19.01.2022 It has been so exciting to discover the nests made by various birds at kanturk this year. Here are a few we have found. While the nest in the branch on the dam is either a dusky moor hen or duck, the birds that have created the other tiny nests aren't so obvious. Any ideas? By the way, we are really enjoying seeing how people are creating their own dream weddings at Kanturk.

18.01.2022 After searching the bush for the nest of the Grey Fantail without luck, look what I finally found! Such an exciting find of such a gregarious and spectacular bird. What an intricate work of craftsmanship! We are loving the birds in the garden, just saying.

07.01.2022 I know we are a bit unusual at Kanturk where we provide handmade soap, assorted organic teas and fresh flowers for guests along with the basics of coffee, milk and biscuits, but we were surprised to find during a recent trip to France and Spain that the level of service is completely different. We didn't stay in one place that provided the basics. Some didn't even provide a fan in the heat of summer. One had a bath but had removed the plug so people couldn't us it. One had no locks on bedroom doors despite renting them out separately. Just a word of advise it pays to read the fine print and study photos carefully before booking particularly when in Europe.

04.01.2022 We are at Frankston Arts Centre today as part of the U3A Expo to promote the fundraiser we are running for Frankston Hospital called Dead Men Talking at Cube 37 on October 29. It is a great day and great event all round.
