25.01.2022 Top dog trainers from across NSW and into Queensland will be among the vendors offering working dogs at the fifth annual RMA Network Dundee Working Stock Dog Auction.

25.01.2022 Had an awesome time last weekend on the 10th and 11th. Our Ian Stringer dog school was a real treat for everyone that attended, with everyone thoroughly enjoying the time spent working some great dogs. Everyone took away some new ideas to adapt their way of working with their dogs and the dogs having a better relationship with their stock.

10.01.2022 TIED UP. A poem by E.M.Corcoran I see you. I see you scrolling through your feed. ... Not interacting anymore. Not in town. Not on social media. I see you scrolling through your Snapchat, through your insta, through your Facebook. You haven’t hit like for a while. You haven’t seen anything you like for a while. You begin to wonder if anyone noticed you stopped coming to events. There was always valid excuses. Feeding stock. Cleaning out a dam. Fixing machinery. Got tied up doing something. Tied up. Two words. Tied up. Your guts feel tied up when you pull another beast from a muddy waterless dam. You build a fence around the dam to keep the stock safe. No one sees. Another cow can’t keep milk up to her calf. You bring the calf into the house and bottle rare it. You see the cow again and your heart feels tied up. No ones sees. You drive up to the back paddocks. You have been resting them. Took the stock off early to protect the soil. Preparing it for the rain. The last time you checked there was good ground cover. Now the #Roos and #pigs have had a field day (year). You can’t even count the mob of kangaroos there. Guesstimating hundreds. The soil is softening on top. The structure breaking. You feel it in your bones. The wind will pick it up and take the top soil with it. No one cared where the dust in the dust storm came from. You did. No one sees. You drive past the empty silos that you filled with drought proofing grains. You wonder again for the fourth time this morning where you went wrong. What you could have done differently. I see you. I see you get to the eastern paddock and the stud stock have flocked around the water trough. They have broken the float off. The pressure must have been too low. You spend the entire afternoon sourcing the parts and tools and fixing it. You calculate. You’re four hours behind schedule on feeding now. You calculate how long to do the rounds. Hopefully home maybe by nine thirty. Too late to make the kids wait up for dinner. You message your spouse. Apologising. You’re mind is playing tricks on you. No one sees. I see you get back and find a flat tyre on the feeding rig. And a tear falls down your sun loved cheek. Just one tear. A lonely tear. Your stomach feels tied up. No one sees. You fix the tyre. You prepare to feed, waiting for the machine to finish you grab your phone. You scroll. You see the activist shouting YOU did this. You fucked this. Your fault. Another single tear falls. Another lonely tear. You scroll on. A mate in Hawaii. Another skiing. Another enjoying a bbq in a sun browned backyard. An invite you didn’t receive. You didn’t attend the last six events. You wouldn’t have made this one. You wonder if anyone even thought to bother. No one sees. Tied up. Two words. Tied up. You tie the legs up on the calf and place it on the motor bike with you. You wonder how long it’s been since it had a drink. You prepare the milk in the laundry. Untying the calf. It’s weak. It’s eyes look helpless. Not directly looking into your eyes. It’s head is heavy and hard to keep up whilst it drinks. You make up some electrolytes too. You look into the calf’s world and you feel your reflection looking back at you. The world is heavy. It feels like the entire climate is weighing down on your ability to farm. It’s been years since you hosted a regenerative ag workshop. It’s been years since you went to one. It’s been years since a lot of things. No body sees. Tied up. Two words. Tied up. Your hands feel tied up when some one offers to help. Your throat feels tied up when your almost ready to ask for a hand. Tied up. End of Poem. Thanks for reading. Maybe it’s time to call a mate. Tell them what’s going on. If any of this felt real to you. The struggle. The weight. Feeling tied up? Please contact beyond blue or your local GP or Lifeline or rural counselling services. Call or message me. If you have a mate on a farm flick them a caring message. Call in. Take dinner. Some drinking water. Maybe groceries. Maybe ask them what they need. I have an idea for supporting rural towns and drought effected areas so watch this space xoxo Photo 2015 compared to yesterday.
