22.01.2022 Thinking of all the cafe, restaurant and shop owners out there that have had to make tough decisions, let go staff, close doors, change offerings overnight. Also the people employed who have lost jobs. I hope the business support and funding is starting to come through for them. It really is a challenging time, but have been super impressed by how many businesses have adapted. ... Am looking forward to the day I can sit in a cafe again and enjoy some time out of my day like I use to do including at Indulge Fine Belgian Chocolates, Cafe El Beso , Bendigo El Gordo, Bendigo and Pogo Espresso . 22.01.2022 Still going with the front verandah reno - it’s a big job! In a weird kind of way it’s been nice to be stuck at home and focus on getting this done ( in between working on Stay Social, Make a Change Australia and home schooling of course! ) One of the best parts has been having chats to neighbours and friends as they pass by on their walks etc. Stopping to chat about the progress of the house and how things are going generally. 19.01.2022 Excited to be moving to a brand new office next week with Synergize Hub. I’ve been part of this Hub co-working family since it started in 2012. It’s been housed in Haven Home Safe offices all that time and being part of it has helped so much in the growth of Jumpleads / Make a Change as well as kept my sanity (anyone who runs small businesses knows those challenging days when feel like chucking it all in). Have loved being there and practically being part of the Haven team, ...great people, inspiring organisation. Now time for the Hub to move on with the opportunity to grow. Brand new refitted offices and space as part of the Williamson Street Business Centre. You will find us above the Bendigo Post Office. There is a launch next week which you are welcome to attend and have a sneak peek. But you must get tickets - hope to see you there!

16.01.2022 Two weeks since the full extent of this pandemic started to hit when in one day the US shut flights from Europe, the PM banned events of 500+ and the Grand Prix was cancelled. So much has happened since then - for me I have been through all the emotions as I came to terms with various impacts on business and life, but today I feel so calm and grateful. This is the view from a spot I go on my most favorite walk from home. I’ve been doing this walk so much more lately and rea...lly enjoying just having the time to slow down and enjoy life’s simple pleasures - spending time with my family, connecting more with people (online) and just being present to the joy of life. I’ve also been working extremely hard on revamping and pivoting my work to make a difference at a much bigger scale than previously thought possible. Who knows what will happen from here, but right now I feel more tuned into the positives than the negatives and that is a good thing. I hope you are doing ok too. 16.01.2022 Chris and I enjoying the gorgeous upstairs area of @msbatterhams a few weeks back now who have now of course had to close their doors. Reminiscing as I think of all businesses who are going through a really tough time at the moment. As are many others too - healthcare workers, people who live by themselves, stay at home Mum’s or Dad’s with little kids, people who have lost their jobs, anyone who has fallen ill from the virus and many more I’m sure. 08.01.2022 Don’t know about you but I’ve been feeling very anxious these last few days. It feels apocalyptic doesn’t it?? Anyway to enable me to stay calm, grounded and level headed I took the following steps: - took solace in some of the little joys in life, like this image of this Hoya, a favorite flower ... - went to bed early listening to calming meditative narrative - went for a 5km walk in my neighbourhood, tuning into nature along the way - listened to some of my favorite calming music (always love a bit of @missyhigginsmusic for this) - watched a few positive clips in my social media of humanity at its best Ah that feels better, now I can get on with contributing to a better world and doing my bit to get us through this worrying time. If you’ve been feeling anxious too, please take care and do what you need to do too. Take care everyone xx

05.01.2022 Thinking back to the most incredible trip we had to Canada earlier this year. It really was a trip of a lifetime. We had talked about doing this for so long and mid last year when an opportunity arose, we decided to go for it and book the trip. It’s still hard to believe how lucky we were being able to go, returning just as Covid was being discovered in China.... 03.01.2022 No rest for the wicked !! Spent my weekend using a heat gun to strip paint off the windows of our 100+ year old home. It’s part of a big Reno we are doing which started off replacing front verandah but has grown to re stumping, re roofing, re weather boarding and re painting all the outside. This one job of stripping paint has taken me hours and hours. Probably sounds crazy but it’s quite satisfying to heat and melt the paint then strip it off panel by panel. Perhaps it’s... a good metaphor to making anything happen in life - it takes time and patience and literally chipping away at something until eventually you get to the final result and it’s amazing. Is this something you can relate to?? We should look at what positive changes we made during this time and make sure we keep those positive changes going.
