24.01.2022 Dear Parents and Carers, This year’s Presentation Day assemblies will be held next week and in order for us to meet the guidelines and adhere to the COVID-19 Schools Safety Plan, we must limit the number of guests on site for each assembly. Each grade has been allocated a date and a time to celebrate the wonderful achievements of the students in 2020. Please see below.... Each class teacher has sent home an invite to our major award winners for 2020. If you received an invite please RSVP by December 7 as there will be more information set home to you individually. 23.01.2022 Covid-19 update There will be a detailed note coming home to all students by tomorrow in relation to the new guidelines for Covid-19 please read carefully. Here are some of the changes as of 19th August; * Do not send your child to school if they are unwell or have even mild flu like symptoms.... * Students must not return to school until they return a negative Covid-19 result. The school must sight the negative Covid-19 test result prior to the student returning to school. * Parents/Carers should not come onto school site unless absolutely necessary. * Any visitors who enter school grounds will be required to leave name and contact number for tracing purposes (if needed) at the gates or front office. 22.01.2022 School photos will be taken on Wednesday 21st April. Today all students should have bought home a school photo card. Please pay for the photos online using the information on your child’s card. Your child should bring the card back to school on photo day. If you would prefer to pay in cash please contact the office to collect an envelope. If you would like your children to have a family photo please collect a family photo envelope from the office. If you have any questions about the school photos please contact the office.

21.01.2022 Important messages for today- Year 5 and 6 aqua splash is definitely going ahead. Students will return to school to have pizza lunch. K-2 party day will go ahead at school children can wear mufti. Stage 2 party day will go ahead if raining they will stay at school and not be going to the park.

First prize - Spalding 48" NBA Baller Basketball System (adjustable height for smaller children) Second prize - Gilbert Diamonds Helix Netball Stand (adjustable height for smaller children) Third prize - Tahwalhi Tribe Logo Body Board... Fourth to seventh - Sports balls Tickets are $1 each, books have been sent home to all families. If you require more books please see the office. 21.01.2022 The P & C Father’s Day stall will still be going ahead this year. Students will be able to purchase gifts on Thursday at school. All gifts will be $5.

20.01.2022 Our K- 2 students are really looking forward to the Easter Hat Parade tomorrow. Here is some important information for K-2 parents about the parade. Picnic lunch will be on the school oval at 1pm. Easter Hat Parade will commence at 1:45pm. The school gates will open at 12:45pm. Parents must sign in at the gate using the QR code and also sign on next to their child's name. Parents please go straight to the oval to meet your child there.... Please bring a seat or something weatherproof to sit on as the ground may be damp. You may take your child home after the parade just remember to sign out with your child's class teacher. The children are excited to show off their wonderful creations and we look forward to seeing many parents here tomorrow. See more

18.01.2022 Some happy news for our KPS community. On the 13th August Mrs Bonett ( some may know her as Miss Dawson) and her husband Luke welcomed a little girl into their family Charlotte. Congratulations Mrs Bonett and Luke and we can’t wait until the time comes when you can bring her into school and we get to meet her in person.

13.01.2022 Reminder to all students competing at swimming carnival money, permission note and entry form needs to be returned to school tomorrow. It is also expected that all students not attending the carnival will attend school on Monday.

12.01.2022 Book Club Your child would have bought home a scholastic book club magazine today. This year, the school will be using ‘Loop’ and encouraging families to order their own books online through Book Club. The school will not be handling cash payments. Orders can then be made via the Scholastic Australia Loop website or app. Simply create an account or log in at https://mybookclubs.scholastic.com.au/Parent.aspx ... Here are the steps to follow: 1. If you are new to Book Club, follow the Wizard to set up your profile 2. Click the ORDER tab, and select your school and child’s class 3. Add your child’s first name and last initial (so the school knows who the book is for) 4. Enter the product item number shown on the Book Club catalogue 5. Make payment via credit card. 11.01.2022 Important notice to our Kinder and Year 1 parents. Afternoon dismissal today will be the same as always meet your children at the designated gate at around 2:45pm. Starting tomorrow afternoon we would like you to pick your child up from the courtyard at 2:55pm. Teachers will bring the children to the courtyard at 2:55pm. Please try to maintain 1.5m social distancing while picking up your child. A note will be sent home regarding all the new COVID guidelines today.

09.01.2022 Reminder tomorrow (Thursday) we will be selling gifts in the hall for students to purchase for Father's Day. All gifts cost $5. This is a P & C fundraiser.

08.01.2022 As you may be aware new Covid 19 restrictions were imposed on schools today. Unfortunately this means that the Year 6 Science day to the high school planned for tomorrow and Wednesday will not be going ahead. Year 6 should come to school as normal. A note will be sent home with year 6 students this afternoon.

08.01.2022 This week we are celebrating Harmony Week. Tomorrow is Harmony Day and so we are asking all students to wear something orange or a traditional outfit from another country. Students will participate in activities throughout the day.

04.01.2022 This week is NAIDOC Week. To celebrate students will be watching an Aboriginal Science show on Tuesday. Money and permission notes for the show need to be returned to the class teacher by Tuesday. On Tuesday students may come dressed to school in red, black and yellow colours. Throughout the week students will be completing NAIDOC activities.

04.01.2022 Congratulations Year 6, What a great day we had on Friday at Kariong Public School. A huge thank you to all of our Year 6 students for running a highly successful and enjoyable mini fete. Thank you to all of the parents for their help and support behind the scenes, you should be very proud of your children’s efforts! Raffles and prizes will be announced tomorrow! 04.01.2022 This week we are celebrating SASS recognition week. We would like to say a huge thank you to all our SASS staff at KPS for everthing they do each day for students, staff and parents. Our SASS staff include our office ladies Mrs Shoobridge, Mrs Edwards, Mrs O'Meara, and Mrs Leete. Our General Assistant Mr Broughton and our School Learning and Support Officers Mrs Hanley, Mrs Compton, Mrs Gasper, Mrs Prince, Miss Crowe, Mrs Gudgin, Mrs Graham, Miss Hoult and Mr Caplice and our technology advisor Mrs Sanders. Thank you to all these fabulous people for everything you do at KPS.
