25.01.2022 I was asked to draw this lovely A4 pencil sketch of these beloved pets last week and have permission to share it with you now. It was a nice change to be sketching again after sculpting for most of this year! And of course my client was very pleased with the finished portrait which he will now have framed to suit his décor :) I still have some spots available prior to Christmas if you are interested in placing an order, but get in quick as I am now booked until December 11th ;) #buyfromabushbusiness #martinsville #huntervalleyartist #petportraitcommission

25.01.2022 So sorry, but our market is cancelled for tomorrow. But hopefully next Saturday will be much more pleasant so we can have a market:)

24.01.2022 If you sent me an email between 21st Nov and 9pm on 23rd Nov, please re-send because my email was deleted in error by Telstra!

22.01.2022 A wonderful FREE Christmas Art class with my good friend Val from Maude's Madhouse :)

20.01.2022 "Chameleon Vase" is all finished and available for purchase :) It measures 20cm H and features my original quirky hand-painted sculpture with gold highlights. Price of $210 includes postage and packing.

20.01.2022 It's time to get your Christmas shopping started! And there's no better place to do it than at the vineyards most popular, 100% handmade, Covid safe market. What's even better is that every handmade item is sold by the the Hunter Valley artisan who made it. As this is an outdoor market it is weather-permitting, so please check the market page on the day before attending

20.01.2022 You will find me all set up at Handmade in the Hunter Markets today until 3pm - tap the video to see full screen :) But if you can't make it out to see me there, you can "shop virtually" from my stall and purchase online - just let me know what takes your fancy from my stall and it can be in the post on Monday!

19.01.2022 Yes, we're scheduled to hold a market this weekend and would LOVE to! So we need to promote it on our social media sites. However, the predicted temperature for Saturday is 38 - unsafe for both stallholders and some of their precious handmade products. This puts a question mark over whether we can follow through with our plans. We won't know what we are doing until later in the week. Please check back and cross your fingers that Mother Nature decides to take a chill pill and cool things off a bit.

17.01.2022 Beautiful Roxy has crossed The Rainbow Bridge, but these lovely keepsakes now form part of a touching shrine to a much loved fur-baby x #buyfromabushbusiness #handmadesculptures #commissionstaken #petportraitartist #huntervalleyartist

17.01.2022 The Cat Collection is a series of press-moulded ceramic plates and one bowl, each hand-painted with coloured clay slip and featuring Sgraffito decoration (texture scratched into the surface). I produced these pieces some years back and have had them packed away, but have decided to show them to the world and make them available for purchase. They can be used for serving dry food items or for display and can be carefully hand washed. The larger plates are the size if dinner plates, the two smaller ones are side plate size. The salad bowl measures approx 35cm across the top. Large plates $60 (Tabby cat on white rug -SOLD) Small plates $45 Salad Bowl $90 Plus FREE POSTAGE :) #buyfromabushbusiness #martinsvillensw #handbuiltceramics

10.01.2022 This beautiful pet sculpture commission has just been gifted and I received this lovely message from my client last night: "Hi Karen, I gave (name) her gift early, she loved it, and was a little teary. They were so lifelike and very characteristic of Deizel and Tilli. Thanks once again." I love hearing about the reactions to my commissions and also to being challenged with something just a little bit different like this lovely plate sculpture suggested by my client

09.01.2022 Let's call this cutie "Welsh Wine" ;) This sweet little Welsh Pembroke Corgi can be removed from the wine glass while you enjoy a tipple, or will make a sweet keepsake for you or someone special. 07.01.2022 This beautiful pet sculpture commission has just been gifted to a very teary lady who loved it and thought that both doggies were so lifelike and very characteristic of Deizel and Tilli. I love hearing feedback about my commissions and I love to be challenged with new ideas, like this plate sculpture suggested by my client :) #handsculptedpets #polymerclaysculpture #handmadewithlove #dogloversofinstagram #buyfromabushbusiness #huntervalleyartists #bullterrierlove #staffylove #commissionsopen

07.01.2022 GUMBOOT McBRIDE is MISSING LAST SEEN ON 20/02/21 at home on Cherry Tree Lane, CHESNEY VALE (VIC). His Dachshund brother was still at the property but ...Gumboot was nowhere to be seen. He was wearing a collar with ID tags and is male, 6 yrs, desexed and m/chipped. HAVE YOU SEEN HIM or HAVE YOU BEEN CARING FOR HIM? or 0406 834 001 with ANY INFO. CCTV is being checked but please call if you know anything about Gumboot’s whereabouts. See more

06.01.2022 Handmade is definitely slow made! Some items involve several time-consuming steps, but others require closer to a hundred! And it’s often just one person (and sometimes a family member) who imagines, buys the raw materials, designs, cuts/makes/cooks/sews/forms the raw materials into a one-of-a-kind, bespoke piece. So please come and see the wonderful, finished products at this 100% handmade market and meet the talented makers who created them. Please note, that being an outdoor market we are weather-dependent, so check our page for cancellations before attending on the day ;)

06.01.2022 SOLD Thank you to the lovely customer who has purchased my Chameleon vase - you have made my day a little brighter

06.01.2022 Many of my recent followers wouldn't realise that my business name is Karen Scott Murals because nearly 8 years ago my first commission was a collection of murals at WagginTails Doggy Daycare. Since then I have painted many murals for businesses and private residences, but in the last 3 years I have concentrated on pet portraits and more recently, pet sculptures. But over the next 4-6 weeks I will be working on a huge mural measuring more than 5m x 5m in size! I am not workin...g on site, but in my husband's shed, which means I actually can't lay out the entire mural at once. So these panels in their very early stages are only 4 of 11....it's a huge undertaking! I am still spending at least 2 daus a week on pet commissions and 3 days on the mural, but come March 6th I also return to the Handmade in the Hunter Markets! I am certainly lucky to have such a busy start to the year :) See more

04.01.2022 Did you ask if I have a Pug on a Mug? Well of course I do! And he is available right now for $115 which includes tracked postage, or you can find him tomorrow at the Handmade in the Hunter Markets :)

02.01.2022 UPDATE: SOLD Did someone say tea? How about this unique and quirky Giraffe Mum and Bub Tea for One Set that I have only just finished? It would make the perfect gift for a teapot collector, tea lover, or for someone who just loves Giraffes! Baby Giraffe just sits on the teacup and gets removed to use the cup. Mumma Giraffe is attached to the teapot lid but lid can gently be removed from teapot for rinsing :) It is $290 including postage/packing and insurance within Australia. If you would love to buy this bespoke set, please message me to arrange payment by bank transfer or PayPal (+ 3% for this option). #buyfromabushbusiness #martinsvillensw #teatime #giraffe #giraffeart

01.01.2022 My market may have been cancelled today (thank goodness!) but I was busy creating some new Doggy Danglers and Dog Bone Hangers during the week in between commissions, so you can still shop from the cool comfort of home :) I also have Doggy Bones without the hook so you can just have your pets name written on it without the Doggy Dangler itself. I have most dog breeds available, so please ask if I have your doggy in my collection, and if I don't, I can make a custom one for you!

01.01.2022 Hi everyone, Anne-Marie & Arthur here, And so it is.. today marks exactly 1 YR since Remmy (the black Toy Poodle) vanished on that fateful day in Nov 2019 ...from Bayswater Riverside Gardens (Perth). It’s taken me awhile to find the right words... Remmy lives in everyone’s ‘s here at Arthur & Co. So many members of the team have worked on Remmy’s case and each day and with every lead we hoped she would be found. We’ve flown across country multiple times (often with a search dog in toe), searched in 45 degree heat, been attacked by flora and fauna multiple times, waded through water, flushed out empty Fox dens, discovered asbestos, microchip scanned a huge volume of black poodles, received over approx 2000 phone calls/texts/emails/Facebook messages, installed posters, dropped flyers, searched highways AND been misled by people...(plus more) yet Remmy remains missing. Remmy’s family are some of my favourite people in the world. We are devoted to finding their precious Remmy. So, please, for goodness sake (!!!) - IF YOU HAVE ANY INFO THAT MAY HELP 0406 834 001. Just call. You never know. It may be the single, piece of information that brings this 6 year old, desexed, female, black Toy Poodle home. We never give up searching for any missing and stolen pets. If Remmy is out there to be found we will find her one day so please do the right thing. Anonymous contact with information welcome. EDIT - We are grateful for all of the information & leads the community has provided. We do try to get back to everyone but please consider the time associated with receiving thousands of calls/comments/messages with pieces of information. We aren’t a call centre with hundreds of staff fielding calls and messages etc. Rest assured every lead that can be pursued, has been. Whilst all info is welcome, there is a huge difference between a lead that says, for example - This dog is an older female dog and my neighbour just adopted her from over in W.A versus a lead that says a few weeks ago I saw a poodle being walked in Queen Mary Park... I can’t remember the date but it looked like it could be Remmy. So we appreciate the information and the lead but sometimes we can’t do anything with it except note it. We do try to get back to everyone but sometimes we don’t receive contact details if they call from a private number. There has been a huge volume of calls coupled with the actual searching and following up leads and so we’ve been updating the thousands and thousands of people following this case and those who have sent information via this page. Thank you for understanding
