25.01.2022 We had some big joeys in class today and they certainly stole the show. The way they danced along and formed a beautiful connection was a welcomed distraction to the pain of the leg and arm tracks I think . .... . . #kangatrainingau #kangatraining #exercisewithyourbaby #babywearing #babywearingworkout #safebabywearing #strongmum #fitmum #postnatalfitness #happymum #happybaby #postpartum #postpartumfitnes #mumsandbubs #mentalhealth #recovery #pelvicfloorhealth #selfcare #selfcaresaves #sleepingbaby #bonding #findyourtribe #mumtribe #healthylivinginsideandout See more

23.01.2022 Did you know... you don't need to own your own carrier or do much baby wearing at home to come to class? I have hire carriers for you to use in class, free of charge. I can also help you get to know your own carrier better to make baby wearing fun and comfortable for you and bub. If you would like help finding the right carrier for you so that you can do more baby wearing at home and enjoy the conveniences of having your own carrier, I also stock a variety of soft structured... carriers. Always happy to chat and answer your carrier questions. Please don't hesitate to get in touch with any questions. Alex x

22.01.2022 ** TRIGGER WARNING ** RED NOSE DAY "As a Kangatrainer I think you automatically love babies and children, it’s just in your nature. I am also a paediatric nu...rse, so I definitely love kids, but I am often surrounded by tragedy. Kangatraining was a way of escaping that. However, in 2018 my 2 separate worlds collided and we tragically lost one of our own Kangababies to SIDS. . This particular baby had been coming to classes regularly since she was 9weeks of age and she passed just after her 1st birthday. She was a key member of our little community, we watched her grow and witnessed all the milestones that happen in the first year of a child’s life. She had such a mischievous personality with a cheeky smile to match, that could light up any room, one of her smiles could truly make your day a little better and I was guaranteed one when I would check the carriers before class. . Her loss completely shook myself and my Kangamummas, it left a massive hole in our community and our hearts. I noticed a total shift in the group from that day, everyone was grieving, but also held their own babies just a little bit tighter, watched them sleep a little closer and worried just a little more about everything. We were in shock, and still are to this day. How could something so beautiful be taken from this world so young? . There has to be something that can be done for SIDS, it’s not fair that these beautiful babies are taken from this world for no reason. Our Kangababy was a healthy, happy little girl, that was taken far too early. The Red Nose Day and Red Donut Day hold a special place in my heart and I will always contribute, because for me now, SIDS has a face." 22.01.2022 Pre-class tea parties Making new connections and post-class sleepy smiles There are so many benefits for babies and children in a Kanga class as well as the physical and mental benefits for mums. Today’s Tumut class was a blast and we are blessed with such a beautiful space prepared by @roslynclarephotography who had the essential oils going for us which really helped us find our zen ... . . . #kangatrainingau #kangatraining #blueyofficial #exercisewithyourbaby #babywearing #babywearingworkout #safebabywearing #strongmum #fitmum #postnatalfitness #happymum #happybaby #postpartum #postpartumfitnes #mumsandbubs #mentalhealth #recovery #pelvicfloorhealth #selfcare #selfcaresaves #sleepingbaby #bonding #findyourtribe #mumtribe #healthylivinginsideandout

22.01.2022 Happy Monday Why not kickstart the week with a great workout and conversation with fellow mums keeping it real. I still have a few spots available for today’s classes. Send me a DM if you’d like to come along - new and existing mums welcome xx

22.01.2022 It took becoming a mum of two for me to realise this... along with self care is not selfish. What important life lesson are you glad you’ve learned?

19.01.2022 6 sweaty mums and 6 relaxes babies plus a happy toddler means great class all round. Sad to miss some regular faces today. 19.01.2022 One on one classes always bring a new level of intensity. Was fun working up a sweat with this amazing mum and our bubs today. . It’s not too late to join us for next week. Get in touch or check out the website.

19.01.2022 Who’s excited for Kanga tomorrow? After a week off due to heat and public holidays I am super keen to get back in the studio tomorrow and Tuesday and work up a sweat with some beautiful mummas and their cute little babes. One of my favourite parts of class though is the end when we get to grab a coffee and cake and just talk really honest mum stuff with people we know aren’t going to judge or question our parenting styles. We are all so different yet we all just get it and... I love watching friendships blossom because of Kanga. If you’re looking for a way to get out of the house, meet other mums and take some time out for your own self care without the need for a babysitter then please get in touch. We can’t wait to Kanga with you! 19.01.2022 As we approach the half way point of term 4 I thought this would be a great time to let you know that if committing to a whole term doesn't work for you then you can still come casually. There are so many benefits to committing to a term like: > a $5 discount per class > a secured spot each week... > accountability to help get you out the door when it all seems too much... because you'll feel so much better by the end of it > routine to help ease the mental load But there are a lot of great reasons to come casually too like being able to pay as you go, fit into your busy schedule if you like to do different things each week and achieve that spur of the moment workout. You can pay casually week to week (spaces permitting), or you can lock in your spot for the term by paying up front and getting a discount. Discount is available until the end of week 4 each term. Booking is essential regardless of your style so jump over to www.kangatraining.com.au or contact me on 0435 846 973. Hope to meet you and bub soon, Alex x

19.01.2022 Too funny not to share

19.01.2022 From personal experience, women's health physios don't seem to be talked about enough in the early days postpartum. Seeing a women's health physio can help with: > pelvic floor control including incontinence and prolapse > bowl disorders including constipation and incontinence... > sexual dysfunction > musculoskeletal conditions associated with pregnancy > chronic pelvic pain Synergy Healthworks are conveniently located in Wagga Wagga and Gundagai. You can check them out at www.synergyhealthworks.com

19.01.2022 Carriers are like jeans - different styles suit different wearers. Some great tips whether you suffer from prolapse or not.

19.01.2022 Term 3 F2F kicked off today with this super fun group of mummas and their babies. Thank you ladies for a wonderful class. 18.01.2022 Well would you look at that. We made the big leagues . Feeling honoured and blessed to be featured on the international page

18.01.2022 I'm at a bit of a loss for words for this post. I feel like I need to say something profound and magical but it's hard to pick the right words out of a big bag of mixed emotions. I began my Kangatraining journey in 2016 as a participant when my first bub was little. I absolutely fell in love with experience and the friendships and missed the classes so much when work commitments began to clash with class times. In 2019 I gave birth to my second bub and the original trainer ...in the area was no longer running classes. After approaching her to see if she would start them up again and hearing it wasn't in her plans I decided to take up the role of Kangatrainer and completed my training in October that year. A lot happened in 2020 including moving from Wagga Wagga to Tumut for family reasons. Despite a period of only being allowed to teach online I cherished the connections I had made with other mums in the community and the friendships they had also made with each other through Kangatraining. For mums especially who had had babies during COVID and had missed out on so many other mum groups I couldn't bring myself to let the opportunity go after relocating. I committed to traveling over 1-2 days a week to run classes, not just for the other mums but to interact with my own mum tribe too. It is with mixed emotions now that I pass on the batten to Sarah as she begins her Kangatrainer journey. I will miss all the mums and babies that I have been coming to class this year, the Wagga cafes and the frequent Bunnings trips - my "big city" fix as I call it - but I am equally excited for Sarah to experience this wonderful business, to focus more on expanding Kangatraining in Tumut and Surrounds, and to spend less time in the car and more time building connections in my new community and growing an even stronger tribe of amazing mummas. Thank you so so much to each and every person who has attended a Kanga class with me over the past 18 months - either in person or online. Whether you came once or a hundred times it has meant something very special to me and I hope you have gained something positive from it too. You are all amazing. This is by no means goodbye, it is simply, "see you further down the road". I am so grateful as I write this for social media so that we are able to stay easily connected. Much much love, Alex, Pippa and Penny xx

18.01.2022 A great reminder. I’m always so conscious of it after talking about this in class but a couple of days later I find myself slipping back no to the habit until it’s time for class again

18.01.2022 I’m sure many of us can relate! I am super excited to have in person classes again in term 3 but it also feels surreal and taboo. Lets take baby steps forward together ... #butwewontholdhandssowecanstaytwometersapart

16.01.2022 Such a beautiful carrier and very supportive. Pippa and I love ours. Come along to a Kanga class if you’d like to give it a try or let me know if you’d like to order one for your very own.

14.01.2022 My first birth was traumatic but I didn’t make that association at the time. I didn’t know any different. I thought that’s what birth was. It wasn’t until I was speaking to my friends mum, an amazing midwife and huge advocate for calm and respectful birthing, that I realised I had experienced birth trauma and working through that empowered me to achieve a wonderful birthing experience with my second child. Talk about your birthing experience with other mums, not shame or diminish anyone else’s experience but to help each other understand that EVERY birth is unique and help each other identify aspects that might be having a negative impact on their mental health and their connection to motherhood and their child.

13.01.2022 Very excited to be welcoming Brooke (back) to Kangatraining Australia. She brings a wealth of knowledge and I can’t wait to learn so much from her and pass it on to my wonderful Kanga Mums. Welcome Brooke!

13.01.2022 This is Lauren. Lauren decided to join Kangatraining, get her body moving, make time for her physical and mental well-being and make some new mum friends. Lauren’s clever. 13.01.2022 This ones for all the support networks out there... If you’re seeing just the top of the iceberg then the natural human reaction is to push back with the same rage. Mums (and dads) need support in more than just housework and looking after baby. They also need you to be strong for them when they aren’t feeling it themselves. Take a breath, resist the natural reaction and be the calm they need.

10.01.2022 TRIGGER WARNING - Perinatal Mental Health I never met Rosetta yet I think of her often, especially since becoming a Mum. Rosetta was Mum to a pigeon pair (twin... boy & girl) aged 18 months and a newborn daughter when she was first sent away by her family doctor for "a rest". Rosetta had suffered a breakdown brought on by anxiety and depression. She spent months in a sanitarium in country Victoria surrounded by people who were called lunatics, away from her husband and young children. It was 1909. A time when there was no support, no conversations, no RUOK Day, no Perinatal Mental Health Week, no Beyond Blue or Lifeline for anyone going through a mental illness including postnatal anxiety and depression. Most of the establishments were known as asylums. This title emphasised its function as a place of detention rather than a hospital which provided treatment for mentally ill people who could be cured. The Lunacy Act of 1903 changed the title of all "asylums" to "hospitals for the insane". This Act came into operation in March 1905. The Mental Hygiene Act 1933 altered the title to "mental hospitals". Today they're referred to as "mental health units". Wouldn't it be amazing to see them renamed something like a mental health and wellbeing centre? While Rosetta was away, her children were sent to stay with relatives while their Father worked to pay bills and provide for the family. Rosetta eventually returned home but it would be a difficult time for her. She was labeled an unfit Mother by society, ostracized by family and friends and looked down upon in her local community. Rosetta died in 1919 leaving behind my Nan aged 12, her twin brother and 10 year old sister. Her death left a huge impact on my Nan. She knew that more could have been done to help. Talking about perinatal mental health, depression and anxiety is so important. Rosetta would have felt desperately alone, scared, worried and sad back in 1909. The same feelings and emotions that many of us experience today with anxiety and depression, BUT it's now 2020, 100 years since Rosetta's death and we are now having the conversation. We're checking in on our friends. We have access to amazing resources and support networks. We have Mums and Dads now openly talking about their own experiences with anxiety and depression. Rosetta, my great grandmother, would be very proud of how far we've come. If you need to talk to someone about how you're feeling please, - Call PANDA on 1300 726 306 9am-7.30pm Monday - Friday AEDT/AEST - Visit COPE https://www.cope.org.au/getting-help/ There are some great tips including where to go and what to do to get help. Rosetta didn't have these options, but you do. This Perinatal Mental Health Week we're asking you to donate the cost of a coffee to COPE. To donate, please head to our link below https://donorbox.org/shout-a-coffee-for-cope-3 #coffeeforcope #perinatalmentalhealthweek

05.01.2022 Yes Kangatraining is a workout class but we aren’t about toning up and getting six packs. We’re about keeping active for our mental health and overall wellbeing, using fitness as a means of making new friends and spending quality time with our bubs. This is a perfect representation of the mum bod. Be happy in your own body. If you LOVE what the sags and stretch marks represent- you’re an awesome mum. If you’re dying to get your pre-baby body back- you’re an awesome mum.

03.01.2022 Sending love and strength to all the mums and dads not being able to go through this passage together.

02.01.2022 It was a hot and sweaty one today but totally worth it and the milkshakes and coffees from @trailstreet were a pretty sweet cool down. Today’s class a great mix of first timers and returners with all 3 returners kanga-ing with new joeys. Kangatraining is so adaptive to your personal needs that it really is the perfect workout session to come together as a group without feeling expectations from others.... So what are you waiting for?
