21.01.2022 We have just been notified by the Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy that camping is not to occur on our property. We will let you know when we are open. Keep safe and well.

21.01.2022 Just letting you all know that we are booked out for the 1st week of the school holidays, Easter and have some vacancies for 2nd week of school holidays. May and October long weekends are booked out as well.

20.01.2022 Just a reminder that you bring a toilet if camping on Karma Waters.

19.01.2022 Well it has been another busy start to the year and it doesn’t look like it’s slowing down! Posting a few photos from some of our projects, plenty of variety he...re, will have a go at most jobs apart from ally! Lol. Give us a go or recommend us to a mate, you won’t be stuffed around, only honest work at an honest price. Cheers for the support. See more

17.01.2022 Beautiful location with beautiful people!

17.01.2022 Happy New Year to you all. Unfortunately we haven't had any big falls of rain and still very dry. Letting you all know that I have no camp sites available over Easter. Don't be too disappointed as the river is usually over the camp sites that time of the year anyway and running very swift. Have a great year and we are praying for rain.

16.01.2022 Just an update on camping at Karma Waters. At this stage we are still closed. If you had a booking in May you are now unable to come. If there is any change I will certainly let you all know. If you would like to make any bookings for later in the year you can. Of course depending on where we are with the COVID 19. Keep safe and well; the river will still be here when this is all over.

15.01.2022 This is the pack down of our Overedger Pack camp kitchen - sorted in less than a minute! Show us your camping kitchen and let us know what you like most about it!

15.01.2022 We open our property for camping and this is what people leave behind. Very disappointing.

14.01.2022 This has been a difficult decision for us to make as we know you have all been looking forward to coming camping next month. We are all hearing the messages from both State and Federal Governments to stay home as much as possible. There is a police check point at Mt Carbine and you need a permit to pass, campers are non-essential so you will not be issued with one. We are now closed for April until further notice.

12.01.2022 Hi everyone, just a reminder that we are closed from the 24th December to the 1 April 2020. Alan and I will be away from the 31st December to the 4th January so if you would like to make any bookings for the year call/email after the 4th. We wish you all a great Christmas and a fantastic New Year.

10.01.2022 Thank goodness. Have been feeling for those businesses up on the Cape.

08.01.2022 Just an update on camping in April. There is a road block at Mt Carbine stopping people going to the Cape (Cook Shire) if you are non-essential eg. campers. However, we are in the Mareeba Shire and I cannot to find out if you will still be able to come camping on Karma at this stage. I think we just have to wait and see what the governments instructions are.

08.01.2022 We had 42mls on Friday night, was fantastic. Our first rain since April.

06.01.2022 Because we live on a property, 200klm north west of Cairns we usually buy in bulk before the wet season as we don't go in town every day and could get caught with the rain for a number of weeks. There are other station families in the same situation. Now I need to purchase toilet paper and groceries etc. there is none left! People in town have access to the shops every day! I believe Coles, IGA, Woollies etc. have a lot to answer for as well, they just looked at is as sale (money) and did not consider ALL of their customers. They should have put a limit on from the start. You can't tell me they didn't know what was going on.

06.01.2022 It is with absolute sadness that we inform our customers that due to the Queensland State Government, Cape York is remaining closed until another review of the ...Biosecurity is completed on the 12th of July. **Edit - as of the 11th of June, the Federal Government removed Queensland including all of Cape York and the Torres Strait, from the Bio Security Zone Determination and placed it under the control of the Queensland State Government** ~ Whilst we understand the Biosecurity is in place to protect our community’s vulnerable citizens, Cape York locals are permitted to travel to and from Cape York and interact with tourists in Cairns as they please, yet tourists are not permitted entry to Cape York. We find this ruling confusing and of complete double standards. ~ The Queensland Government has not once reached out to any local small business in the making of this decision and asked how this would impact our businesses. At a time when the rest of Queensland is free to travel as they please and explore this great State, and businesses across the State begin to rebuild and recover, we will not. ~ If you have a spare moment, please take the time to email the following politicians requesting they either offer Government support to Cape York businesses or re-open Cape York to tourism asap and allow us to support ourselves. ~ Annastacia Palaszczuk - [email protected] Shannon Fentiman (Minister for small business) - [email protected] Craig Crawford (Minister for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Partnerships) - [email protected] Kate Jones (Minister for tourism) - [email protected] Cynthia Lui (Member for Cook) - [email protected] We apologise for pushing such a political agenda onto our followers but we need your help to be heard. If anyone disagrees with what we’re trying to achieve, please refrain from posting as we’re in a vulnerable time at the moment, please just un-follow us instead. ~ Thank you again to everyone who has supported us to date we are very grateful. (Here are a few snippets from life in Weipa as a thank you for taking the time to read this post) Annastacia Palaszczuk MP

05.01.2022 Hi everyone, just letting you know that we are booked out for the September school holidays and the October long weekend. If I have an cancellations I will place on this site. Cheers Karen

05.01.2022 PS We are directed by the State Government. We are in no position to say yes you can come until they inform us that you can. If you would like to cancel any future bookings you already have that is fine by us.

03.01.2022 To all our campers in the Cook electorate, The Queensland State Election will be proceeding on Saturday 31st October with Pre-polling starting on the 19th October. Nipper Brown is our LNP candidate. He is a local lad, married, has local government experience, runs his own business and heavily involved with community and sporting organisations.... He prefers a hands-on approach when liaising with people, dealing with issues and isn't afraid of what challenges may arise. For a strong representation in Brisbane and a strong plan for the future of your family and business Vote 1 for Nipper. Check out is face book page to see where he as been over this vast, diverse electorate in the last few months.
