With your feedback, we've kept the class times the same. However, each class now has a unique Zoom room so that our instructors can give you details on anything you may need. Most of the time its just going to be a water bottle and you, but some days we might need you to grab something heavy or... maybe a towel. 12.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Christmas is just around the corner and to celebrate we will be throwing our annual Karate School Christmas Party. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we can only permit a number of people inside the dojo. So to make it easier, we will be dividing the Saturday 19th of December into two parties.... Kids Christmas Party 9:00am - 11.00am This will be a couple of hours of games, karate and a special visit from Santa. Christmas Party 11.30am - 1.30pm For the older students and friends of the Karate school, we will be running a casual party to wind up the final days of the year. For both parties, we are having a sausage sizzle (selling for $1 each) but we do encourage you to bring a plate of food to share. Please also make sure to wear your uniform as we will like to take photos. If you would like to attend, please RSVP which party and how many people are coming to [email protected] by Thursday 17th of December. 10.01.2022 Você já deve ter ouvido falar do Kata Sansai? Sabia que ele é do estilo Gensei Ry? Veja que legal este pequeno relato. Seiken Shukumine, o fundador da Genseiry... aceitou seu primeiro aluno, Kunihiko Tosa, em 1952. Seiken Shukumine e Kunihiko Tosa, entre outros, trabalharam juntos no estabelecimento da organização Genseiry. Seiken Shukumine mudou para Taido em 1962, mas Kunihiko Tosa continuou promovendo Genseiry no Japão e também internacionalmente. O izumi Gakuen, honbu dojo de Tóquio ( sede suprema ) foi estabelecido em 1959 por Kunihiko Tosa. Este dojo recebeu o nome de Butokukai e se tornou o honbu dojo da Federação Internacional de Karate-do de Genseiry no mesmo ano. Em 1965, um dojo adicional foi construído em Asaka , na província de Saitama . Embora o joizumi Gakuen, dojo de Tóquio ainda exista hoje, a sede suprema foi transferida de izumi Gakuen, Tóquio para o novo prédio de Asaka em 1965. A organização Genseiry fundada por Seiken Shukumine em 1953 foi dissolvida no final de 1961. Esse também é parcialmente o motivo para Kunihiko Tosa estabelecer a nova sede do GKIF em Asaka (Japão) em 1965. Este edifício é hoje sede oficial e honbu dojo do GKIF. A Federação Internacional de Karate-do Genseiry tem cerca de 150 dojos em todo o mundo, mas a maioria deles encontram-se no Japão. 10.01.2022 Dear Parents, students, members and friends, It's with great pleasure that I can announce that we are back open again! From Tuesday November 10th 2020 we will be back for in-person classes for both kids and adults!... The Covidsafe requirements will be as they were previously with a few added items I need to highlight. 1. We are still only catering for 10 students per class and all students must BOOK online. This can be done through our web site on the Facebook page or at : https://www.picktime.com/thekarateschool 2. We will still be doing temperature checks of all students, instructors and staff. 3. Masks MUST BE worn entering or exiting the Dojo by 12 years or older, or when not actually participating in class. All instructors and staff will wear masks at all times. 4. NO KIAI allowed! 5. We will be removing the MATS from the floor and be training on the wooden floor like they do in Japan. This ensures that we can clean the floor between each class and there is less chance of any stray virus particles being embedded in the rubber floors. All other conditions will be explained by myself and Maria in class. All classes will still be broadcasted on ZOOM for those that cannot attend or wish to continue remote learning. Please remember hand hygiene, book for a class and if you are even feeling a little bit sick DO NOT attend class. If you have any symptoms no matter how mild (flu-like, cough, fever etc.) please get TESTED! I'm so happy to be able to see you all in person again! See you on Tuesday or in the coming weeks ahead. 07.01.2022 Congratulations to The Karate School (Genseiryu)'s Sean Huang and Sasha Wolf for their performance today in the Shotokan Cup Tournament. Sean won 2 Silver Medals for the mixed 6-7 year old boys Kata and kumite. Sasha Wolf won Silver in the male 14-15 years 3rd kyu and over Kumite.
