25.01.2022 FAR FROM THE... ~ SUNSET ROCKS ~ MOUNT VICTORIA ~ BLUE MOUNTAINS I occasionally pop down to the 'easy' lookouts around the Blue Mountains (Govetts, Echo, Lincol...ns etc) - these are ones you can literally drive up, park and walk 30 seconds and be at a great but well photographed viewpoint. During busy tourist weekends one can expect quite a few photographers at sunrises and sunsets, most up from Sydney 'doing the Blue Mountains' thing. It is nice to chat to a few, while a few ignore you and others can be rather rude, as if they are the first to discover the view and how dare I arrive after them - regardless, living here I have hundreds of alternate and always empty lookouts, they may not be that secret, but without steel rails they do allow me the freedom to find new angles, take my time without strange looks or equipment envy, to just be with the scene and not navigate the 'multi photographers in a line etiquette'.
