23.01.2022 Dear Kannada Sangha Members, For the past few months all Kannada associations in Australia have formed a working committee group to include KANNADA language in NAATI Australia. A big thanks to Melbourne Kannada Sangha for initiating this process. It's a proud moment for Kannadigas today, NAATI is now positioning to make available testing in three new languages native to regions of India, one of which is Kannada.... We would strongly recommend many members with command over Kannada language to apply to become examiners this will be a paid service from NAATI and we will be one step closer to including Kannada Language in NAATI. If Kannada Language is included in NAATI people migrating from Karnataka or people fluent in Kannada language will get extra 5 points towards migration and visa process. Dr Charita Deshpande is from Brisbane and been part of KSQ family from past few years. She has been working in the space of mental health to raise the awareness in regards to importance of mental health. She conducts health awareness seminars and workshops to help people understand how mental health ...needs to be considered as important as physical health. She has always engaged herself in many awareness programs in rural India like importance of vaccination to the children, importance of hospital deliveries and menstrual hygiene. She is now highly motivated to focus on mental health awareness and working towards establishing an organization for the same. 06.01.2022 Dear members of KSQ Family! We have an exciting yoga and meditation event on the 18th January 2020 (Saturday) at 5.30 pm at the Griffith Multifaith Center Nathan Campus. We request our members to come to the event and gain from the session to be held on that day. A brief note about the event and the people holding the event is detailed below.... Event details: Vanita, Kirti and Digambar are Art of Living teachers; teaching Yoga, Meditation; Breathing techniques. Kirti and Digambar are engineers. Vanita is health practitioner. All of them have been benefited from Art of Living practices and now volunteer to spread the knowledge which they have learned. Art of Living believes true wealth is a happy, healthy and balanced person, whose smile is not wavered or washed about by the world. That within him/herself person can cultivate such a strong state of mental well being that, optimal physical health becomes a norm. It is hard to be happy when our body is ailing and aching, and vice versa if the mind is negative and down then the body also suffers. There are many empirical studies that show strong correlations between high stress level and a decrease in physical and mental well being. Art of living - 1 and a half hour workshop is for you to learn some simple techniques of yoga, meditation and breathing which you can incorporate in your daily life. Hope to see you all at the event. Please bring your yoga mats (if you have) with you to the event. Light refreshments (biscuits and fruits) and juice will be provided to the members attending the event.
