25.01.2022 "Over the past year, a few people the Prime Minister included have berated Varsha Yajman for skipping school. But after receiving her HSC results on Tuesday morning, the 17-year-old Gosford High School graduate, who was part of the organising team for September's Sydney School Strike 4 Climate, doubts she jeopardised her education too much."
24.01.2022 You can no longer say Morrison didn't achieve something this year: his office ordered this painting be removed. Funding the arts has never been the LNP strong point.
22.01.2022 In a free-market capitalist economy, it is investment changes like this that have major impacts for the Australian economy if we don't change our fossil fuel reliance. The risk of inaction on climate change is quite likely to have far more of a negative effect than our government seemingly anticipates.
21.01.2022 "This would mean listening to people who’ve spent 60,000 years here. Not copying, necessarily, listening. And listening, above all, to nature, heeding the fires’ overwhelming lesson. Forget the Aussie flag, the flag of dominion. This we should carve on our hearts: there is no economy without ecology." https://www.smh.com.au//survival-by-respect-or-death-by-st
21.01.2022 "At the moment, Australia is the hottest place in the world"
19.01.2022 The BBC easily convey the creative accounting being attempted by the Australian government to disregard our climate emissions. We're not fooling anyone. We're one of the highest per capita emitters in the world and we have a responsibility to significantly improve on that.
18.01.2022 I managed to find Abigail Boyd in the huge crowd at Sydney Climate Strike.
18.01.2022 We really need to be working with the scientists' reports.
17.01.2022 It seems there's a few people requiring this service. Hahaha!
17.01.2022 So, senior emergency service leaders requested meetings with the Prime Minister and/or Angus Taylor earlier in the year. These experienced people wanted to warn the government of "unprecedented fire danger" as a matter of urgency. "We, the undersigned, who are former senior Australian fire and emergency service leaders, have observed how Australia is experiencing increasingly catastrophic extreme weather events that are putting lives, properties and livelihoods at greater ri...sk and overwhelming our emergency services." It appears it's easier to give "thoughts and prayers" after the catastrophe than to acknowledge climate change and the action required to avoid or prepare for catastrophe. What an utter failure in leadership! #climateemergency #cimatechange #leadership #whencanwetalkaboutclimatechangeifnotnow
17.01.2022 This pretty much sums up the LNP politicians at the moment and their supporters at the ALP who think we should be quiet on climate change. #USAguncontrolantics #timefortalkisover #actnow
16.01.2022 "His government will not change its criminal course of inaction on climate change. It can’t and it won’t, in part because many of its leaders are climate change denialists, in part because of the curious, inexplicable hold the fossil fuel industry has over it, and in part because it owes Clive Palmer big time, and he wants his giant Galilee Basin coal mine in return for buying Morrison his one-seat majority."
14.01.2022 We don't tell our kids to ignore multiple choice questions because they're only a tiny mark relative to the total exam worth. The aggregate is what matters and that relies on every little mark. The government doesn't let small taxpayers off the hook because they know the aggregate of those smaller taxpayers have a larger impact. The government is completely failing to acknowledge our global significance as an emitter of carbon.
14.01.2022 Huge crowd of people looking for certainty in their future. We need policy on climate.
09.01.2022 Volunteers are so important to our economy all year. This year, they're vital to our safety. Morrison needs to get his foot out of his mouth and start on real policy to arrest global warming. Emissions are rising under this government and accounting trickery won't change that fundamental fact.
08.01.2022 This seems to wrap up our Melbourne Cup rather succinctly

05.01.2022 Perhaps a fact check by an independent newspaper might encourage some people to think reasonably about Greens' policies. Alas, I'm not confident that even this is able to effect rational thinking in some.
01.01.2022 Capitalism economies generally allow the markets to determine pricing albeit with some elements of regulation. A Command economy generally has the government determine the prices of goods and services (as modelled to the world by Nth Korea, former Soviet Union, and Cuba). Seemingly, the LNP are moving away from a traditional free market economy with this proposed legislation.... "It also includes powers for the government to compel energy companies to supply electricity, or electricity contracts, at whatever terms and conditions the Treasurer of the day sees fit. That could include the price, quantity and duration for a period of up to three years."
