25.01.2022 Too many lemons?? Here's what you can do to make a healthy, cleansing drink. After washing lemons, top and tail them and cut in to quarters. Stand them up in a slow cooker adding water half way up the lemons. (You could probably also boil/microwave or roast them too but I've always used a slow cooker) Once the skin has softened blitz everything with a stick blender and then add a bit of honey, or if you prefer you can add honey to taste at the time of drinking instead. Place mixture in to ice cube holder and freeze. Best to drink first thing in the morning. Just dissolve an ice cube of the mixture in some hot water. If you have any bits of lemon left these can also be put in to an ice cube maker and topped up with water for an instant 'ice and a slice'

23.01.2022 If you are interested in essential oils or natural remedies, I can recommend these online talks which are free just for this week.

22.01.2022 Collette has rarely missed a class over the past ten years. She is such an inspiration and a lovely lady too :-) Thanks for your support Collette!

21.01.2022 Some good stretches if your hips feel tight. You can always use a dynaband instead of a towel.

20.01.2022 Sorry, I don't usually post funny videos on this page but as we all could do with a laugh at the moment, couldn't resist this one. Not that I'm encouraging you to drink so much wine.

19.01.2022 It's been proven that those who exercise in a group are happier than those who exercise alone. Thanks to all the wonderful class members who make every class an uplifting experience!

14.01.2022 Due to the latest Government restrictions, we will not be holding any more Pilates classes until further notice. We are hoping to do live classes online very shortly and will keep you updated with new developments. Thank you for your support and patience. x

14.01.2022 Many class members take their bands on holiday with them and sometimes they even make it out of the suitcase Here's a great photo of Ross in Antarctica with the penguins. I'm glad to see the dynaband held up well in the extreme cold!! Please send me a photo from your travels either with your band or doing Pilates somewhere. It would be great to get pictures from as many places as we can around the world and also in our own beautiful Country.

12.01.2022 Many people struggle with the plank but it's excellent for core and upper body strength. Here are a few tips to get the best out of it and some suggestions if you need adapt. It will get easier with practice!

11.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who made it to our Christmas/end of year get together. Its been a pleasure having you all in the classes this year. Youre such a lovely group!

11.01.2022 Healthy homemade chocolate Some class members have asked me for my chocolate recipe, so here it is! Very easy to make with just a few ingredients. Please note, if you are expecting it to taste like like Cadburys dairy milk you will be disappointed . However, this chocolate does contain protein, healthy fats and can be made tooth friendly, suitable for vegans and diabetics 1/2 cup cacao (natural cocoa)... 3/4 cup coconut oil 1/2 cup nut butter (almond, peanut, etc) Honey or stevia (optional) A touch of Himalayan Pink salt (optional) Place cacao, coconut oil and nut butter in a bowl. If the coconut oil is firm, soften a bit in the microwave prior to mixing with a stick blender. Mix until it becomes smooth and glossy. Add honey or stevia and salt (if using) to your required level of sweetness. Pour in to a slice tray (mine is 28cm x18cm but could be smaller for thicker pieces) lined with grease proof paper and leave to set in the freezer. If you cannot keep the tray flat in the freezer place in the fridge first so it will start to harden. (If you dont have room in the freezer you could probably leave in the fridge to set). Once it has set, remove from the freezer and leave for a few minutes before cutting into pieces. I keep the chocolate in the freezer and remove a piece to have with a cup of tea . The chocolate does melt very quickly, due to the coconut oil, so I would recommend holding it in a small piece of paper towel. Theres no reason why you couldnt add nuts or raisins, etc to this recipe. Can also melt pieces for a hot chocolate or sauce, etc. Let me know what you think or if you come up with any variations.

11.01.2022 Try doing some of these stretches when you are stuck at your desk all day. If you lose track of time set a reminder :-)

11.01.2022 Plans to return back to the hall are on hold but I look forward to seeing you at our online classes. Thanks for your continued support. Keep smiling x

10.01.2022 Thanks Iva for sending through this photo with your dynaband from beautiful Cradle Mountain, Tassie. Good to see your daughters using the bands too!

09.01.2022 Coconut oil is so versatile, I even use it to make chocolate!

08.01.2022 On Monday 6th July at 7pm I will be holding a Pilates Zoom class to raise funds for a local animal rescue (The Bluey & Alice Bunny Refuge) that takes in unwanted bunnies and re-homes them. The class is $15 which is more than I normally charge but all money will go direct to the charity to help them with their running costs. Booking is through the link below, set up by the charity. Please note, if you are already a class member, this session will be a little different as it ...will be more geared up to people new to Pilates and without resistance bands, etc. However, if you know of someone who might be interested in giving Pilates a try and supporting the charity at the same time perhaps you would be kind enough to pass on this information. If you have any family members or friends who would like to try a class I would still be happy for them to try a regular class for free, even if they sign up for the Charity one. Please get in touch if you have any questions. Thanks x See more

07.01.2022 Glued to your phone? How about using that tech time for good! Some great apps suggested in this article to enhance your daily routine.

04.01.2022 Many of you will already know Sharyn from our classes. She is now selling some of her lovely products online. Great opportunity to support a local business!

03.01.2022 Christmas/end of year meal. Thank you to all who came along. Hope you had a lovely evening with your class mates :-)

02.01.2022 At least 30% of Australians dont get enough Magnesium from their diet. I agree that powder form tends to be better absorbed than a solid tablet (which are often huge too!). Bioglan Magnesium cream is a favourite product that I recommend to class members who suffer from cramps or muscular aches. Through the skin is also another way of getting magnesium in to the body.

02.01.2022 Welcome to my new Pilates studio! It was lovely to see so many class members joining me for live online classes last week. Thanks for your support xx

02.01.2022 Love the picture Trish sent through! Great to see Lady Liberty working out with the dynaband. I always wondered how she kept her arm so strong

01.01.2022 Not my poem (author unknown) but so true. Stay well and positive everyone. We will be back and in the meantime, hope to see you still online. Details to follow.... Its just a fitness class. 4 walls, a floor and a roof. A stereo and a beat.... Trainers and Lycra. Movement to music. Its just a fitness class! Things get built here - Stronger bodies. Fitter bodies. Confident bodies. Things get broken here - Barriers. Silence. Sweat. .... but its just a fitness class! Friendships are forged. Community is created. We rally together in the sad times. We celebrate the good times. .... but its just a fitness class! We conquer our demons. We relieve our stress. We quiet the voices in our heads. We feel at home here. .... but its just a fitness class! Its the date in our diary we never miss. Its the time for us to be carefree. Its the place where we can let go. Its part of our lives. Its not just a fitness class. We will be back. Stronger than ever. Together.

01.01.2022 Its been proven that those who exercise in a group are happier than those who exercise alone. Thanks to all the wonderful class members who make every class an uplifting experience!
