25.01.2022 We know sometimes there are barriers that make it hard to leave the house to come to something like Kangatraining. We know how hard it is to get out the door w...hen you haven’t slept, or your baby hates the car, or you’re not feeling good about yourself, or your toddler won’t cooperate, or you’re not sure if it will be worth it. Over the next two weeks we’re going to share with you the stories of five Kangamums and all the doubts that might run through your mind about getting out of the house for something like Kanga. Right now, it’s more important than ever for parents to get out and connect with other parents; to move, to talk, to dance, to have fun. Please help us share our stories to encourage parents right across Australia right now to get involved. If you’re still restricted at home, virtual classes are available. Otherwise, all of our trainers are ensuring we have best practice measures in place to ensure your safety for face to face classes. We understand your anxiety and worry about coming, but trust us when we say they’ll disappear the moment you walk in the door. It's what we're all about. And you will he SO GLAD you came. X

16.01.2022 This is womanhood/sisterhood/motherhood at its best. This is a training program where mums are encouraged to bring their babies and their learning is juggled ar...ound their needs. This is training that educates women about their postnatal needs and how to improve the function and strength of their bodies and then help other women to do the same. This is a course that empowers women to build a career that is worthwhile, challenging and fun. This is a career that enables women to have complete flexibility to work around the needs of themselves and their family. This is a community where we lift each other up and work as a team and not in competition. At the Kangatraining Instructor Course you will see women helping each other, get through this together. You will see women thriving. Kangatraining is a safe and fun postnatal workout you can do WITH your babies and every day our Kangatrainers train, empower, educate and support women all across Australia with virtual and face to face classes. *It’s not too late to join our final Kangatraining Instructor Course for 2020. **You don’t need to be a woman or a mother to be a great Kangatrainer, you just need to work with us on our mission.

10.01.2022 MATERNAL MENTAL HEALTH WEEK 2019 This week we will be taking some time to look at MUMS and specifically their well-being. Kick starting with the post below. ...‘Everyone wants to hold the baby, but who holds the mum?’ Powerful. Becoming a mother, for the first time especially, but also after every subsequent baby, is a huge transition for a woman. Her life will never look quite the same again each time. Inundated with visitors, trying to look like she’s on top of things, trying to get to know her new bundle, figuring out feeding, trying to keep the rest of the home running, smiling for people who come in the door, thinking of conversation, trying to have enough in the tank emotionally for her new baby, her partner, any other children, all while her body is exhausted and healing. It’s no wonder a mum’s emotional tank can run so low. When you visit a mum, make HER a cup of tea. Ask her how SHE is, not just the baby. Give her a hug. Look into HER face and tell her how wonderful she is. Bring some cake or a treat for her. Don’t overstay your welcome, she will be exhausted no matter what she says! Bring dinner for her and her family. Bring a card saying ‘well done’. Bring flowers. If you are a close friend or close family member, offer to help around the house if she would find that a blessing (people vary, some might not but some would jump at the chance). Hang out her washing. Wash up. Encourage her to sit while you look after HER for half an hour. Come ready to bless her and serve her, not just to stare at this new babe. New life is truly miraculous, but so is the one who brought it into being. The Mum. The one who so often gets missed in the aftermath. #_grobrain #maternalmentalhealthweek #maternalmhmatters #lookingaftermumtoo #mumsmatter #youmatter #emotionalwellbeing #mentalhealth #holdmumtoo

08.01.2022 Kanga is Life Let’s start at the beginning. The moment you became a mum. You created a human and gave birth to it. There is no doubt it’s one of life’s greates...t milestones, a #blessing, you’re #grateful, it’s incredible and a total miracle and all of that. But let’s talk about the other stuff. Let’s skip forward to that time immediately after your baby has been placed in your arms. You’re bleeding and sore. You’re shocked and shaking. You feel like you’ve been in a car crash. But yet it’s a time of total celebration. Everyone around you is still them. But you’re no longer you. Your body has changed, your responsibilities, your every waking moment is different. You’re wearing giant unfamiliar knickers with a huge pad filled with ice. Strangers are holding your boobs and commenting on your nipples and feeling your tummy and checking your vagina. You have a baby who needs you every second of every day. And the days and nights go on with no beginning and no end. And you don’t even know who you are. Your sentences don’t even come out right. You continue to be grateful. But everything is a blur. And then the days turn in to weeks and you realise you’re lonely and you think maybe you’d like to start venturing out with your baby. Maybe even exercise. Maybe even socialise. But the effort feels insurmountable. Everyone else has it so together. It’ll be you with the screaming baby, with the milk leaking and no clothes that fit. It will be you who does something ‘wrong’ with the baby that everyone will judge. It’s too hard. You don't know where you belong in this new World. But your friend told you about Kangatraining and that you have to try it so one day, when you’re feeling just okay, you go to the massive effort to make it to a class. You walk in the room and you’re welcomed with the big beaming smile of the instructor. And she tells you what to expect from the class. She tells you that you and baby are priority so you can tend to your babies needs or your own at any time. The room is buzzing with smiling, chatting mums and babies being babies; feeding, smiling, crying, crawling, laying and chatting. You tell the instructor you’re unco and not very fit and don’t know how to use a carrier and she tells you 'we all start there' and that you’re in good hands. She tells you she’s unco too and she’ll help you use the carrier. You feel at ease. And you start with the warm up and already you can’t wipe the smile from your face as your baby smiles at you while you’re dancing. And then you do floor work and you feel safe and it feels good to be doing something for you. And your baby is right there with you. And then the instructor helps you get your baby in the carrier and you wait for him to cry but he doesn’t. He already looks calm and drowsy. And then you dance and you squat and you workout and everything feels okay. You’re smiling. Your mind takes you to memories of dancing with friends in another life. You hadn’t even noticed that your baby has been asleep the whole time. You didn’t even notice you’d missed half the steps because it just didn’t matter. You’re puffing and you’re sweaty and you’re laughing and you're happy. And at the end of class you stand in a circle with your sweaty hair and sleeping babies and you talk. There’s so much laughing and so many relatable moments. There’s even tears. And there’s relief. That you’re all in this together. And the instructor asks if anyone wants to go for coffees across the road and you go and the laughing and the smiling and the relief continues. You get home three hours later and you feel different. No, you feel like you. You finally, feel like you. One of our trainers wrote on a post this week Kanga is Life and I thought that a lot of people wouldn’t know what that meant. So I wanted to explain it. This certainly isn't everyone's story. But it's a common one. And this is why for some people Kanga is a fun workout that you can do with your baby. For some, Kanga is Life.
07.01.2022 Check out our awesome new trainers in their new Tulas
06.01.2022 Remember leaving the house before you had kids? Purse, keys, phone, out the door. Now, sometimes it feels impossible. Nappies, wipes, spare clothes...where are the damn keys? And so many scenarios to prepare for. So many variables and unknowns.... What if he screams the whole time? What if I’m the only one who doesn’t have it together? What if he pukes or poos all over me? Or someone else? Add a toddler in the mix and trying something unknown and sometimes it feels like it would just be easier to stay home. But being alone with that fear and those feelings doesn’t help anyone. At Kangatraining you’ll feel welcomed and supported the moment you walk in the door. You’ll see instantly that we’re all in this together. We know the challenges you’re facing day to day because we face them too. You’ll meet other parents, you’ll move your body to great music, you’ll gain strength, fitness and friendship and most of all... you’ll have fun. You owe it to yourself to try. And you’ll be so glad you came.
06.01.2022 We are on the hunt for a new Shep instructor! Do you know of anyone?

Wish me luck chasing around my 2.5 year old #laughingandcryingatthesametime #injuredmum
05.01.2022 WARNING LONG EMOTIONAL POST AHEAD I have being debating whether I write this or not but in light of it being #ruok? day this past week I thought it would be a good time to share my story. I just hope by sharing my story that others know that they aren’t alone. I have suffered from anxiety and depression since November 2018 but at the time I was so unaware that that is what it was. Randomly spewing on my way to work or events and not really knowing why, being so self conscious...Continue reading

03.01.2022 The Fourth Trimester. The fourth trimester requires you as a mother to surrender and let go. To allow each inhale and exhale to find its resting place. This t...ime is for you and your baby. Take this time to bond, heal and recover. Create room for this new life to adjust with you, on you and from you. Be in no rush, be in no race. Be courageous and be vulnerable - and ask for help. Many mothers in the fourth trimester face numerous complications: birthing problems, feeding issues, extreme sleep deprivation, big emotions, feeling overwhelmed and anxious during this vulnerable and precious time of new life. When it comes to motherhood women have always sought knowledge, wisdom, guidance and support from other women. We as mothers owe it to our sisterhood, our ‘soon to be’ and ‘yet to be’ mothers to emphasise the importance of this fourth trimester. We must encourage them to have this time without layers of guilt and overwhelming anxiety, so western society learns how important this time is for the mental and physical health of our mothers. When mothers are geographically separated from female family members and close friendship support this makes the fourth trimester all the harder. We must not leave any mother to stand alone - without a village. It is only through continued awareness and education that mothers will begin to receive the level of care they truly deserve; to set themselves up for a healthy and happy motherhood for themselves and their child.
