19.01.2022 C-section is short for Caesarean Section. C-section deliveries can be planned or un-planned. During a C-section, an incision is made into your skin, through the fat cells, connective tissue, and into the abdominal cavity. The abdominal muscles are then spread apart and the bladder is moved down and out of the way in order to get to the uterus. There is an incision made into the uterus and the baby is guided out. The placenta is taken out shortly after. The uterus is then stit...ched up, the bladder put back in place, then connective tissue, the abdominals, and the skin stitched up, to varying degrees. We have a lot of layers of sutures and thus, scar tissue that will form. We want you to return to exercise safely after the birth of your baby. Our Kanga programs focus on strengthening muscles that were weakened during pregnancy, learning how your postnatal body can move and releasing those feel good endorphins. 18.01.2022 REGISTRATION links below OPEN NOW Monday and Thursdays 10:40am at Eaton Recreaton Centre! - Beyond Birth With Baby / ft Kangatraining What do we actually DO at a Kangatraining class? Workout while our babies and toddlers enjoy being close!... Classes generally run for 1hour (the first couple of classes can take longer with carrier fittings, admin and learning new steps) and begin with a warmup, followed by floor work holding our babies. Once the babies have had a stretch & some awake time during the floor work, we pop them up in the carriers and get into some dancing to get our heart rate up and test our coordination with a few moves. Did you know- Most mamas who come to Kangatraining worry about their coordination? Don't! It's totally normal for it to go out the window after pregnancy & birth and is just about having fun & being with your baby- getting the steps right doesn't matter one bit. Between the dance & cardio tracks we also do squats & lunges, work our arms, barre exercises and repeaters. Finishing up with stretching, a group chat and the all important pelvic floor exercises. 14.01.2022 MAKING MUM FRIENDS Let’s talk about it. Were you pregnant the same time as your friends?... Or did you hit it off with your parents group? Or were you left a little lonely and stumbling around in the World or ‘awkwardly seeking out mum friends?’ Just like all the other phases in your life you’re not always going to instantly hit it off with every other parent you meet. Meaning that sometimes you have to put yourself out there a little. At Kangatraining we are all about helping you make friends and connecting you with other parents in your community. Because we’ve all been there. In fact, making friends is often a motivating factor when people sign up to be a Kangatrainer! So how does this happen? Well we start by creating a warm, welcome, judgement free zone, that’s inclusive of all parents. The class is fun. And people who come to class are there to have fun and get fit with their babies, no matter what your fitness level. So you’re already hanging out with a bunch of likeminded and friendly peeps. At the end of the class we have a circle chat while we finish off our stretching. This means we take the awkwardness out of the intros by helping you get to know each other in a safe space. Sometimes we laugh, sometimes we cry. Sometimes we just talk about what we’re watching on TV. And then at the end of class we go for coffee catch ups or just hang out and chat. Sometimes we plan get togethers, movie nights and picnics and even those in lockdown are having the odd coffee catch up or wine night via Zoom. As Kangatrainers we are so lucky to have met new mates who have helped us through this phase of our lives, through to soul sisters we’ll have forever and we’ve watched the same thing happen with our Kangamums. We’d love you to give one of your Kangamum mates a shout out in the comments below And while this post is mostly about the mamas, we occasionally make some pretty rad kangadad mates too.

01.01.2022 It look's like a trend but do you even get a good workout? WoW!! 123BPM average and 166 BPM high. 472 calories incinerated. Put this in perspective - 1 hr calorie burn Bikram Yoga - 330... 1 hr calorie burn Body Balance - 390 30 minute Grit Strength HIIT workout - 400 This workout 1 hr - Kangatraining - cuddling your sleeping baby - 472 1 hr BodyPump class - up to 560 We didn't set out this morning to focus on calorie burn or heart rate highs but one of our gorgeous Kangamumma's showed her smart watch and you simply can't argue with that. In fact we were surprised because we just have so much fun. This is fabulous because you can see in the graph the portion of class that is floor and core work (you can see the first bit is a longer floor work session) Kanga core work is geared toward engaging and restrengthening to core body postpartum and beyond, to have great posture and the strength to lift baby and do life with ease. It also helps restoring the abdominal wall post C section and even as safe if you suffer DRAM (Diastasis Recti) In this portion you really aren't looking for a high heart rate. You can see the second block of work where we get up and pop bub safely in carrier (you don't even need any wrapping skills and experience), and enjoy dancing with our bubs (you don't even need dance coordination or experience) - This is where your heart rate will lift for cardiovascular exercise - the best bit is - it's fun! its chill, and bub falls asleep often while you workout without even realizing it. During this larger block we have resistance strength training with our sleeping bubs - weighting our squats with perfect lbs Toward the end of this workout you can see spikes in intensity with work for core/arms, Barre (core/legs) and even the kicker at the end REPEATERS. then the drop of intensity where we really focus on the pelvic floor aspect.
