20.01.2022 When you are planning your next visit to Karingal remember that once you have mastered your watercraft paddling skills on our Dams then you can head to one of the excellent Canoe/Kayak Launch Point supplied by the Redland City Council or why not try out the brand new Canoe Trails launched recently by the Logan City Council which are all just a short drive from Karingal Campsite https://www.redland.qld.gov.au//canoe_and_kayak_launch_poi https://www.logan.qld.gov.au/canoe-kayak-trail
18.01.2022 If you own a Kayak, Canoe or any other watercraft that doesn't require registration, please ensure you have some form of identification clearly marked in a prom...inent position on it. Paddle Smart stickers are available at our base at the Victoria Point Ramp and are a great way of identifying your watercraft at no cost to you but a huge potential saving for Marine Rescue Services. By having identification on your watercraft it may help save lives and reduce resources expended on non-emergency SAR activations by deploying resources when no-one is in danger. Check out this news story and you will see the need for identity on your watercraft. https://www.news-mail.com.au//moreton-bay-chopper/3193642/ The canoe had drifted off a beach on a rising tide and the owner was safe and well at home.
