18.01.2022 Our influenza vaccine has arrived at the pharmacy. Sarah will be in the pharmacy Monday and Tuesday to administer them. The new guidelines have allowed her to vaccinate those 10 years and older. COVID-19 may reach a peak around our winter flu season and being vaccinated helps to reduce the severity and spread of seasonal influenza. Influenza can lower a person’s immunity and make them more susceptible to other illnesses, such as COVID-19. Now is the time to come in for your flu shot appointment. That being said, those over 65 can get it free through their GP and it is a higher and the recommended immunology vaccine for their age.

14.01.2022 The Federal Government has launched a Coronavirus Australia app. The app has a symptom checker, offers advice and enables Australians to register their self-isolation status. Users also have access to health advice, news and media in real-time.

13.01.2022 Kangaroo Valley Pharmacy welcomes a new partner! Barry Hashemi and Sarah Jenkins of Kangaroo Valley Pharmacy recently welcomed Linda Rose-James as a partner to their business. Linda brings to the partnership over 20 years of experience as a pharmacist, having worked in a variety of retail and hospital pharmacy settings while raising her family in the Southern Highlands. Linda joins the team after being an employee at the pharmacy since 2018. She has enjoyed working alongside... Sarah and Barry as she shares their commitment to providing excellent health care in a friendly setting and their belief that quality health care begins with genuine care. Prior to studying Pharmacy, Linda attained a Bachelor of Science degree. Her study of anatomy and physiology was fuelled by a fascination for how the human body works and responds to the environment. Becoming a pharmacist was the next step in helping people achieve better health. Linda is motivated to helping people understand their bodies well in order to improve their health and wellbeing. The opportunity to speak directly with every customer at Kangaroo Valley Pharmacy is a privilege one that cannot be offered at much larger pharmacies. 13.01.2022 To our dear customers, those that are over 70, pregnant or with serious health conditions please do not leave your home or come into the pharmacy unless it is absolutely necessary. If you need something from the pharmacy, please either: - ring up to put an order in to collect from your car or be delivered - have a friend or family member pick it up for you - drop them off quickly and return later for them We are also inforcing a limit of 2 people only at a time in the pharmacy. If you see that the limit has been reached, please wait outside patiently

12.01.2022 We ask that if you need to come into the pharmacy and you are displaying flu like symptoms please ring ahead to talk to us about your symptoms aswell as talk about your course of action. We want to protect our community and staff. Please be mindful despite your own views. Masks are recommended aswell if you cannot make a social distance of 1.5m between patrons. We have masks in stock in the pharmacy.

02.01.2022 While the vast majority of people are grateful that we have limited access to the pharmacy (for which we are very thankful for), it appears others aren't so understanding. Yes we are the only business in town that has done so, but we are not like other businesses. We are a healthcare facility and the only one in the area. We are doing so to protect our most vulnerable members of our community, as well as ourselves. People are coming to the pharmacy as they are requiring advic...e and medications for illnesses.... Possibly even for covid symptoms! They would not be attending another business for this service. We have limited staff members that work at the pharmacy, in fact only two. If we were to get infected, there is a high risk that pharmacy would not be able to open at all. By law, if there is no pharmacist on the premise, the pharmacy is not allowed to be open. Additionally, if we were to be infected with covid we would infect hundreds of people in just one day, including our community. We've attempted to open up the store more, but due to the small size of the pharmacy and the ignorance of some patrons to maintain social distancing, we have not been able to successfully do so. I hope you all can understand our reasoning behind our actions. We'd appreciate your patience when we are busy serving customers. We are trying our best given the current circumstances to provide such services. The healthcare system is under enormous pressure at the moment. If you would like to discuss things further, we are happy to do so and the owner will be in on Monday and Tuesday's at the pharmacy. Please stay safe everyone and we appreciate your understanding.
