25.01.2022 A must for all karate ka no matter your rank
25.01.2022 KARATE CLASSES ARE BACK ON!! Starting from Monday 8th June classes are back on as per usual at the Byford Recreation Centre (5pm) and Thursday 11th June (6pm-8pm). WOOHOO!! Unfortunately the Byford hall venue has NOT been released as yet to external hirers but Ill keep trying and will let everyone know as soon as I have a date when it will be opened.... Please note that parents will need to observe social distancing rules so will not be allowed in the hall during training. There will be hand sanitizer at the door for everybody. Students can train as normal. As per usual, if you are unwell, please stay home.
24.01.2022 A lesson for many things and one of the joys I get from teaching.
24.01.2022 *IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT* Following the PMs address regarding indoor sporting clubs, it is with reluctance that I have to announce that our Byford Dojo has to close its doors. Any unused time will be auto transferred to next term. COVID-19 is a real issue and we must all do our part to slow its progress through our community. That being said, dont forget all of the great content we already have on the facebook group page and look out for more to come in the following days and weeks.
24.01.2022 For information about end of year training and our wind up on the 21st, please see the members group page. If youre not a member, click the registration button
24.01.2022 IMPORTANT COVID-19 MESSAGE KARATE CLASSES ARE RUNNING AS NORMAL but with some changes to class structures to keep us in line with the latest updates from the Government and as safe as possible. Due to the recommended 1.5m distance rule, partner work, kumite and such will not be practiced at this time. Also lines will be staggered one forward and one back. ... We will be focusing on Kihon (basics), combinations and kata. The fact that we are able to train and practice these aspects of our art is fantastic and one of the factors that sets us apart from other arts and sports. Remember, Please wash your hands regularly. Please dont come to classes if the following applies to you: Have travelled overseas within the last 14 days Have symptoms of fever, sore throat, cough or shortness of breath. Stay safe and Ill see you in class :) Sensei Russell
22.01.2022 last week was our first week back and Id like to thank all those that joined in the class and look forward to seeing everyone else soon. At this stage we are starting back slowly and there will inevitably be some changes. Sensei Russell

15.01.2022 Very Proud moment yesterday with the first Black Belt produced by Kofukan Karate Byford Dojo. Aidan successfully graded for his Black Belt at the Warnbro Dojo in front of the Black Belt Panel. Its a proud moment as a father and an honour as an instructor to see such fine students coming through our system.
