20.01.2022 WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU EXERCISED BECAUSE YOU WANTED TO?? Exercise isn't something that should be seen as a punishment, or to 'burn off' the food you ate from the weekend. Exercise should be enjoyed. Yes while you're doing it, it may feel a little hard - BUT THAT'S THE POINT! Results, means pushing yourself - but it doesn't have to be in a way that you don't enjoy. When you enjoy the exercise the results will come a whole lot faster.

19.01.2022 What is MetaFit? Regular Metafit workouts will make you fitter, stronger and leaner and will also take your energy levels through the roof . The two most common forms of stretching are: Dynamic stretches - these are functional active movements using a full range of motion, which mimic the movements of the exercise you are about to perform. This allows you to perform your workouts safely to prevent injury. Static stretches - are stretches that are held in place for a period of time, without movement. This increases flexibility and range of motion and is recommended to be done at the end of your workout.

12.01.2022 Face Mask for 13 years and Above, the following is from The State Government - Here’s what you need to know about masks and exercising in Greater Brisbane. You ...need to wear a mask when you’re exercising indoors, for example at a gym, but you can remove your mask when you’re out of breath or puffing. You do not have to wear a mask indoors if you are doing strenuous aerobic exercise such as high-intensity interval training, cycling, running or team sport. If you’re exercising outdoors, you must carry a mask with you at all times.

The key is to start somewhere! Once you start setting and achieving those small goals they will grow into habits.... So why not start this week, at our first fitness class of 2021 at 10am Saturday.

07.01.2022 How to become and stay motivated Set goals. Goals give you a direction to focus on one that’s measurable and has an endpoint will help you to stay motivated.... Choose goals that interest you. You’re much more likely to stay motivated if you’re working towards something that you genuinely want to achieve. Find something interesting within goal that doesn’t appeal to you. Sometimes other people set goals or tasks for us that we don’t find interesting or want to do. So, try and find something within that task that does motivate you. Make your goal public. If you tell someone or write down your goal, you’ve essentially made a promise to yourself. Plot your progress. When you’re working towards something, it can be motivating to see evidence in the progress you’re making. You could create a visual representation of your progress. Break up your goal. Start with easier tasks and work your way up to bigger challenges. Breaking up a larger goal helps build confidence. Don’t do it alone. Join a class, or someone to share the experience with. People’s encouragement will boost your motivation, particularly when you’re doing it tough.

06.01.2022 Start getting motivated for tomorrow’s session at 11am!

06.01.2022 We are running a MetaPwr session! MetaPwr is a circuit training session, that combines weights with MetaFit exercises. Come and give it a try, only water and a towel required. WHY METAPWR WORKS!!... 1. Uses compound and multi-joint exercises. Compound movements use lots of muscle groups at once; multi-joint exercises use multiple joints. Both are typically full-body. The more muscles used at once, the greater the metabolic impact. 2. Limits rest. While we never rush through exercises or rest, we keep the flow of workout going. No more than 15-30 second rest breaks between exercises - usually just enough to catch your breath and grab a swig of water. 3. Challenging weights. No Barbie weights here! Since rest is limited, you won’t lift as much as you might during a focused strength training session, but PWR still uses elements of resistance training. Heavier weights will build lean muscle and develop power, resulting in both even more metabolic spike over the long run. 4. Only 20-25 minutes (excluding warm-up). Workouts are kept short and intense to maximise the amount of energy expenditure and fat burn after the workout. THERE IS NO EASY WAY! There are no magic pills or miracle workouts! WORK HARD - Always work at your max intensity. NO DANCING - Big compound movements, no half reps. METABOLISM ON FIRE - Max effort + big ROM = increased fat burning, VO2 max and lean muscle.
