24.01.2022 Wanderlands Location: Cradle Mountain, Tasmania, Australia. Story: Wanderlands is a name that was created by a small group of photographers for this location because of the amount of fagus plants that grow in the area. On this day I decided to wander around Wanderlands to see what I could find. I found myself lost at times trying to navigate around cushion plants and fagus, as every gap in the fagus had a cushion plant in the path. Not wanting to damage the delicate cushions,... I found a new ways around which was tedious and time consuming, yet rewarding. In between the wind gust I managed to capture this image as the early afternoon light graced Cradle. On the way out of here the cloud began to hug the mountain and the twilight quickly became dark, sleet began to fall and with in minutes, A white-out condition storm hit. I hurried to the Overland track and took refuge in Kitchen hut for the evening. The storm was so vicious I thought the hut was going to blow over, I spent the night without a sleeping mat rolling around on the timber flooring waking up continuously. Eventually around about 2am The gusts of wind stopped. I decided to have a look outside. I turned my head lamp on and opened the door. I could only see white, visibility was down to less than a metre. I stuck it out until dawn when the fog began to lift where I captured kitchen hut in a beautiful fog blanket. 10.01.2022 Bay Of Fires Location: Bay Of Fires, Tasmania. Story: Binalong Bay, rests on the North-East Coast of Tasmania 10 min from St Helens.
