22.01.2022 Awesome seminars with Shihan Glenn today. The juniors focused on Geki Sai Dai Ichi and Ni, while the seniors were treated to some nice flow drills, goju kumite and a run through most of our advanced kata and application. It was nice to catch up with all the Seiwakai instructors and share some different bunkai ideas.

20.01.2022 I dont usually like to announce this, let alone on Facebook, but I would like to share some exciting news with you all in the hopes that I can inspire you to keep training hard in your karate journey. I have been training now for 16 years and this past weekend I successfully tested for my 4th Dan in Seiwakai. Many of you are well on your way towards black belt and I want to encourage you to keep applying yourselves to your training. Karate is about developing both the mind a...nd body and they are equally important. Every time you apply yourself in training you improve, even if you cant see the improvement. You only have to look back to when you started to see how far you have come. Karate is a lifelong journey of self development and you will get out of it exactly what you put into it. 17.01.2022 ATTENTION All students attending the practice tournament next Sunday 24th: Shihan Glenn Stephenson will be conducting a kata seminar the day before (Saturday 23rd) to assist you in preparing your kata for the Sunday tournament. The cost is $20 for one or both sessions. If you intend on competing I highly recommend you take advantage of this opportunity to get some specialised instruction from the Head of Australia for Gojuryu Karate Do Seiwakai and Director for Oceania. 17.01.2022 Hi all, I hope you are well. Just an update on the current training restrictions. There was some discussion with the online students that we may be able to do some park training. However, this is not the case. ... All organised sports are restricted until Stage 2 mid June. We are still running weekly live zoom classes, and we have a number of pre-recorded videos, including kata videos via google classroom. Please contact me if you would like to get involved. 15.01.2022 A massive congratulations to our assistant instructors, Alex de Vries, Jethro Miranda and Jemar Miranda who achieved their Seiwakai Shodan (1st Dan) Saturday 12th December. I've had the pleasure of teaching these guys for the last 7 years and am proud to see how far they have come. They are an asset to our dojo and wonderful role models for all our other students. 04.01.2022 It was an awesome weekend of karate! Not one but two kata seminars conducted by Shihan Glenn Stephenson on Saturday. Followed by the JKF Gojukai Selections Tournament on Sunday where the students of Karate Academy Capalaba tore up the mats with all students taking home at least one medal. We are all super proud of you!!!

04.01.2022 Had an awesome afternoon sweating it out with the Brisbane contingency of Seiwakai Australia. Worked on our basic warm up, followed by a detailed analysis of Kata Seisan. It was great to get together with the advanced karateka in this state. Let's keep up the good work people. See you in a month!
