23.01.2022 Do you know what prolapse is? Téa had never heard of it until it happened to her. This occurs TOO often. With 50% of women experiencing prolapse in their lifetimes, birth injuries shouldn't be normalised or dismissed. We need to start these important conversations so that more birthing people aren't blindsided by their trauma whilst trying to care for their families and work.... Don't miss this critical conversation about impact of physical and psychological birth trauma and what can be done to ensure better outcomes for birthing parents and their families. Tonight at 8pm SBS INSIGHT. Thank you to Amy Dawes at Australasian Birth Trauma Association for starting the conversation.
22.01.2022 We tired. 28th KANGATRAINING INSTRUCTOR COURSE Melbourne, day 4 29th KANGATRAINING INSTRUCTOR COURSE Sydney, day 3... It’s an intense week and at this point our new instructors are normally feeling it physically and mentally. But they’re so close to the finish line and doing amazingly well! Almost ready to embark on their new career! Our Melbourne team learned all things women’s health with the fabulous Thuy from Kangatraining Craigieburn, Mickleham and Surrounds. Thuy is a practising Midwife when she’s not teaching Kanga. Then it was on to more practical training with National Team Leader Kylie. In Sydney the team continued with their practical training with our experienced Kangatrainer and fitness expert Alicia from Kangatraining Canberra, Inner city & Gungahlin. Huge day but smiles all around

21.01.2022 "Sophie was my FIRST ever Kangamum who signed up for classes when I became a Kangatrainer. When she first stepped foot into a class she was probably just as nervous as I was As the weeks went on we both grew with our confidence; Sophie in her motherhood journey & me with my new ‘career’. ... I’ve been fortunate to watch her get fitter and her baby get bigger & enjoyed watching friendships develop between other kangamums. We’ve shared moments of laughter, joy and even tears (mostly from me! ) but this is what Kangatraining is all about. It is a SAFE space! The time has come for Sophie’s kangatraining journey to come to an end but I am so honoured she took that leap of faith and joined our classes. Kangatraining is so much more than just an exercise class. It is a journey and celebration of this moment in your life! To all my past Kanga Mamas, please remember that Kanga will always be a safe place for you. The friendships made will be there to support you and celebrate with you for years to come. We all truly wish you all the best in this next phase of your life. No matter what, you will ALWAYS be a part of our Kanga Community." Kangatrainer Alison Kangatraining Doncaster, Templestowe & Surrounds
19.01.2022 "Some of our Term 1 Kanga graduates decided it was too hard in the real world, and have returned to Kanga for Term 2. The Kanga parties and Milk Bar after class is too good to miss." 18.01.2022 Listen up partners.... The below message is so important and I want to share from a Kanga perspective. Partner support or approval or even a partner is certainly not essential to being a Kangatrainer. ... But when I see a new Kangatrainer turn up to the course with a family member or person of support in tow, carrying the nappy bag or pushing the pram or just holding the trainer’s hand as they walk in to the unknown. Or know that they’re at home with older kids or on the phone offering their encouragement or support, I know that they get it. I know that this Kangatrainer is going to thrive because they have the support they deserve. On the other hand, I often have women so excited to do the course, asking all the questions, looking in to venues, planning their dream career only to eventually be met with ‘my husband said no, I can’t do the course’. And I wonder if that husband has really understood... all that this would have meant for his wife. Yes there is a financial investment and I get that that’s not something every family can afford, especially with one income down. But I wonder if they’ve factored in the lifestyle benefits. The mum’s ability to work with her baby. With no childcare fees. Her physical and mental health. And I wonder if they did how worth it it would be. So this post is for our Kangadads and other family members or friends who have supported our Kangatrainers through training and beyond. Thank you. It makes my heart sing when I see you helping these women do something so important. PS: men can be Kangatrainers too and we’ll happily support you PPS: OF COURSE you can do Kangatraining without the support of a partner and many do and thrive
17.01.2022 WHERE ARE YOU?? Can you take a moment to help us out please? It’s more important now than ever that we can reach mums across Australia and provide Kangatraining to as many people as we can in 2021.... Kangatraining is a safe postnatal workout mums can do with their babies. But we’re more than that. We offer community and support. We offer a place mums can bond with their babies and make friends all while improving the fitness and function of their postnatal body. In April we plan to train 24 new Kangatraining Instructors at our Melbourne and Sydney training to bring Kangatraining back to their local area and provide this amazing program to the mums in their community. There are loads of great places all over Australia that we’d LOVE to see Kangatrainers! We already have around 100 trainers who are here to support you but we need more. So here’s how you can help. - Please comment below to let us know where you’re from. If you’re looking for a local class we can help you find one. - If you don’t think there’s a trainer in your local area please share this post to help us find one! - feel free to tag any friends who might be keen to attend classes OR become an instructor themselves! There’s currently $100 off the course fee (extended until 15 Jan) If you’d like to know more just shoot us a DM and we’ll email you an info kit. Our Instructors are trained by Women’s health physio, Midwife, Babywearing consultant and fitness professionals and come from a range of backgrounds. THIS is what your new year needs

14.01.2022 This is Misha. Misha has been a Kanga Mum of Adelaide Hills since 2017 with her first little one Ella, followed by Matilda a year ago. "I love that I get to be active while cuddling my baby. It’s such a nice environment, where no one is being judged and Mums support each other. It gets me out of the house even on bad days and always lifts my mood. Coffees after are a nice bonus.... If you're thinking of starting Kangatraining, do it! It doesn’t matter if you’re the most uncoordinated person ever, no one really cares! You’ll get to be active, bond with your babe and socialise with other mums." We love reading testimonials about Kangatraining and the amazing team we have running our beautiful programs. Thank you to our Kangatrainer Chloe for creating a wonderful community for Mums. 14.01.2022 We know sometimes there are barriers that make it hard to come to something like Kangatraining. We know it can be overwhelming to get out of the house and try things like this after all the challenges thrown at you in 2020. We know how hard it is to get out the door when you haven’t slept, or your baby hates the car, or you’re not feeling good about yourself, or your toddler won’t cooperate, or you’re not sure if it will be worth it.... Over the next two weeks we’re going to share with you the stories of five Kangamums and all the doubts that might run through your mind about getting out of the house for something like Kanga. Right now, it’s more important than ever for parents to get out and connect with other parents; to move, to talk, to dance, to have fun. Please help us share our stories to encourage parents right across Australia right now to get involved. We understand your anxiety and worry about coming, but trust us when we say they’ll disappear the moment you walk in the door. It's what we're all about. And you will he SO GLAD you came. X

06.01.2022 ** TRIGGER WARNING ~ PREGNANCY LOSS ** Our hearts go out to @chrissyteigen and @johnlegend on hearing their heartbreaking news. #repost @chrissyteigen We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before. We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough.... . . We never decide on our babies’ names until the last possible moment after they’re born, just before we leave the hospital. But we, for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack. So he will always be Jack to us. Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever. . . To our Jack - I’m so sorry that the first few moments of your life were met with so many complications, that we couldn’t give you the home you needed to survive. We will always love you. . . Thank you to everyone who has been sending us positive energy, thoughts and prayers. We feel all of your love and truly appreciate you. . . We are so grateful for the life we have, for our wonderful babies Luna and Miles, for all the amazing things we’ve been able to experience. But everyday can’t be full of sunshine. On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it. Sending you both, Luna and Miles so much love and light for little Jack. If you have experienced pregnancy loss, you aren't alone. Please speak to someone. @stillbirthfoundation @pregnancylossawareness
06.01.2022 "Fun is something that should occur daily in life. Fun comes hand in hand with gorgeous smiles and bright eyes that light up faces and release that lovely dopamine. To me, fun is what keeps us motivated to achieve our goals. When we enjoy something, we tend to want more of that, and who wouldn’t want more of something that makes them happy? My journey as a Kangatrainer is all about creating a fun environment where caregivers can come find that happy moment in their day that m...ight normally be filled with a bit of mayhem, especially as a new parent (or parent of many!). I try to keep some punchy beats in our playlists to help us groove in our own fun way, and man do my mamas deliver! Sharing laughs, crazy wiggles, and cute kids brings those fun filled smiles and eyes to my classes, and I’m so grateful I get to be a part of it! I am very honoured to receive this award, but I owe a lot of it to the wonderful women who are full of joy in our classes. I may initiate those fun moves, but they reciprocate the atmosphere, and we all end in a level of comfort and happiness that I look forward to in each class." 03.01.2022 A huge day was had at Soul Space Brisbane today. Firstly we had adults finding their inner child in our third Kangatraining Kids Instructor course facilitated by Kareau from Kangatraining Kids Townsville The session focused on studying and practicing body awareness, co-operative training and creative movement. We can't wait to see what the new instructors bring to the creative play session tomorrow. ... We will introduce our six newest Kangatraining Kids Instructors over the coming weeks. This afternoon our newest Kangatrainers ran through a practical session covering our TUPLER floor work with the amazing Nat from Kangatraining Toowoomba. Nat has been part of the Kangatraining Australia team since 2014 and brings bags of fun and experience with her. So much fun, it was all too much for one little Kanga joey...
02.01.2022 I think Sara's face from Kangatraining Aldinga and Surrounds is exactly what our newsfeed needs this morning! Awesome message: Nothing like New Years Day to remind you of all your shortcomings, am I right? Social media is already blasting me about all the ways I can lose that mum tum and get my body back this year. Shred my body in 30 days, get abs, the best companies to buy weight loss shakes from and everyone under the sun pushing that New Years- New Me crap already! And h...ere I am waking up after a big night, exhausted, a little bit hungover, still wearing my makeup, bed hair and craving bacon and eggs for breakfast. No thanks. I don’t want to move my body for any reason other than because I enjoy it. Being a mum is hard enough without being told again and again that you need to ‘get that pre-baby body back’. My body didn’t go anywhere. It’s still here. A little squishier than it used to. A few more stretch marks than before. But it’s still here. Yes, eat well, exercise but do it because it’s good for you. Because you enjoy it. Because it makes your body feel good. Not because Instagram told you that you shouldn’t look the way you do. Not because you want to indulge in some Maccas occasionally and feel guilty. I am enough just the way I am and so are you! Don’t let social media fool you into thinking otherwise.
