16.01.2022 Following on from the news yesterday of the tiger who caught Covid-19 from its keeper, we have had a few enquires as to whether our pet cats and dogs can catch ...it? The simple answer for dogs is no, at this stage. They appear to be poor hosts for the virus and as yet to our knowledge there have been no true cases of Covid-19 infection in dogs. However, cats can potentially become infected with the virus. As yet, there have been no cases of an infected cat then passing it on to a human, but we must assume this is a possibility until more evidence becomes available to us. However the important point to remember is that pet cats who live with their owners can only really become infected from their owners. Given that cats don’t tend to be employed outside the home, their main point of contact for catching the infection, is you! Therefore your cat is NOT a risk to you, if anything it is the other way around! The current advice is that if you are infected with Covid-19, or are isolating while awaiting test results, simply stay away from household pets as well as human household members to reduce the spread of infection.

15.01.2022 The Cattery is closed today Fri 29/3/19
11.01.2022 Hello to all our valued customers, Please note as of Monday 23rd of March access via appointment only our doors will be closed. At this stage karinda Cattery is open and still caring for your beloved pets, but we are monitoring the situation daily.... Obviously at this time we understand that travel plans are being cancelled, so we find ourselves with less and less animals on site every day. As a small business we need to find a way to ensure we can endure this tough period and stay viable for when it is safe for everyone to take holidays again. I am going to minimize contact between myself and the public so we are only accepting payments over the phone or via direct deposit before you collect On Monday the 23rd of March OUR DOOR WILL BE CLOSED. If you want to drop off or pick up an animal we will do it via pre arranged appointment only between the hours of 9am 12pm and 4pm to 6pm Monday to Saturday Rest assured COVID-19 isn't effecting your pets. If you want to book we will obtain all of the information we need over the phone. We hope everyone keeps safe during challenging time and hope to see everyone soon. Jan Ballard.
09.01.2022 We know that the health and well-being of your pets is on your mind more than ever now. That's why we're reminding you that Easter eggs and hot cross buns are o...ff the menu for your pets as chocolate and certain fruits like grapes, raisins and sultanas are toxic to cats and can cause vomiting, diarrhoea and more severe health issues. Have a safe and happy Easter at home. Look after yourselves and you fur babies. See more
