24.01.2022 A study in New York found that babies can move up to 4.2km a day! How true this fact is I don’t know but Huggies in South Africa put it to the test with this very cute series of the worlds first Baby Marathon

22.01.2022 There’s nothing wrong with wanting to avoid giving your toddler chocolate this Easter - especially if they don’t know what is yet but that doesn’t mean they need to miss out on the fun. Get some plastic eggs and fill them with your toddlers favourite snacks. Puffed chips, sultanas, yogurt buttons, biscuits, mini muffins, mini rice cakes, rice rusks, Cheerios, all fit inside the eggs perfectly! Hide them around the house or garden and let the Easter egg hunt begin ... *Adjust the what you put inside the eggs based on your child’s eating ability.

21.01.2022 The Joeys Having a quick play while their Mums do some floor work. We keep the floorwork component of the class flexible and adjust it according to how babies are feeling on the day. If they are happy and content to play, we squeeze in an extra exercise or two but if they are cranky and tired, we will shorten it off, get them all in carriers so that they can have a nice snuggle with Mum

18.01.2022 When all that matters is you and your baby! Babywearing has sooooo many benefits for Mum and baby, one of those benefits is the opportunity for conversation. Babies learn so much from watching us and what better view point than up close, where they can watch, copy and engage in verbal and non-verbal communication (like facial expressions) with you ... Love this stolen moment captured during barre MummActiv

15.01.2022 This week is International Babywearing Week! TICKS is the international guideline to safe and comfortable babywearing for both Wearer and Bub. So during this week we will be highlighting each of the TICKS guidelines.... First up is: TIGHT Your carrier should be tight enough to hug your baby close to you. Any slack or loose fabric may cause your baby to slump down in the carrier, which can restrict their breathing and also pull on your back.

14.01.2022 What a deal! Treat yourself or a friend or both

06.01.2022 Last class for the term! A bit of a bitter sweet one, as many of our Mums finished up this term to return to work I knew it was coming but it got me a bit today. That’s the thing about Kanga, you are not just a number, you are a valuable part of our little community and I am so grateful for each and every one of you!

05.01.2022 Buckle Safety Elastic - Carrier Tip Tuesday Did you know the funny bit of elastic near the buckle of your carrier is actually a safety elastic. Some carriers have them on the waist belt, as well as arm straps. What they do, is in the unlikely event that your buckle may come undone while wearing your baby, the buckle will catch on the elastic, preventing the whole waist band (or arm straps) from coming undone.... So when buckling up your carrier, make sure slide the buckle through the elastic, click the buckle together and pull the excess strap (webbing) through as well. Check out the video for exactly how it is done. It is important to note that not all carriers have these elastics and that comes down to the difference in the design of the carrier and does NOT mean your carrier is less safe. #mumsandbubs #babywearingtips

03.01.2022 Is your carrier hurting you or giving you a sore back? It shouldn’t be... If you are experiencing this, it is more often than not, that your carrier is incorrectly set up for you. Each new Mum, whether you are a seasoned baby wearer or a complete newbie, will be fitted and checked before starting your Kangatraining Class.... We want you and your baby to be safe and comfortable. All Kangatrainers are trained by baby wearing consultants, to ensure safe and optimal babywearing and I am currently continuing this training to be able to provide more babywearing support to you. You may be surprised how the smallest of tweaks can make a world of difference!

02.01.2022 At the end of the term I asked my Kanga Mums what they loved about Kangatraining. From all the lovely answers, this one stood out for me.... because that was me when my babies were little! It's sooooo easy to just stay home, everything you need is there. There is no reason to leave the house (ok, maybe only for chocolate )... But when you do leave, amazing things happen! You feel better Just being out and about gives purpose to your day and If you are like this Kanga Mum, you end up meeting some lovely Mums, who understand how sleep deprived you are, who are all going through the same tough grind of Motherhood and you end up making some great new friends! If you are looking for that reason to get out of the house and want to give Kangatraining a go, book your 2 Class Trial today for only $10 www.kangatrainingjoondalup.com/booknow
