25.01.2022 Kangatraining is LIIT While low impact is safe on your joints and pelvic floor (and keeps your baby safe), it doesn't mean Kangatraining is an easy workout! You will feel your entire body exercising in class as we go through different intervals of core work, cardio dancing, squats/lunges, more dancing, then strength exercises involving arms, legs and we finish with the most loved/hated exercise repeaters which will give you your final burn.... And then we finish with some gentle stretching and lots of chatting while our babies either snooze or play together Kangatraining Banyo & Surrounds

23.01.2022 Mine’s Bluey

23.01.2022 Yep as Brisbane enters a new lockdown (hopefully it stays at the 3 days ).

23.01.2022 One of the great parts of KangaMix is that you can either babywear or have your baby in the pram Or change from one to the other as these two lovely mums did! And they certainly felt their babys weight in the repeaters

23.01.2022 I find the hardest part of having another child is that the baby of the family is no longer the baby. Their world changes so quickly and it can often be such a difficult adjustment. I’m always thankful for babywearing for creating moments where everyone can feel loved, seen and acknowledged

22.01.2022 Another great class at Fun Fit Play We had 100% sleeping babies, excellent social distancing, a full body workout AND fantastic chats And then after the class, it was coffee and playtime for our babies/toddlers

21.01.2022 Every day! https://www.facebook.com/166674283377194/posts/3867233853321200/?d=n

20.01.2022 Motherhood is definitely easier when you have people to share and understand it with

20.01.2022 What was your FIRST baby carrier or the carrier that made you fall in love with babywearing? My love of babywearing happened 7 years ago with my first daughter While we had a few other carriers before the ring sling, it was really this one that changed babywearing for me! Once we mastered it, the ring sling was quick and easy, perfect for when she wanted to look around and my arms could no longer carry her and for naps she would be asleep before I had even finished tightening!

20.01.2022 Do you babywear and use the toilet???

20.01.2022 We had a few back carry graduates this week so I thought I would share my favourite way to get your older/toddler on your back safely AND by yourself https://fb.watch/1ZML39F7rN/

20.01.2022 Babywearing can be even MORE of a lifesaver with a high needs baby! Our first wasn’t exactly a high needs baby but she required a lot of touch and contact (still does)! Babywearing was her happy place where we could met her level of needs while I didn’t break my back and could do things! Miss Isla wasn’t as intense but leaps, growth spurts, developments, tiredness and sickness would mean that she needed more contact.... It can be so tiring and overwhelming and 1000% worth it https://www.facebook.com/100051360410981/posts/198742468514432/?d=n

20.01.2022 Only two days until our last Babywearing and You Open Day for the year and we still have a couple of spaces available It's hard deciding on which baby carrier is perfect for your family but our FREE Open Day makes it easy as you can: see over 20 different carriers in person by Tula, Ankalia, Fidella, Boba, Kokadi, Yaro, Manduca, Ergobaby baby and toddler sized carriers available... get expert advice to narrow down your options try 2-3 carriers to see which feels the best for you purchase on the day to also get your carrier professional fit for you and your baby Held in Manly West Brisbane and all you need to do is pm to secure your spot!

20.01.2022 Amazing! https://www.facebook.com//a.16810557754/2692669294332504/

20.01.2022 Todays KangaMix perspective is from Miss 3 As you can see, she enjoyed the scenery while being close to me And yes there were about 500 photos and videos of our walk Often babies are settled being outside and there are lots of trees, ducks and gorgeous views to enjoy! And when they are tired, our walking lulls them to sleep ... Want to join us next term? Our waitlist is now open https://wp.me/P7ymYn-g8

19.01.2022 Throwback to when the only way things would get done was with babywearing

18.01.2022 These are the most common fit issues in a soft structured baby carrier. Not only can they be a safety issue but they are also super uncomfortable which means that you and your baby miss out on the magic of babywearing. But they are easy to fix and get the best fit for you both It’s a flashback to a tiny Isla ... https://youtu.be/_VsyfHgiPlk

16.01.2022 A lot has changed since having babies especially finding time to have dates! Night time is always hectic with my girls (and lets be honest Im usually a exhausted from the day) and with limited baby sitter options, weve gotten creative and moved to DATE DAYS! Hubby takes a day off when the girls are in school and daycare and then we have a wonderful time at the movies and having lunch ... How do you get quality time with your partner since having babies?

16.01.2022 Throw back to a completely different time, person and world 10 years ago (according to Facebook ), we were on our grand travel adventure with our first destination to Thailand. This was pre-everything - marriage, kids, covid. We were totally different people then. No routine, no boundaries, limited responsibilities.... When we first had children, there was a time of adjustment and honestly a time of grief for the life we left behind. But there was also this new emerging person who I never expected. She struggled at times but loved this new life. Priorities and meaning shifted so quickly and so throughly that she might glance back but never wished for that life. She became so much more than this woman. She also became a mother. We had an amazing trip and I am so thankful for the experience but this life and adventure I’m living now, it’s my favourite one by far

15.01.2022 Babywearing Tip Did you know that you can roll the hood of your baby carrier to provide head and neck support for your baby?! It is a fantastic option as:... your babys airways are clear and they have access to fresh air babys head is not covered so you can easily check on them babys regulate their body temperature primarily through their head and in particular their face so keeping it uncovered helps protect your baby from overheating Come to Kangatraining class and I can help you get the most out of your baby carrier

12.01.2022 Babywearing while pregnant Do you? Have you? Can you? https://www.facebook.com/826752200784302/posts/3092231817569651/

12.01.2022 C-section is short for Caesarean Section. C-section deliveries can be planned or un-planned. During a C-section, an incision is made into your skin, through the fat cells, connective tissue, and into the abdominal cavity. The abdominal muscles are then spread apart and the bladder is moved down and out of the way in order to get to the uterus. There is an incision made into the uterus and the baby is guided out. The placenta is taken out shortly after. The uterus is then stit...ched up, the bladder put back in place, then connective tissue, the abdominals, and the skin stitched up, to varying degrees. We have a lot of layers of sutures and thus, scar tissue that will form. We want you to return to exercise safely after the birth of your baby. Our programs focus on strengthening muscles that were weakened during pregnancy, learning how your postnatal body can move and releasing those feel good endorphins. We want you to enjoy our beautiful programs with your little one after a c-section. Kangatraining is worth the 12 week wait! Words: Girls Gone Strong

12.01.2022 Are you and your baby ready to try a back carry but unsure how to do this safely and easily? A full buckle baby carrier is the easiest carrier to wear your baby on your back. And with a few simple steps, you can do it by yourself! So why back carry?... Back carry is amazing for so many reasons! Your front is free so you can do more A high back carry means that your baby or toddler can see easier It works your core It's perfect for when you feel touched out but your baby still needs cuddles Is so much more comfortable with heavier babies or toddlers especially if you have neck or back issues You can show and share the world with your baby Little legs still get tired even when they start walking so it is a great quick option Feels more comfortable for petit wearers or if you have a bigger baby and their bodies get in the way in front carry For my favourite way to get back carry - check out our article https://wp.me/P7ymYn-26Q

11.01.2022 Practicing for baby #3 and getting some pregnant belly support

11.01.2022 You forget about the newborn stage. Sure you know it was hard and tiring and the days and nights were so long they blurred together. But the specifics disappear and more of a haze memory happens. UNTIL you are back in it again.... I forgot how much time I am awake at night. How newborns can and often feed 1-2 hours. How you and your baby need to learn how to breastfeed together. How much trouble air and gas can be. How quiet and lonely it can be. How thankful you can be to an exciting TV show for keeping you awake (thanks Gray’s Anatomy). How there’s relief when the sun comes up as you’ve survived another night. Luckily I know that this phase won’t last forever. How quickly everything can change and how monumental an hours sleep can be! To all the families in the night time trenches - we got this

11.01.2022 We only have one week left of classes before we have a two week break (cause I may need it after carrying Miss 3 and belly baby in each Kanga class ). 07.01.2022 The Babywearing Squat never fails to get babies to sleep It babies to sleep can be tricky and hard sometimes but this is a great way to them to have a snooze and get a mini workout for you! Tip Make sure you provide head and neck support for them the whole time.... And for a safe postpartum squat - make sure your feet aren’t further than hip width apart (to protect your pelvic floor) - bend upper body slightly forward - weight on your heels - keep a straight back as you squat and - knees stay behind toes Remember to listen to your body and stop if you feel any pain or feel uncomfortable! The baby carrier I am using is the Tula Explore in Rainbow Dust

07.01.2022 Babywearing can be such a learning curve and one of the most surprising parts can be where your waist strap goes especially with a newborn or little baby! It is really common to initially put on your waist strap on your hips but this means that your baby is too low which can be a safety risk. Following the TICKS guidelines for babywearing safety we want our baby to be Close enough to kiss. A great tip is to try and replicate how we carry them in arms and position the wai...st strap where their bum goes. You can see in the picture that Ive put the strap on under my bust/on ribs to get the same positioning. This allows for more comfortable positioning for you and your baby safe position for your baby as you can monitor them easily better communication together Not sure where what your baby carrier position should be? Check out our article which goes through positioning up to a preschooler and in back carry https://babywearingandyou.com.au//baby-carrier-positioning/ TICKS (Babywearing safety) stands for Tight In view at all times Close enough to kiss Keep chin off chest Supported back

06.01.2022 With my first I tried different ways to workout but I didnt have much luck! No babysitter meant no choice but to workout together. We tried home workouts but she was not one to sit and watch and it just wasnt safe to do with her in my arms. Gym with a crèche didnt work as she just didnt stop crying ... the closest we got was a Mums and Bubs Pilates class but it ended in embarrassment when I got asked not to come back to a Mums and Bubs class because she was crawling A MUMS & BUBS CLASS!!! And then I found Kangatraining Kangatraining is 1000000% not like that! We understand if your baby is being a baby Ive never met a baby who didnt love babywearing snuggles and most will happily sleep or just enjoy being with you Its a great workout while also being postnatal safe And where else can you be cuddled while working out AND get to meet other amazing women! https://babywearingandyou.com.au/kangatraining-brisbane-ea/

06.01.2022 For all parents, having a baby is a huge transition and major life changer. Finding something that can make the transition and parenting in general easier definitely helps! For me, I really discovered all the benefits of babywearing when my first daughter was four months old and went through that major developmental leap All she wanted to do was be held in my arms and with my dodgy back I quickly started looking for options to meet her needs and to save my back.... Not only did babywearing save my back, I also found the ease and joy that it could bring to my day. For mums, there are specific benefits just for us Check out more in our article https://babywearingandyou.com.au//babywearing-benefits-mu/

03.01.2022 Babywearing in Summer Theres no escaping the heat (although air conditioning helps) and babywearing is still an essential part of day to day parenting so how do you babywear in summer? There are special consideration for babies as they are more affected by hot weather. They cant adjust to changes in temperatures as well as adults, they sweat less which means they have a reduced ability to cool down and they generate more heat in physical demanding activities. ... There are actually a few benefits of babywearing in summer including that our bodies are thermo-regulating and will help baby to regulate, it is easier to monitor them than if they were in the pram and a covered pram is actually 15 degrees hotter than the outside temperature! Ive gone through the main areas to consider when babywearing: DRESSING YOUR BABY > Always remember that the baby carrier is considered another layer so take that into consideration when dressing bubs. It can be tempting to dress baby in just a nappy but often having another layer between the two of you can help wick any moisture or sweat away and protect more of babys body from the sun or wind > Light, natural fibre clothing (such as cotton or linen) are great options for you both > Try to reduce the amount of skin to skin contact which can feel hotter and sweaty > Bring a change of clothes as often you both will be sweaty when you take off the carrier and this will make the day more comfortable for you both SUNSMART Stay indoors in the hottest and sunniest part of the day Try and avoid the sun as much as possible. Using an umbrella will cover you both or a wide brimmed hat for often covers both of you. A light baby hat is also a good option. You can always use a light muslin cloth to go around the outside of the carrier to protect babys arms and legs from the sun while allowing airflow. This helps in windy areas to protect from windburn. ACCESS TO AIR > Not only do babies do most of their regulating of temperature through their head and face, it is also important to ensure they have adequate airflow > If you are going to use the hood, either roll it and then attach so babys head is mostly clear or just attach the hood one the side of the back of their head so their face is clear MONITORING Check your baby often for signs of overheating (warm to touch, red face, temperature but no sweating, lethargic, dizzy/confused, vomiting) Check in with yourself, if you are feeling hot so will your baby You and your baby will need to drink plenty of fluids to replace anything sweated out To see more head to https://babywearingandyou.com.au/art/babywearing-in-summer/
