25.01.2022 LUNCH MENU ONLY THURSDAY Due to a lack of volunteers, the canteen will only be serving a lunch menu on Thursday this week. Recess orders will NOT be available...... With over 300 orders on a Thursday it is impossible for Kirstin to manage that huge volume without volunteer support. PLEASE consider signing up for canteen roster if you are able to help even if it’s not your classes turn.

24.01.2022 SECOND HAND UNIFORMS The uniform shop is taking donations of any good condition second hand uniform items. If you have anything suitable please send them to school with your child in a plastic bag labelled SECOND HAND UNIFORMS and they can be left downstairs outside the uniform shop. 21.01.2022 CANTEEN UPDATE We currently only have 1 helper signed up for each canteen day this week. Can YOU help 1/2T fill their roster? It is becoming increasing difficult to find volunteers to help in the canteen. This means we will be facing significantly reduced menus for both recess and lunch times and worse case, a full canteen closure. If you value this service for our kids then please help out. At WACSSO State Council this past weekend, Sandra Vale National Allergy Strategy Manager presented information on the work currently being done to develop national standards for the prevention and management of anaphylaxis in schools and childcare. To help inform these standards the National Allergy Strategy would like to hear feedback from parents via a national online survey which focusses on how severe allergies should be managed in sc...hools and childcare facilities. The survey takes about 15 minutes to complete and all information collected will be anonymous. 12.01.2022 Welcome back to the 2021 school year! We hope your kids all had a wonderful first day back with their friends and teachers. You may have noticed the new swings and hammocks have been finished down at the wobbly playground! If you haven’t seen them yet check out the pics below... Thanks to all the fundraising efforts from 2020 we have managed to complete all the playground works now! I’m sure the nature playground will be much loved for many years to come. We look forward to assisting with more projects and successful fundraising this year.

04.01.2022 SCHOOL BANKING IS BACK Wednesday mornings downstairs in the uniform shop. There is a special reward for any students who made a deposit in term one, see the update from Commonwealth Bank below... Due to the pause of the school banking program, CBA acknowledge that students were unable to make deposits in the usual way and therefore missed out on receiving tokens for their deposits. CBA have decided to give active School Banking students an ex-gratia reward item. This means that any bankers who completed a deposit in Term 1 will be eligible to receive a reward. i.e Any student who made at least one deposit in Term 1 will be eligible to receive a reward item without needing 10 tokens. To collect your reward please attend the school banking on Wednesday mornings

01.01.2022 Canteen - WE NEED YOU! The canteen will open from week 3 onwards (commencing Tuesday 16 and Thursday 18 February) providing recess and lunch options every Tuesday and Thursday unless otherwise advised. As you may know, our canteen relies on volunteers to provide a cost-effective and healthy service, and without volunteers we're unable to operate at full capacity. With fewer volunteers, we may need to either reduce menu options, or potentially close on selected days. Mums, dad...s, aunts/uncles, grandparents or neighbours - anyone over 18. All are welcome and tasks are simple - cutting fruit, prepping toasted sandwiches/wraps/pizza/salads, packing completed orders - your support makes a huge difference! Canteen volunteers can work either half shifts from 8.45am-10.45am or 10.45-1pm, or a full shift 8.45-1pm. Parents volunteering for a half shift receive a free recess for their child/ren, and those volunteering for a full shift receive a free lunch for their child/ren. Hand washing and following strict hygiene measures are of critical importance for all those who are volunteering. We have found the most efficient way to manage volunteer requirements is to assign every class in the school the duty of providing the volunteers for each week. Each class will be assigned responsibility for 2x weeks per year, once in terms 1-2, and once more in terms 3-4.
