23.01.2022 What should baby wear in a carrier in winter? A rule of thumb is to dress your baby as warm as you’re dressed. Just remember that you want your baby to be w...arm but not overheat. The carrier and your body are extra sources of heat, so you don’t want to dress your baby in too many warm layers. Light layers can be a good thing if you’ll be going from outside to inside because you can take layers off as needed. Always ensure that your baby’s head, feet, and hands (if they’re peeking out) are covered. Put a warm beanie on your baby’s head, and fluffy socks or booties on her feet, and mittens on her hands. And ALWAYS remember the T.I.C.K.S rules for safe babywearing. T Tight The sling or carrier should be tight with your child positioned in a high and upright position. Any looseness can cause your baby to slump, restricting their breathing. I In view at all times By just tilting your head down you should be able to see your baby’s face to check that their airway is clear. Their nose and mouth should be uncovered and not blocked by the carrier, sling or your body. C Close enough to Kiss You should be able to tip your head forward to easily kiss the top of your baby’s head. If your child is on your back you should be able to tilt your head back and touch the top of their head K Keep chin off chest Your child’s chin should remain up and away from their body. They should never be in a curled position where their chin is forced onto their chest as it may restrict their breathing. Check now and check often! Babies can be in distress without making any noise or movement S Supported back Your baby should be held in a supported, natural position with their tummy and chest against you. 19.01.2022 Some valuable information for parents

16.01.2022 Prep for kanga return Only took us 2 hours to get ready for our walk today! How to get ready in 2 hours; mascara to cover 3 hours sleep applied without looking in a mirror Bb cream applied while dancing to 2 songs to get him to sleep before leaving the house Hair thrown in a pony tail ... To all our new mums who are intending to join us upon return, I know that to get out of the house takes effort.. no need to look beautiful for kanga! To get to class I'll probably have to rock up in my pjs at this rate!

16.01.2022 Happy Park Day xxxx

16.01.2022 Leaps Anyone with a young child/baby knows that they go through developmental leaps where their whole world changes. They learn new skills and go through physical changes. Well today marks the start of our thunderstorm period for our little man. The inconsolable crying came out of nowhere. I started by stripping him down and checking he was physically ok then offering skin to skin. When neither of them worked I checked my app.. shock horror leap 3 starts tomorrow (We are alwa...ys pretty much to the day). So I put him down (crying) got my carrier; popped him in and dance to 1 song. My little munchkin is as close to me as possible and that is the relief and familiarity he needed to not only calm down but fall asleep. . Baby wearing provides the feeling of safety, closeness and familiarity even when their whole world is changing. Makes mumma feel all the feels too! Hold them tight, hug them and take in all the love. These are the moments that imprint your memory. Thank you Kangatraining Australia for introducing me to the world of baby wearing xx.

14.01.2022 Hello Kanga community! This week we welcomed a beautiful baby boy into our family. I have received lots of messages this week with eager mums wanting to start kanga! If you would like to be updated on the recommencemenf of Kanga Point Cook (after I've had a rest and soaked up all the cuddles from my joeys) please message me and I will be in contact with the details as community centers reopen and trials begin.

13.01.2022 Hello to our beautiful mummas! Sorry I have been MIA! I have spent a lot of my time dancing round the house with our new bub in a carrier.. makes us both happy! I hope everyone is surviving our stage 3 restrictions! With little ones at home, it can be extra exhausting. When you are feeling a bit defeated, dance around the house for a couple of songs.. works wonders! Also, to all those embarking on round 2 of remote learning feel free to reach out as I am a primary teacher..... I may get back to you during a 2am feed but happy to help. I will be in contact regarding kanga classes when we have an indication of how things are going. Look after yourselves and enjoy an accurate representation of me dancing around my house.

10.01.2022 #selfcaresaves Have a look at this amazing woman who is supporting mums by promoting just 15 minutes of self care a day to support your mental and emotional health. Can you find 15 minutes a day during the week between 17-23 August to put yourself first? No cost, just love and support.Have a look and make a commitment x

09.01.2022 If you have a little one aged 0-24 months or know someone who has, follow this link to enter a giveaway to win a pack of age appropriate activities for bub. I hope you are all coping with being cooped up inside on these rainy days. It can be hard to entertain a little one on days like today. You're all doing a brilliant job xx https://www.instagram.com/p/CFn9ZABHAUI/

03.01.2022 Happy Fathers Day to all the father figured out there. May your 'dad jokes" be laughed at today and every day, even if it's only by you! To all the people who can't physically see their father/ grandfather figure today, I hope you can send some virtual hugs and kisses their way xx
