight, at 6.00pm AEST right here on the Woodford Folk Festival Facebook page, Kristina Olsen will be here for a 30 minute live show as part of Woodfordian Art...ists: Live Online series. Kristina Olsen can certainly claim the badge of a Woodfordian veteran. She has enriched almost every facet of Woodfordian life with a different niche of her sprawling talents she’s performed at The Planting, at the Woodford Folk Festival, she’s hosted immersive songwriting workshops on the Artisan Camp in fact the only reason we haven’t managed to snag her for a tour is that this travelling singer-songwriter (pre-Covid) tends to spend upwards of half her typical year on the road, touring to festivals, workshops and music camps around the world. Our Woodfordian Citizens will know her from her regular editorial, Travels with Folding Bike, from our quarterly journal Lore Society. Kristina’s show is extra special tonight because this early to bed, early to rise folkie is getting up at 1am her time (she’s back in her home in California) to join us at our regular slot of 6pm AEST.
