15.01.2022 Extreme weather conditions have forced Greek emergency services on high alert as a severe cold front sweeps through the country bringing snow and ice and making... travel very dangerous. State services are advising citizens to stay home and only travel when necessary due to the dangers posed by icy roads. The Greek islands are the hardest hit from the extreme weather with a state of emergency declared on Skopelos and others expected to follow. See more

10.01.2022 Annual BBQ 2019 What a great day! It was so nice to see so many family and friends once again come together. A big thank you to all our tireless volunteers.

08.01.2022 EVZONES COMING TO AUSTRALIA The visit by the Hellenic Presidential Guard to Australia will take place in about 2 weeks and will be honouring ANZAC commemoration... events here in Adelaide and Sydney. As part of their visit, the Evzones will also share in various other celebrations and events including attending the War Memorial (Adelaide) to pay their respects to the Anzacs who fought in Greece and Crete. The Greek Orthodox Community of SA is extremely proud and grateful to have the Hellenic Presidential Guard visit the Ridleyton Greek Home for the Aged on FRIDAY APRIL 21ST 2017 at 9:30AM for a 10:30AM START concluding at 1:00PM. (MORE EVENT DETAILS NEXT WEEK) The Evzones, or Evzoni, is the name of several historical elite light infantry and mountain units of the Greek Army. Today, it refers to the members of the Presidential Guard, an elite ceremonial unit that guards the Greek Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Presidential Mansion and the gate of Evzones camp in Athens. An Evzone is also known, colloquially, as a Tsoliás. (source Wikepedia)

A huge thank you to all our tireless volunteers whom with out you this would not be possible. Also thank you to Peter Andrinopoulos for taking our group photo.
