24.01.2022 Yesterday's wedding between Dhani and Deborah at Belair Park Country Club brought a whole lot of mixed emotions. It was truly a beautiful wedding and I was so happy and felt so blessed to be their Celebrant but it also brought me great sadness as it was my last wedding as a Marriage Celebrant. I had so many people come up to me after the ceremony to tell me how beautiful the ceremony was and how I had done a wonderful job. I can't tell you how much those lovely comments m...eant to me under the circumstances. Thank you everyone for your support over the last six years as a Marriage Celebrant. I have married hundreds of couples and it has truly been an amazing journey. So now my next journey begins - firstly chemotherapy commencing next Tuesday for 18 weeks, surgery after a little break from the treatment and then the 6 weeks of radiotherapy. I am absolutely determined to kick this cancer's butt. I have so much more to do in this life and am determined to beat this illness. See more

23.01.2022 Beautiful weather today. Cheeky just loves to relax outside on our outdoor setting in this weather. One happy little cat.

21.01.2022 Hi everyone. Just reiterating that it would appear that my facebook account has been hacked. Lots of my friends have received suspicious messenger messages. Please make sure you do not respond to them. Trying to get the problem sorted.

19.01.2022 Lovely feedback from my very last ceremony ever on the 6th January for Dhani and Deborah. "The ceremony was fantastic. Thank you so much for coordinating it all. We loved it and got a lot of lovely comments about how beautiful it was and what a great job you did. We couldn't have asked for anything more and you were the perfect Celebrant. " Thank you so much Dhani and Deborah for your beautiful comments. Wishing you both every happiness. Really nice to go out on a high.

17.01.2022 A very bittersweet day today. I received notification from the Attorney General's Department of the formal acceptance of my resignation as a Celebrant due to ill health. Very sad that this part of my life is coming to an end but so honoured to have had the opportunity to marry so many amazing couples and to have worked with and met so many wonderful suppliers associated with the wedding industry. I have been so lucky to form so many beautiful friendships. My treatment regime will bring me to the end of the year so it is now time to fully focus on my recovery.

16.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who very kindly have sent me the Coles minis for my darling little granddaughter Caitlyn. You should have seen the look of delight on her dear little face when I gave them to her. Incredulously the only one we don't have now are the eggs. Would love to complete the set for her if I can. So if anyone has some unwanted eggs I would be extremely greatful. Nothing to swap I'm afraid. Thank you.

15.01.2022 Can anyone tell me please how you access your saved posts in Facebook? Thank you.

13.01.2022 Having completed my chemotherapy late April, followed by a mastectomy in June, tomorrow I embark on the next part of my cancer treatment - radiotherapy 5 times a week for at least 5 weeks. I think after 25 trips in 5 weeks to Flinders Private Hospital our car will be able to take itself there! Not looking forward to all the travelling but at least the treatment times should be quite short compared to the hours and hours the chemo took.

06.01.2022 Hi everyone. I hope some of you don't find this post intrusive. It is just that I have been asked by so many people how my treatment is going I am finding it difficult to respond to everyone personally. I had my first round of chemo on the 9th January. A very long day. Left home at 9.45 and didn't get home til 6.00. Felt reasonably good for a couple of days and then hit a brick wall where for 4 days I felt absolutely terrible. Did nothing but rest. Very nauseous,... really bad headaches and zero energy. For over another week felt very ordinary and came good the third week, although very tired. Second treatment was yesterday. Another long day. Left here at 8.45 and got hot home at 5.00. In the mean time 80% of my hair fell out so I took the bold move to go to the hairdresser to get a 0 clipper cut. 100% bald now which looks awful. Have a wig from the Cancer Council but to me it is obvious that it is a wig so have been wearing a turbanlike scarf thingy which looks ok. Might consider buying a nice wig if they are not too dear. Felt absolutely dreadful after yesterday's treatment but felt reasonable today. Had to have a special injection today because the first round of chemo severely compromised my white blood cell count which meant no immunity so hopefully that will fix things this time. My Oncoligist advised to expect a couple of bad weeks and then one good week in the three week chemo cycle which seems pretty spot on so far. 4 more 3 weekly cycles to go. Thank you all for your lovely messages of support. They mean the world to me and are very much appreciated. Take care xx See more

04.01.2022 Hi everyone. Having lost all my hair due to chemotherapy, this is my temporary new look until my hair grows back. Found it hard to find something natural but at least it will be easy to take care of. Certainly looks better than being bald that's for sure.

01.01.2022 After 25 trips down to Flinders Private Hospital over the last five weeks (each round trip was 150 kms which meant we travelled 750 kms each week and in total 3,750 kms) I have finished my radiotherapy treatment. So grateful to Kev for his love, support and his driving during this time. I certainly could not have done it all on my own. Started out feeling ok but really struggled with extreme fatigue over the last couple of weeks. Also have a nasty skin burn which will r...equire quite a bit of attention over the next few weeks. Really glad this stage of my treatment is finished. Where to from here? Appoitntments with all three of my oncology Specialists on the 17th October and in the mean time medication which I start this time next week and take for 5 years. I don't want to think of all the negative side effects associated with this medication. I have to take it so that is that. And in a few weeks time I also start a course of injections which hopefully will prevent the cancer from returning. Fingers crossed. Thank you everyone for your concern, love and support during this difficult time. xx See more
