25.01.2022 MY DESIGN & SALES APPROACH: I'm aiming to produce limited edition, chic, glamorous garments for women who appreciate quality, individualism and timeless style. My garments won't be competing with the cheap prices of mass produced goods from o/seas. My prices will reflect exclusivity, beautiful fabrics and my considerable time in design/construction. I make each garment with attention to detail and often include handsewn finishes and semi-custom fit. I value fair, ethical st...andards and support local suppliers. My products will include: # pre-order designs # one-off designs. # hire garments. # my design service for individual requirements. I'm aiming to produce a select number of items per month and will display these on Facebook, Instagram and a future website. If you LOVE something, I would encourage you to act quickly, before fabric supplies diminish! 22.01.2022 NEW RELEASE! THE LOVELACE SKIRT AND BODYSUIT - ONE OFF - SIZE 12 NOW SOLD 8/8/2020... This captivating skirt and body suit is a winning combination of sexy and sophisticated. Step out in elegance and high style. I have designed the A-line skirt with the beautiful scalloped edge at the centre front. It has a natural cut hemline around the delicate flower motifs and extends into a short train. It is unlined, for the popular see-through look, however a short nude slip is available for purchase, if preferred. The plunge front bodysuit is made in a high quality lycra blend fabric, lined at the front. It features a gold centre back zip, shoulder pads and a sash that can be tied in a bow or left hanging to hide the tummy area. Wear it with stick on bust cups, for a little more support. 01.01.2022 MY STORY THROWBACK TO 1993... I was a primary school teacher, had studied some previous clothing construction units at high school and uni (home economics) but had no formal training in fashion design. That year I came across an Australian wide competition advertised by Women's Day, to design a gown for an Australian pageant contestant to be worn in Brussels, Belgium. With a childhood fashion design dream ticking inside me and a whole lot of hope.... I cheekily entered 11 d...esigns (see attached photos). A few months later I was phoned by Woman's Day and invited to an award lunch at the Sydney Hilton. There in the hotel foyer, was my black and white design "Lucille" flanked by many other entrants, many of whom were lecturers and students from the infamous Whitehouse school of design. To my complete surprise, I had won!! Richard Wilkins (host) presented me with an airline ticket to Europe, to see my gown paraded. My gown design was made by a Sydney couturier, apparently with a final construction worth of $3500... big money in those days! I then set about designing my own outfit to wear... see through lace shorts and off shoulder top set. ( I knew it would raise attention, as see through lace shorts were unheard of back then... lol!) Fast forward to Belgium that year, my gown was paraded on stage at the "Cirque Royale" and my design came 3rd from 52 countries. France was the winner.... but I felt privileged to be an awardee, alongside a nation renowned for couture! Ill never forget the murmers through the crowd as I made my way to the stage in my cheeky shorts ensemble, to receive my silver Wembley trophy...lol! It was a life achievement I shall always feel very proud of. However I chose to remain teaching, got married and gave up my fashion design dreams... But those years have not been regretable. I spent time building my confidence, developing my creative flair and applying my passions in various areas. Now I'm no longer married or teaching and I've recently fought a battle with breast cancer. My experiences have ignited my artistic abilities, self worth, strength and courage. My little design dreams are now set to go....and I LOVE the excitement of designing for YOU!!! I'm truly grateful for your support in my journey. xxx
