23.01.2022 Meditate for 10 minutes for 10 days in a row This is one of our Kanti BINGO squares, we hope this will help lead you towards a regular Meditation Practice. What are the benefits of a regular Meditation practice?... Relives stress Promotes relaxation Helps you become more mindful in everyday life Being mindful helps you appreciate life, live simply and be present in everything you do Improves your focus, memory, self-control, academic performance and more Heart rate slows Blood pressure drops Metabolism improves Muscles relax Get to know yourself better Improve your level of self-awareness You can create for yourself a sanctuary of calm and relaxation as you sit in meditation. So how to start? Commit to just 10 minutes a day. You can do more if you’re comfortable with that. Pick a time of day - it doesn’t need to be exact maybe something like: When I get up, after the school run, in my lunch break, "when I get home from work" Find a relatively quiet spot Sit comfortably, don’t worry too much about how you are sitting, or what you are sitting on, just that you are comfortable. Perhaps gently close your eyes. Focus on your breath. Notice your breath enter and exit your body. Let the breath be calm and steady, there’s no need to force your breath. Notice the sensations of your breath as it enters through the nostrils, then into your throat, then into your lungs and belly. As you breathe out, follow your breath out back into the world. If it helps, you can count your breath count down from 100. For example, inhale 100, exhale 99, inhale 98 etc. If you lose count, or reach 1, you simply return to 100. If you find your mind wandering (and you will), just gently remind yourself to come back to your breath. Thats all you need to do :) Repeat every day, and before you know it, you have a daily meditation practice

18.01.2022 GREAT NEWS! We are reopening on Sunday morning for Studio classes We are all very much looking forward to seeing you all again, our schedule will resume as usual.... We have now reinstated the schedule on Punchpass (link below), make sure to book yourselves in, as all reservations for previously cancelled classes were deleted. We will be following the 4sqm per person directive, which we were already doing in any case, even though is was previously set at 2sqm. Of course your health and safety are very important to us, and we will continue to do our very best to make sure Kanti Yoga is a safe space for you all. 16.01.2022 Happy New Year! Best wishes to you all for a peaceful, safe and prosperous new year. I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to everyone who has been so supportive of me and the studio throughout this challenging year.... I think most of us would agree that our continued Yoga practice was integral to navigating our way through the more difficult days of 2020. So a huge thank you to my teaching team, I really cannot even begin to express the depth of my gratitude to this extraordinary group of women. Individually, they all had their own challenges and set backs, but they continued to show up for me, for the studio and for our community Thank you to our community, for continuing to support us, for practicing with us online, for your patience as we adapted and learnt new ways to connect, thank you for returning to the studio when we were able to re-open, thank you for helping us adapt to new and ever changing regulations, thank you for your beautiful messages of ongoing support and appreciation, thank you for caring about us and each other. Yoga is, of course, very much an inner practice, an opportunity to turn inwards, to care for and nurture ourselves. But we do this, not to care only for ourselves, but so we can care for, and about, others. It has been my privilege to witness the kindness, compassion and support our members show towards me, my teachers, each other, and the community at large. This is Yoga off the mat. I am very much looking forward to stepping into 2021, with a positive outlook for a wonderful year ahead, there will be twists, turns and set backs of course, but I feel quietly confident that we can navigate our way through these with grace, as a community we have most definitely become much more accepting, adaptable, and dare I say flexible See you on the mat in 2021 Love Naomi xx

You'll explore a variety of Yoga poses, sun salutations, Yoga philosophy, mindfulness and much more.... If you've been thinking of starting Yoga, this is your perfect opportunity. If you've already been practicing for a while, you'll also find great value in this course. The 5-week Foundations of Yoga Course is our way of welcoming new students into the practice and Kanti community (or as a refresher for more seasoned practitioners). This course will provide students the physiological benefits of exercise as well as tools to calm the mind, soften tension and access insight. Yoga is both a physical practice as well as a pathway to a more balanced life. Together we will explore the physical practice by breaking down fundamental yoga poses and terminology, as well as breaking down basic flow and breathing techniques. We will spend time each session exploring philosophy with the weaving of yogic guidance throughout our practice. Conducted in a casual manner, questions are encouraged throughout and with time set aside at the end of the practice to converse and integrate knowledge. This 5-week course will leave you feeling empowered to continue your yoga practice with many styles and classes available across the Kanti timetable. This course will have availability to limited numbers, as Jamie wants to be able to give everyone individual attention, best to book early so you don't miss out. 03.01.2022 FRONTLINE YOGA @ Kanti Yoga Every Tuesday at 11.15am This is a free, weekly class for Police, Paramedics, Firefighters, Defence, Healthcare Workers, SES/RFS and Surf Life Savers.... Frontline yoga ia a not-for profit organisation which provides Yoga for mental and physical strength and resilience. Classes are delivered in a trauma sensitive way. To learn more, please hear from one of Frontline Yoga's founders, Chris Thompson-Lang. As we head into this busy time of year, we thought it would fun to play a little BINGO! There’s great prizes to be won either for yourself, or as a gift to someone special.... Our BINGO will encourage you to do little things that are good for you, little things that are good for others, and little things that are good for the studio and our community as a whole. For each completed line on our BINGO sheet, you’ll get an entry into the prize draw, a completed line can be in any direction including diagonal. FIRST PRIZE IS ONE MONTH UNLIMITED YOGA for yourself or you can gift it to a friend with a gift voucher. SECOND PRIZE IS TWO WEEKS UNLIMITED YOGA, again for yourself or a friend. There will be 10 CONSOLATION PRIZES ranging from Kanti merchandise and candles to Yoga props etc. You’ll write your name on a bingo sheet which we will keep at the studio for you, we’ll stamp it for you every time a square is completed. 02.01.2022 In every good practice It's important not to forget your gratitude rituals. Be present in the moment and list out (on paper or in your head) all the things you’re grateful for. Breathe in, breathe out for 5 minutes alone and focus on your heart centre.... Follow the day through by telling those in your household three things you appreciate about them and get in your back yard for five minutes if you can to enjoy the sun, fresh air and brilliance this earth has to offer.
