24.01.2022 Day 7 Tomorrow night the summer solstice is even more significant this year - it is a very important time astrologically.... When I was The Seekers I sang their song "Bright Star" at the Melbourne Carols with the group. If ever there was a time for that song, tomorrow is it!... 12.01.2022 Today is a day of so many mixed emotions as I said my final goodbyes to this amazing Australian - Ron Tudor who passed away on Friday. Ron Tudor MBE will always be an icon in Australian music. He championed the Made in Australia campaign and gave his all for all the artists he got behind and believed in. I dont think there will ever be another like him - his love of music, his passion and belief in his Artists and his drive to do what it takes to make things work. Truly in...credible. Thank you Ron for believing in me and starting me on my adult journey as a performer. Thanks Ron also for introducing me to so many great people in the village of South Melbourne through the doors of the great AAV studios. For introducing me to so many wonderful talented people who must have caught your bug and also gave their all - in no particular order Ernie Rose, Ross Cockle, Jimbo Barton, Peter (Sully) Sullivan. So many memories with Ron and the late Ross Burton ... so much fun and so much care. I am forever grateful. 12.01.2022 Some people have mentioned they have had some trouble clicking through for tickets for the performance on Saturday night (http://www.wiilpa.org/book/songbalm-melbourne)...doing some investigations it seemed to be an issue with the Internet explorer browser - no problem with Safari or Chrome (just letting you know in case it was an issue for others)...all seems to be fixed now (please keep us advised if you have any other issues)....rehearsals today with Michael who is just ba...ck from Europe and down from the Sunshine Coast (guitars and two harps and piano) have gone really well! Lisa Jane Bell (stylist) is planning some of her special magic in the space...not long to go now... 08.01.2022 If youre able to tune into Channel 7s weekend sunrise this morning I will be there briefly at 9.05 am speaking about next weekends Inland Sea of Sound Festival in Bathurst NSW. Ill be singing a snippet of Min Mias Wirradjirri song Nungeena Tya with members of a local choir. Ill be performing with other artists as part of the Wiradyuri welcome ceremony on Saturday 29 February at 7 pm accompanied by Russell Smith (didg), Michael Kokinos (guitar/piano), Ella Jamieson (cell...o) and a local string chamber orchestra. Other artists at the Festival include Missy Higgins and Killing Heidi. So looking forward to Min Mia being there for the event next weekend.
