25.01.2022 Central Coast residents are being asked to continue getting tested if they have even the mildest COVID-19 symptoms, after the state’s sewage surveillance progra...m detected traces of the virus at a treatment plant in Kincumber serving the Gosford area on Monday 21 December. The sewerage system includes the suburbs of Niagara Park, Narara, Lisarow, Wyoming, West Gosford, North Gosford, Somersby, Kariong, Point Clare, Tascott, Koolewong, Springfield, Erina, Terrigal, Wamberal, Forresters Beach, North Avoca, Avoca Beach, Copacabana, Macmasters Beach, Bouddi, Green Point, Yattalunga, Kincumber, Kincumber South, Bensville, Saratoga, Davistown, Empire Bay, St Huberts Island, Daleys Point, Killcare, Killcare Heights, Hardys Bay, Pretty Beach and Wagstaffe, in which around 140,000 people reside. NSW Health is aware of a COVID-19 positive case on the Central Coast, as well as a case from western Sydney who visited Avoca while infectious last weekend. NSW Health continues to call on people in Sydney’s Upper North Shore to get tested if they have even the mildest COVID-19 symptoms, after traces of the virus were detected at a Hornsby Heights treatment plant on 19 December. Two recent COVID-19 cases in the area are linked to the Avalon cluster. NSW Health is concerned there could be other active cases in the local community in people who have not been tested and who might incorrectly assume their symptoms are just a cold. People in these areas must monitor for any COVID-19 symptoms and immediately get tested should even the mildest of symptoms appear. Symptoms of COVID-19 include runny nose, sore/scratchy throat, cough, shortness of breath, fever, loss of taste or loss of smell. After testing, you must self-isolate until a negative result is received.

10.01.2022 IMPORTANT UDPATE TO TRAVEL ADVICE Overnight, NSW has updated their advice that affected areas cover Greater Sydney (including Blue Mountains), Central Coa...st and Wollongong. The list of affected Local Government Areas (LGAs) has not changed this morning, but it is important you keep checking back for updates as the situation develops. A full list of areas impacted is at www.covid19.act.gov.au/community/travel/nsw. If you have further questions, we encourage you to call the COVID-19 Helpline on (02) 6207 7244. We encourage anyone considering travel to NSW to reconsider your need to leave the ACT. Cases are increasing and community transmission is occurring in multiple areas of the state. We want to thank everyone for their patience, questions and willingness to change your plans at such late notice. COVID-19 is not over and we must keep Canberra safe. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- From 11.59pm tonight (20 December 2020), the ACT will have new quarantine requirements for anyone from Greater Sydney (including Blue Mountains), Central Coast and Wollongong. The Chief Health Officer will be signing a new Public Health Direction later tonight to make these arrangements legally enforceable. A full list of areas impacted is at www.covid19.act.gov.au/community/travel/nsw. Anyone who arrives in the ACT from these areas after 11.59pm tonight will be required to quarantine. Returning ACT residents must notify ACT Health before returning and will be able to quarantine at home. More information on this will be available later tonight at www.covid19.act.gov.au/travel. If you are not an ACT resident and you have been in Greater Sydney (including Blue Mountains), Central Coast and Wollongong, our message is simple: . If you come to the ACT, you will be required to quarantine, and anyone staying at the same premises with you will also be required to quarantine. . There have now been 68 confirmed cases linked to the Northern Beaches cluster, as reported by NSW Health this morning. Concerningly, we have seen transmission events take place in Greater Sydney, outside the Northern Beaches LGA. New advice and restrictions have also been put in place by other states and territories. Before you travel, check the rules in each jurisdiction you are planning to travel through. Avoiding unnecessary travel is an important measure we can take to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19. This is in addition to maintaining physical distancing, practising good hand and respiratory hygiene, staying at home if we're unwell and getting tested if we have symptoms of COVID-19. We know this will be tough for everyone, but it’s important we keep our community safe from COVID-19. A list of COVID-affected areas in NSW can be found at www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/latest-news-and-updates More information at www.covid19.act.gov.au
