24.01.2022 Keeping fit and healthy to live your best life! This week I have been moving heavy-ish boxes and began to dismantle the kids playground that had become dangerous. The boxes contain the kids new playground set, which thanks to things I have learnt due to Kanga, I could lift and carry safely to the backyard. Kanga is loads of fun we don’t even notice learning to squat safely and breath correctly. Holding my arms up to support a beam that is being undone - easier thanks to arm...s tracks. Learning in general how to protect my pelvic floor and core when doing different day to day activities This is Functional training that can be applied in so many regular situations. While I wouldn’t recommend moving heavy boxes, dismantling and building playgrounds in the pre/early post natal period, what we do and learn at Kanga does not have to stop!
24.01.2022 Parenthood doesn't come with a manual. It comes with parents supporting parents. We are better together. 21.01.2022 We have had an amazing term at Kangatraining, introducing Kangatraining Kids classes and adding extra sessions to handle demand after a turbulent year. To all the families who joined us this year I want to say a huge Thank You! Kangatraining relies on wonderful people like you to build our community, support each other and bring amazing spirit each and every class. We have had some hurdles this year and you have all been so supportive and patient while we navigated the chang...es, learnt new technologies and then came back with restrictions. This term has been massive, with 8 sessions running each week heading into a busy time of year. I have loved watching your babies grow, the kids learn our routines and explore the Midi and Tiny sessions, and of course meeting you and watching friendships grow. For some this was the first time their little ones met other babies and left the house regularly, becoming a much needed support for our Mums. We will be taking a short break over the Christmas and New Year period, coming back in just a few weeks with Holiday Friday sessions before starting Term 1 2021 on Feb 1. Stay tuned for registrations opening! #kangatraining #newmums #kangatrainingkids #friendship #supportlocal #penrithproud #fitness #exercise #movement
21.01.2022 Self Care Bingo time! If you get a chance try to get in some time for you during the busy Christmas/holiday period, it can be as simple as a quick meditation or walk in the park or something a bit more committed like a massage, art class or night away. Sometimes self care can feel like just another thing to squeeze in and schedule, another chore and that is ok if that is where you are in life right now! I have tried to find some ideas that can be impromptu or easy to do wit...h a toddler or baby in tow, engaging with them to help refill your cup. You may find that a few things on here are just not your idea of relaxing, you can change it up as you like to do the things you enjoy. Let me know if you manage to tick anything off!
21.01.2022 Awesome giveaway from a wonderful local company!

We do chaos, the kids did a pretty good job this though, helps they can reach higher now We have a mix of standard store bought stuff, some handmade small business made and handmade kids stuff. ... I love seeing everyone’s trees, they don’t have to be fancy or anything!

13.01.2022 The last few weeks my family and I have been enjoying some quality time together after a hectic 2020. Mr Kanga has been on holidays from work so we had a wonderful chance to slow down and do some fun things! Christmas and New Years is a really busy time for us with multiple families to see and 3 birthdays in 4 days, so we have had the chance to have 1 slow week before we start back with work, daycare and heading into the new school term. I would love to see what you have be...en up to, I am sure there are some hidden gems we have not found yet! As of next week we are back with our Holiday sessions on Fridays, then onto Term 1. This term has a bit of a different start, with Kangatraining back from Feb 1 and Kids sessions back from the next week, Feb 8. As always, if you have any questions please let me know! My inbox is always open.
13.01.2022 Come and visit me and all these other amazing stall holders tomorrow!
12.01.2022 Toddler wearing- do you wear your toddler/bigger kids? ‘Babywearing’ can extend so much further than the first year of babyhood and it can be a wonderful tool in your parenting tool belt. We love the connection, keeping them safe in busy situations and it can be an all areas pass to places with limited access. I can hear everything she is saying and easily point things out, exploring the world around us together. ... Make sure your carrier is suited to older children, there are many toddler/preschool carriers on the market with higher weight limits and larger panel sizes to comfortably and safely carry your older child. If you aren’t used to carrying them try starting with shorter times up and build up, though they may decide this for you with quick ups and downs as they want to explore. I still keep my ring sling in the car for the odd occasion that we are caught out with her wanting to be carried and having packed anything! It truly saves the arms and back if you have any questions or would like some ideas for toddler worthy carriers let me know!
12.01.2022 Hello December, where did you come from? Each year we get a new noisy Christmas toy to put around our tree, this year we adopted this little guy! It is a bit of a tradition for us, started with my Grandma and some singing, dancing ones (I think there was Santa and a reindeer) many many years ago. I remember helping my mum put batteries in every year and taking them out before packing them away. What traditions do you have? Do you carry on family traditions or starting something new with your family?
12.01.2022 Babies and sleep, something that comes up in nearly every conversation. Every baby has their own normal, but if they don’t follow the ‘rules’ it can feel like you are failing or your baby is broken. My babies loved snuggle naps and carrier naps, though somehow they would sleep a bit in their cot or on a bed at Nanna’s. I enjoyed the quiet time cuddling them, knowing it wouldn’t be forever amd it would never come again. Where does your bub love to nap? Are you dreading the h...oliday catch ups full of questions? (This is no way a judgement on any parent, we all do things our own way. )
12.01.2022 Hello from Luddenham Country Market today! 11.01.2022 Quiet Sunday night movie! What are you up to tonight? Watched anything awesome lately?
11.01.2022 Washing and prepping hire carriers has become a bit of a routine over the years. The number of hires I have in any term ebbs and flows, sometimes 1, other times 7+ each week. Keeping a stash of Kanga suitable carriers means anyone can attend Kanga and be assured of a comfortable, well fitted carrier. They are washed on a cool, gentle cycle in a wash bag/pillowcase with liquid detergent and hung to dry. If you aren’t sure about washing your carrier and would like some help let me know! Most carriers are perfectly fine to go into your washing machine and we all know they do need a wash now and then!
11.01.2022 Psst... check this out!
11.01.2022 Our second lot of bags off to be donated for women in need thank you to all the amazing women who donated bags and items to go in them.
11.01.2022 As the weather warms up we often get asked how to keep cool or what carrier is the coolest. The honest answer is babywearing is and will always be hot and sweaty in the heat but there are ways we can keep cooler. Dress in light clothing, a bodysuit for bub and high neck singlet for you (reduces skin to skin sweaty-ness on the chest)... Keep to the shade as much as possible Wear a wide brimmed hat for you (or an umbrella works too) and a hat with a soft brim for bub. Keep up your water intake Try an off centre carry or back carry if your baby is ready for it, chest to chest is the hottest position. A cooling towel can be used with babies over 6 months old ( I have a very limited number in stock) Take turns wearing bub with another adult I always try to keep a change of clothes for bub in case we go from hot and sweaty to somewhere with the air con pumping to avoid that chill. Keep the conditions in mind and wear away!

09.01.2022 I think Sara's face from Kangatraining Aldinga and Surrounds is exactly what our newsfeed needs this morning! Awesome message: Nothing like New Years Day to re...mind you of all your shortcomings, am I right? Social media is already blasting me about all the ways I can lose that mum tum and get my body back this year. Shred my body in 30 days, get abs, the best companies to buy weight loss shakes from and everyone under the sun pushing that New Years- New Me crap already! And here I am waking up after a big night, exhausted, a little bit hungover, still wearing my makeup, bed hair and craving bacon and eggs for breakfast. No thanks. I don’t want to move my body for any reason other than because I enjoy it. Being a mum is hard enough without being told again and again that you need to ‘get that pre-baby body back’. My body didn’t go anywhere. It’s still here. A little squishier than it used to. A few more stretch marks than before. But it’s still here. Yes, eat well, exercise but do it because it’s good for you. Because you enjoy it. Because it makes your body feel good. Not because Instagram told you that you shouldn’t look the way you do. Not because you want to indulge in some Maccas occasionally and feel guilty. I am enough just the way I am and so are you! Don’t let social media fool you into thinking otherwise. Welcome to 2021 all #kangatraining #postnatalfitness #babywearing #motherhood #familyfriendly #wearallthebabies #wearthetoddlerstoo #oxytocinvibes #healthyhips #hipfriendly #mumsquad #village #community #adelaide #aldinga #fourthtrimester #befit #bestrong #behealthy #bewithyourbaby #mumandbub

07.01.2022 Our thoughts are with the family and friends of firefighters lost 1 year ago
07.01.2022 Did you know that while Diastasis Recti (or DR- separation of the abdominal muscles) is very common during and after pregnancy, not all separations are the same? The image below shows the variations that can occur. When assessing your belly for DR we are seeing where your gap is but also how wide and deep it may be, as all these factors contribute to your recovery. For some their Diastasis may recover well on its own, others may have ongoing issues, and it can contribute to... pelvic floor problems and back pain. At Kangatraining we aim to help you heal from the inside out, using exercises designed the strengthen the Transverse Abdominis (inner core muscles) without putting extra pressure into your Linea Alba, the connective tissues that may be stretched or thin (the DR). We highly recommend all women see a Women's Health Physio after having a baby to get a comprehensive, personalised plan to help them recover. While is is normal that separation may occur, that doesn't mean we just have to live with it!
07.01.2022 The wonderfully talented Emma has created some gorgeous new flyers for our Kangatraining Kids sessions and an A-frame to help you know you are in the right place and I can't wait to get my hands on them! Thank you for the amazing work again!
06.01.2022 Only 4.5 weeks left of Kanga for 2020! Uh, how did that happen? We have had so much fun the last couple of weeks, the babies love seeing each other even while we try to keep them in their own little area near Mum during floor work. We have a few cheeky toddlers who love to play hide and seek too, keeping Mum on her toes. Sometimes we mix things up, coming in to a circle, so the babies can see each other during warm up, or during squats or arms. ... With just a few weeks left make sure you book in any make up sessions with studiobookings, pop yourself on a waitlist if your preferred session is full and if anyone cancels you will get put straight into the class. Registrations can still be taken, however most sessions have very limited availabilities if any so check in soon if you want to give Kanga a try this year! We would love to hear from you.
06.01.2022 Our colouring in competition entries are in! Vote for your favourite by ‘liking’ the photo. Entries close Thursday 17 December at 3pm! ... Good luck everyone, they are all gorgeous

All you need to do is spread the word of how much you love Kangatraining, which I know you already do Bring a friend, family, your mother's group or those other people in bub's swi...mming class, the possibilities are endless! Also valid for Kangatraining Kids session, so get chatting!
05.01.2022 If you have visited any of these places, seem some one from the Northem Beaches or have the slightest sympton, please stay home. We all thank you for helping to keep us safe.
05.01.2022 How amazing are our Kangatraining Kids? The creativity just flows in our Midis sessions, no 2 sessions are ever the same even if they have the same kids in them! We have been working on skills like taking turns, following the leader and trying different things with familiar equipment. If you have a kid 18m-5y why not come and give it a go? We can find the right session for you and your family.
04.01.2022 When is a tunnel not just a tunnel? When you hand it over to kids and let their imaginations take charge! The tunnel has been a firm favourite in our Kangatraining kids sessions, if I don’t bring it along someone is bound to ask for it! Kids being kids this tunnel has been a bridge, a wave, a cave and so much more over the last few weeks. ... We work on cooperation, taking turns, listening to ideas and following instructions as well as gross motor skills. The kids crawl forwards and backwards, worm on their bellies, roll and move in all sorts of ways that I wouldn’t even think of on my own! 03.01.2022 How are you going these school holidays? I took the opportunity to take Mr Z out to Burns Outdoor Obstacle training, he had a fantastic morning! He gave everything a go, I joined him in a few of the obstacles, I love that they encourage the parents to join in too, such a great chance to bond with the kids. If you have been on any adventures I would love to see (might be in need of ideas for next week )
02.01.2022 Just like that Term 3 is over, and what a term it was! It has been busy, full and so much fun to spend the last 10 weeks with you I can’t wait to see what Term 4 brings. Registrations for Kangatraining and Kangatraining Kids classes will open on Tuesday, if you are ready to start your Kanga journey leave a comment and I can add you to the mailing list.

01.01.2022 I have lived and breathed Kanga the last couple of months. Today I took a day off! I made a good start on making 3 little girls very, very happy with some Bluey dresses. I love sewing and creating, I started with cloth nappies and basic clothes when my eldest was little. I haven’t done much this year, motivation has been lacking but I am determined to get lots of things made in time for Christmas (how did that get so close?). I would love to see what you get up to when (if?) you get the time!
