20.01.2022 My final class for the year is on the 21st and 22nd November. Ortho-Bionomy Isometrics/Isotonics Is a really effective process for helping clients gently shift their long held, habitual physical and emotional tension patterns. Join the class to learn how this can be achieved. Phone 0411713405 for more details or share if you know a practitioner who may be interested

20.01.2022 The "how" we do this depends on what tools of resilience our nervous system is able to access. Ortho-Bionomy treatment can be part of that toolbox. Physical and emotional resilience and recovery.

20.01.2022 Nice way to explore some movement during a break today....a walk on the beach

15.01.2022 Fun, informative and therapeutic weekend with these practitioners. Teaching ways to use isometrics and isotonics. Exploring ways to engage the body's self correcting processes, to release both physical and emotional habitual patterns.

14.01.2022 Gentle movement, so perfect in its value

12.01.2022 Ortho-Bionomy. Gentle work....powerful outcomes. That's the benefit of working directly with the nervous system.

11.01.2022 The essence of Ortho-Bionomy

07.01.2022 Just a reminder....... Early payment discount for this class ends 15/11/20. Save $50 and expand your therapy tools.

05.01.2022 Perhaps I'm pushing the boundaries a little with this post. I do that But it is only when we explore the comfort boundaries of our minds and bodies that we can begin to move toward new possibilities. While Ortho-Bionomy practitioners use comfort to inform the nervous system and trigger self healing processes as we work, it is only from a client's experience of mindfully noticing the interface between ease and discomfort, that we can find that place of comfort. Awareness creates change.

01.01.2022 I wanted to write a post that would highlight the difference between using force to relieve tension/pain and using Ortho-Bionomy to relieve tension/pain. In the anatomical picture, the red colours the infraspinatus muscle. The role of this muscle is to stabilise the shoulder when we reach forward, and its action is to take the upper arm towards the back of the body, if we want to reach behind us. When the infraspinatus is injured, strained, or there is excess tension held th...ere, it may cause pain down the front of the arm, or deep in the shoulder joint, into the upper back, or into the neck. Quite debilitating! You can feel for tenderness in this muscle by giving yourself a hug, and feeling for tenderness where your fingers contact the back of the shoulder, at approximately armpit level. There are many forceful methods to release tension that might include deep massage or rolling on, or pressing the shoulder onto, a tennis ball to break down the adhesions in the tissues, or even stretching. All can help. The more gentle, and effective, Ortho-Bionomy option to release tension in this muscle would be to position yourself like I have in the photo......find a shelf(or sit facing away from a table) abduct the upper arm to take it slightly behind you, and rest it on a shelf. Let it relax there. This lets the muscle naturally relax, the nervous system remember it's natural tone as self corrective capacity takes over, and tissue reorganising and structural realigning results. Rest there for 10 -20 seconds, and then recheck the point and your movement. Every treatment is unique, but in the clinic, an Ortho-Bionomy therapist might support you in this way as part of treatment involving your shoulder or upper back. See more
