24.01.2022 Some powdery softness for everyone...As I contemplate the next 6 weeks of ‘stay at home’ and ponder if product businesses in the self-care sector should now classify themselves as service business because of what they have to offer us during iso . I hope everyone is managing okay today xx. This collection of support imagery / storytelling imagery is all available through my Stocksy channel , via my profile link or by DM/email for something more tailored.

24.01.2022 An UnStill life ~ hahah. I’ve been drawn to experimenting with adding motion to still life arrangements. I love the boundless options and storytelling aspects that open up through this medium. thoughts for this Sunday... It’s been nice to have some space for exploration. Creative play has always been a huge part of my creative practise, and allowing time and space for it has almost been a discipline in itself. Being serious about play helps to keep me innovative and pas...sionate, it allows me to explore how my own brain interprets and combines inspiration into new and unique concepts. It also allows me space to explore concepts that drop in Intuitively. But the most fulfilling aspect is that it regularly results in being able to apply newly discovered methods to amazing commercial opportunities or collaborations, which is such a beautiful way to work. 23.01.2022 Seek beauty, wherever you can. Choose to look for it. If you’re looking at things that hurt your heart, please don’t look there too long. Look to the sky instead; look to the plants; look to your heart. Look for the melody in your friend’s voices. Look to the places where the earth is finding new opportunities to breath. And look to the presence of the things that feel most meaningful. In some things we have no choice, but in this we can choose.

21.01.2022 HELLO friends!! It’s my first hello for 2020 - actually my first hello since November last decade . I’ve been deep in life; deep in home; deep in family; and deep in friendship. And I’ve been unbusy for a while. I gave myself space to think about the year ahead, and the year that’s been. To think about community, and earth, and sisterhood and meaning. I’ve been thinking about my role, and my legacy, and my calling. And I’ve been thinking about the discipline required to remain lit, woke, inspired and stable enough to make magic every day....It seemed pretty big, and so I gave myself an extra month to think about it some more. But now I’m done thinking and now I’m here. I'm in my new studio (I’ll show you soon) and I'm ready to make Lit, Woke, Inspired Magic on the daily . So, HELLO from here I hope you’re wonderful.

21.01.2022 Forecast for Wednesday : High chance of ‘inside’ in both the north and south, with slight chance of ‘ocean’ in coastal regions during exercise. Medium chance of long showers.

18.01.2022 The self-isolating Plum. Him and Peach (from 6 posts back) have started an iso-distance relationship. They have high hopes for a September coffee date.

18.01.2022 I love nature, but now that I can’t really be in nature in the way I dream of being there, I realise perhaps I didn't spend as much time there as I should have, or I would have like to have. I recognise how easy it was to put other things first and not make the effort. Then I remember back to when we travelled the outback for 4 months and how we were constantly in nature, and then how that type of ‘Effortless nature’ was what I missed most after we returned. Perhaps it takes forces beyond ourselves to show us our selves: what we love; what we neglect; what means the most. This image is Fennel, page 133 of WILDCRAFT, the book I created for/with Heidi Merika @heidimerika last year, when I roamed in nature without truely understanding its worth. I love you planet. @ Sunshine Coast, Queensland

16.01.2022 Today I'm using my creativity to shout out to my favorite local cafe crew as they navigate the changes today in Queensland, Aust. @thepocketespressobar and @ourscafeandgoods , together you have helped keep me sunny and happily caffeinated for 7.5 years. I love you guys and am thinking of you as you step through this journey. We will be together again soon. But also, Let's just talk about that plum for a minute as well. I'm running out of fresh props for my work and want ...to be super caring, from a resource perspective, with what I use. This plum was my morning snack :) it was delicious afterwards. Also, see to my stories for how to get business cards from you friends during social distancing. Also, I am still open for business for now and have a remote-working system already finessed over many years. Most of my client's have put their projects on hold for the time being, understandably. But if you need it I am here, for image work, for making things levitate and for plums. (actually maybe don’t count on the plums). See more

16.01.2022 Such a delight to see my Still Life of a Mandarin image grace the examples of @tessmccabe ‘s new book GRAPHIC DESIGN SPEAK ~ with tips, advice & jargon defined for non-graphic designers. It’s a no-nonsense handbook to help non-designers, new-designers & diy’er navigate the pixels and serifs of the design world. Tess publishes some of the most helpful books I’ve come across for us creative & small business folk through her publishing house @creativemindshq , I can especially recommend OWNING IT - a creative guide to copyright, contract & the law, it’s gold. @ Sunshine Coast, Queensland

15.01.2022 Thoughts from one of my midnights. Xx

15.01.2022 Today I want to show you the entrance to my new studio, nestled within the larger space that is @subtropicstudio . I promise I’ll show you the rest as well, but sharing my inner workings on the gram has a daunting thing about it for me, so I’m taking it bit by little bit. But I did want to tell you how amazing it’s been to move out of my tiny home studio and into a slightly larger space - with a little more room to breathe, a little more space to make magic from and with a li...ttle more room for life at either end of the day. Today I also open my space and process to my very first team member and I step into the shoes of being a boss (actually I’ll probably be bare feet). It’s exciting and daunting and a mixture of so many other things. I think I’ll be good at it, I’ve been practising on my man and on my children but having worked solo and intuitively for so long I already know it will call for growth. But that’s okey, because everything about the big vision I’m pulling through for the next 3 years rests on the other side of safety. . If you’re reading this my epic new super first team person, I can’t wait to grow and create with you . X we gonna make some super gold. See more

14.01.2022 Of all the vistas, it’s these ridge lines I dream of most. ..From more than a year ago... The Painted Desert, Arckaringa Station, South Australia - so so beautiful, my mind and breath got lost together.

13.01.2022 Last year, ironically right in the midst of a nutrition challenge, I shot for local artisan chocolatier @kokopod_chocolate . They produce incredible hand-crafted chocolate blocks in 19 different flavors, using the best Australian produce. They are also super delicious - I know it because I snuck some and pretended it was protein. Their Smokey Black flavor is my favorite. Thinking back on this project made me think about resources. I’m always really conscious of resource ...usage and trying to minimise waste. It can take a lot of chocolate investment to photograph 19 flavors, in 2 sizes, plus a combo shot to demonstrate the size difference. That’s 57 images all up, all requiring deliberately cut and placed chocolate chunks and clean & tidy tinted underlays. It also takes prolonged laser focus because you’re working with meltables. So for Kokopod , I did some things differently. I designed their combo shot very very precisely (like Virgo-precisely) setting everything up so that the layout was replicatable; made sense for the combo shot; and also allowed for 2 compelling individual close-up crops to showcase each of the block sizes. In this way I was able to produce all 3 ‘assets’ from a single capture, while minimizing time and resource usage. If you take a look at the 3rd, 4th and 5th image you can see what I mean. I wanted to share all of this because I think there’s always a creative solution to get you where you need to go. I also think there's often a creative way to work lean and smart when needed. It all comes down to a willingness to think beyond rigidity and the most obvious approach, and it’s often in this outermost region that we get to cross paths with magic. @ Sunshine Coast, Queensland See more

12.01.2022 I miss sitting on rocks by the ocean. (Maybe I even miss sitting down in public.)

12.01.2022 I think I’ll call this one The self-isolating Peach. " BIG love to you all in this moment.

11.01.2022 Back when things were normal, I made Benefit Statements out of chia seeds for @naturenetics . The thing I love about this sort of messaging, is that the attention given to create the words is a pure reflection of the conscientiousness of Naturenetics product development. So the message and the treatment compliment for a potent transfer of meaning. Waking up today I feel like Messaging is more vital than ever right now for business and brand. I’m thinking about all my clien...ts and all the other brands that have been working so hard, only to now have a customer base that is able to buy. So it made me think, maybe now is the time to go back to origin and bring through your ethos in a bigger way. Speak about your why. Speak about the bigger reason you sell those products in the first place. Most whys are based around an important human need and right now humanity is in need. So, if it’s within your means, find a way to bring that sentiment through to your people; look for ways to provide what’s missing; to provide what your people are seeking, through thoughtful messaging, rather than through product. @ Australia See more

09.01.2022 Hey Tuesday. Today sees me working from home for the 2nd day after closing the doors to my studio last Friday. There were some tears when I packed up, a sense of grief taking apart something I had only recently built - I know many will relate to that feeling. But my soul is okay, that that is what I'm using as my radar during this time. For now I'm grateful my business is lean and agile and already well setup for working remotely. I also know there will be a time beyond all of this, and that there is room to do good, expanded work on the way through. But in the meantime, I can see my computer from my bed, and I can #catspam you. @ Sunshine Coast, Queensland

08.01.2022 I've given myself gentleness over the last 3 days to re-calibrate and locate my inner source of peace. For so much of last week I felt like I was trying to hold strong within a gale as things changed around us all; I spoke to a lot of business friends and so many of us seemed to be trying to decide if we should take things as a sign to slow down or as a sign to pivot. I'm grateful that I have choices. From my seat, I think the biggest thing that each of us can do is to do what feels most-right for our well-being right now...each day. Just day by day by day. Each one of us is our own waymaker. Be gentle; take moments to centre, be careful with commitments; and step only towards the things that feel whole. And tell your people you love them. Xxx @ Sunshine Coast, Queensland

07.01.2022 I have this new collection of fun work for @muktiorganics to share with you. It’s a assortment from a few of their projects - including some of their newest organic products. I love this type of work - so much amazing colour, so much positive impact, plus Cream texture work is still one of my biggest joys. But also, let’s stop for just a minute and imagine the absolute bliss of the smell in this? I could have wafted away ..... Smell & fragrance seems increasingly importa...nt to me for 2020. I’ve been thinking about it and realised I stopped wearing perfume when my kids were babies, and I forgot until recently how wondrous it can be. Now I'm like... 'what sort of scented oil do I need to wear today to match what I need to be?'. Do I need to step into JOY? Or step into ROYALTY? Or step into SLEEP? I can do a lot of the stepping into things all by myself, but fragrance has a transformative aspect that steps me in so much faster and fuller. I’m completely in love with the ritual and luxury of it. Is anyone else like me? Who wants to talk to me about fragrance? Whatcha ‘wearing’ ? @ Sunshine Coast, Queensland See more
