22.01.2022 This time next week 2 of our SA Kangatrainers will be getting ready to challenge themselves and take a leap (literally), skydiving for COPE (Centre of Perinatal Excellence)! This incredible organisation uses events like Mother Jumpers to help raise money to support the early identification and reducing the stigma of perinatal anxiety and depression . Because no parent should struggle alone .... Any amount you can donate would be much appreciated - even if its just $5 that would be amazing. Please help Deb reach her fundraising goal. https://www.mycause.com.au/page/214332/deb-daly "I never been totally opposed to the idea of jumping out of a plane, however unlike some people its definitely not something I ever thought I would do! Ive decided to plunge outside of comfort zone for this amazing cause! I quietly suffered with anxiety and severe depression after having my first child.. I felt so alone, lost and like the biggest failure My son never slept and sleep deprivation hit me hard which only amplified those feelings! Eventually I reached out for help and with my families support and reassurance I eventually felt more like myself! Being a Mum is by far the hardest job Ill ever have... Talking about our struggles and knowing we are not alone is sometimes the one thing that gets us through!" Credit ~ Deb Kangatraining Playford

18.01.2022 MAKING MUM FRIENDS Lets talk about it. Were you pregnant the same time as your friends?... Or did you hit it off with your parents group? Or were you left a little lonely and stumbling around in the World or awkwardly seeking out mum friends? Just like all the other phases in your life youre not always going to instantly hit it off with every other parent you meet. Meaning that sometimes you have to put yourself out there a little. At Kangatraining we are all about helping you make friends and connecting you with other parents in your community. Because weve all been there. In fact, making friends is often a motivating factor when people sign up to be a Kangatrainer! So how does this happen? Well we start by creating a warm, welcome, judgement free zone, thats inclusive of all parents. The class is fun. And people who come to class are there to have fun and get fit with their babies, no matter what your fitness level. So youre already hanging out with a bunch of likeminded and friendly peeps. At the end of the class we have a circle chat while we finish off our stretching. This means we take the awkwardness out of the intros by helping you get to know each other in a safe space. Sometimes we laugh, sometimes we cry. Sometimes we just talk about what were watching on TV. And then at the end of class we go for coffee catch ups or just hang out and chat. Sometimes we plan get togethers, movie nights and picnics and even those in lockdown are having the odd coffee catch up or wine night via Zoom. As Kangatrainers we are so lucky to have met new mates who have helped us through this phase of our lives, through to soul sisters well have forever and weve watched the same thing happen with our Kangamums. Wed love you to give one of your Kangamum mates a shout out in the comments below And while this post is mostly about the mamas, we occasionally make some pretty rad kangadad mates too.

05.01.2022 Have you tried an online Kangatraining class yet?

05.01.2022 What I LOVE about Kangatraining... When I walked into my first Kangatraining session as a participant, I found so much more than a mums and babies exercise c...lass. I found a village, I found support and women who became my friends... As a new mother navigating my new path and feeling like I had to work on getting my pre baby body back, I found the confidence to appreciate and take pride in my body for the achievement of growing a new human. Instead of feeling sad over how I looked or the changes, Ive become more confident in my own body than I ever had before. Kanga gave me confidence in exercising, I was nervous of the idea of going to a gym and felt overwhelmed at the idea of leaving my son in a creche with strangers... I Kanga as it meant we could be together and while I was doing something for me, he was in my arms, safe and fast asleep. When I found Kanga, I was struggling with feeling isolated and lonely. Leaving the house was hard as I didnt have anywhere to be and there was only so many days a week I could wander the shopping centres. I Kanga because it gave me the confidence to leave my house 3 days a week, it became my routine and I relied on it. I knew that I was going to have the chance to speak to other adults, every class was fun and I always left feeling uplifted. It was my self care. Quickly Kanga became more than just a class, it became coffee and trips to the playground. When I was struggling with being lonely and on maternity leave, these friendships were and continue to be so precious. I Kanga for the babywearing. When my son was born, I knew about babywearing and the benefits. But I didnt have the confidence to really give it a go and it all was so foreign. My first class completely changed that, I learned that I could wear all the time and how to do so safely and confidently. It meant that I could have my baby close to me as often as we both needed. Those sleepy cuddles in class are so precious and even now at 2 and a half, we rely on babywearing for so much. Its comfort when my son is feeling unwell, bonding when he needs extra cuddles and convenience so I can actually have free hands. I Kanga so much, that I became an instructor. Kanga gave me the opportunity to stay home with my son and we get to go to work together! - Naomi (Kangatrainer at Kangatraining TTG)

04.01.2022 TERM 1 TIMETABLE Get ready to Kanga in 2020 (if you havent already)

04.01.2022 What I LOVE about Kangatraining... Today I was thinking and reflecting about the almost 3 years I have teaching this amazing program, and what makes this prog...ram so unique in comparison to all of the other Mum & Baby programs out there. I love this program because it is one of the only programs around that is there for MUM. In amongst the baby swimming, sensory, playgroups, music, dance, etc classes... Kangatraining is the only program about you. Of course you can attend other gyms, and use their crches, but often there can be some guilt and uneasiness about that, and with Kangatraining you dont experience that. Its a way that you can do an activity for you without feeling guilty and start to feel like yourself again (because we all know that having a baby can change us quickly, inside and out). I love this program because while these women are doing an activity for them, they are meeting other local Mums... GETTING ADULT CONVERSATION. Thats why we love our after class coffees. I have met so many amazing women who I now call my friends through this program. I love this program because it teaches women about returning to exercise safely and connects women with professionals like Womens Health Physiotherapists, so they can rehabilitate their body after having a baby. And finally, I love this program because no matter how much of a bad night, day, week, month, I have had with my baby (who is now 3), a Kanga session ALWAYS makes me feel better. My son asleep on me, with an endorphin rush after class, is the best feeling in the world... This program is run 4 times a week at Valley View... if you would like to join us. PM me.

04.01.2022 This is what Kanga is all about

01.01.2022 You all hear me harp on about how Kangatraining is so much more than fitness, so I wanted to show you an example... This is Sarah and Sam. They met in 2017 at ...our Kangatraining sessions. Sarah was coming to Kanga with her second baby and Sam was there with her first. They came to class every Friday without fail... They both returned to work, stopped Kangatraining (but coming to our other classes) and have continued their friendship, so much so that Sam has just had her second baby and Sarah & her husband are going to be Godparents to their new baby! As I messaged them to ask if I could write this, they were enjoying a Gin together!! This is what I mean, there have been so many meaningful and strong friendships that have started at this weekly class, its so beautiful I see so many posts in FB Mums Groups about making mum friends, it makes me so sad that there are Mums feeling so lonely out there. You dont need to be, come and join us

01.01.2022 We love seeing our SA trainers support and guide our up and coming Kangatrainers to be the best they can be
