14.01.2022 It’s that time of year with a plentiful supply of lemons and limes at our disposal to make this lemon, lime and coconut cake. #lemonlimecoconutcake #lemoncake

12.01.2022 Photos don’t do the occasion justice. Twilight cruise on Macquarie Harbour in Strahan. Josef Chromy wines, amazing food especially the local oysters with cucumber pickled ginger and soy. #westernwildstasmania

12.01.2022 Tullah cottage cafe. Great break on the trip to from North West Coast 2 hour journey. Stuart and Peter make the best coffee, have created a great atmosphere here and have some quirky things happening .... like this bird bath. Recycling at its best I say. #recycle

11.01.2022 Prunes in green tea and honey are a regular on Penghana’s breakfast table..... sure are popular! #prunes

10.01.2022 The next renovation project. It’s sits on the hill on the opposite side of Queenstown. We purchased this site some 18 months ago and whilst the transformation is still a couple of years away and it will a far cry from what we have created at Penghana, we are excited at the prospect of its potential. Those of you who know me well, are shaking their heads, those who don’t know me, will also be shaking their heads . If you’re curious check out ‘barn dominions’.

09.01.2022 We waited 3 years for a piano tuner to come and tune Penghana’s pianola. We now know it is American and built in 1923. Assessment: it is in great original condition and worth restoring if we choose to spend approximately $8,500. However with just a clean, a service and a few bits re-aligned or tightened here and there..... the old girl sounds great #old #pianolas #piano

08.01.2022 Sunday night dinner with friends

04.01.2022 This is what Queenstown has become. Expecting great crowds this weekend

03.01.2022 Lemons have so many wonderful uses. We have a leak we can’t fix till the weather is kind for long enough. This solution for mould works a treat. Put a container of water with slices of lemon in it (I use 2-3 depending on size) and hide it under or behind your furniture. After several days you get what you see in photo no. 2. The mould just ‘jumps’ onto the lemon. It also prevents that musky stale smell. In this climate when you have the rainfall we do this is a lifesaver solution without huge expense. #householdtips #lemons

02.01.2022 We’ve just arrived in Hobart for the Tourism industry conference (TICT) tomorrow. Great accommodation, very COVID safe .... I searched high and low for tea, coffee, tea spoons etc so I called reception to ask if they were hiding as I couldn’t find them. It turns out we have to ask for the supplies. So my request was ‘coffee pods’ . Some 10 mins later there was a tray delivered with 6 ‘coffee pots’. Something other than pods was obviously heard when the request was passed on.

01.01.2022 Posted @withregram @penghanabedandbreakfast Posted @withregram @penghanabedandbreakfast Now we are welcoming guests daily again, there’s lots of ‘detail’ to keep up to date with. Many people ask how time consuming this task is. I look at it as my ‘quiet’ time. Guests love the result. #waxsealstamp #welcomeletter
