25.01.2022 Great to be back racing again at the AMB100. Double laps of Kowen and Sparrow, top effort from Karmea athlete Alberto Sunderland @regorhak (6th in cat) and coach Warren (4th in cat). Massive thanks to @rockytrailentertainment for putting together a winning format allowing racing to restart. #amb100 #canberra #mountainbiking

24.01.2022 With the news of more race cancellations yesterday, Coach Warren gives you some ideas on how to turn the negative into a possitive. RACE CANCELLATIONS How do you respond? Many of our athletes have been impacted by the cancellation or postponement of their target races. This naturally leads to disappointment and despondency, potentially with the feeling that all our training sessions and late night parties we avoided was for nothing ... It reminds me of Sri Chimnoy Triple Triathlon in 2014, an off-road triathlon of ironman distance. I had trained hard for 4 months, arrived a registration on the Saturday to discover the Sunday race cancelled due to hot temperatures and high winds closing all national parks. Wow, it felt like the world fell away what to do with all these pent up energy from taper week and all this training effort?? I ended up doing my own event a very hard 45km trail run in attempt to ‘use’ my fitness and get that endorphin / exhaustion high I so wanted. That’s my story, what about yours? What are you going to do in the face of no race, no finish line, no target? Actually, your goal still remains, your goal can still be in place, it’s just pushed out until another date, possibly later this year, possibly next. This is where your mental and emotional flexibility comes to the fore. There are things you cannot control on race day (what your competitors are doing, the weather) and the same applies in life. It is not what happens that dictates the outcome, but how you respond to what happens. And that, you can control. So look upon this time as a chance to bolster your weakness areas ocean swimming, hill climbs, whatever it might be. A chance to try new sports, different hobbies, learn new skills, have different experiences. Use this newfound time to the utmost, it’s all too often we hear our athletes say their races come around too soon this time they won’t, you have more time to train! Stay healthy, and keep living the Karmea life! - Coach W

23.01.2022 VRAAM is a grueling challenge. 4828km on an indoor trainer! When RAAM was cancelled this year Rupert Guinness was inspired to put his training to the test. He’s nailing it one week in. Alongside him is our very own Kent Williams aiming to ride 100kms a day he’s clocked up 900kms in a week. Inspiring! We are truly in awe of everyone taking part. Ride on guys and girls. #vraam #endurancecycling #fulgaz #mentalmiles

18.01.2022 GOOD LUCK to athlete Rob Louis taking on the 3 Peaks Challenge tomorrow. Only a little 235km through the Victorian alps with a mere 4000m vert! Ouch! God smash those hills Rob. #3peaks #bicyclenetwork #cyclevictoria #bloodybigridetime #welovehills

13.01.2022 Hey Karmea tribe. Sorry for the radio silence on social channels for the last little while. The Covid madness threw us a few curveballs and life spun full circle. We escaped to our home in the Snowy Mountains to wait things out. Then cancellations of races around the world, global travel bans and redundancy have seen us firmly plant our feet here in Jindabyne. Rest assured that Karmea is alive and kicking, providing high quality coaching for your races, programs are delivered online, and our weekly phone calls keep you accountable! With things easing we are starting to see races back on the calendar. Exciting times ahead! We look forward to continuing to guide you in your sporting quests and welcoming you to the mountains for some training! Bring your climbing legs - Sarah Anne & Warren. #triathlontraining #cyclecoaching

10.01.2022 Good luck to these legends! Karmea athletes Thomas and Michael take on Geelong 70.3 tomorrow. Both have already qualified for the world champs so the pressure is off which means they can leave it all out there, hold nothing back, and smash themselves! Oh wait, these guys do that anyway giving 120% every race Have a blast team! #geelong703 #ironman #triathlontraining #thisisracing #holdnothingback #fangit @ Geelong, Victoria

07.01.2022 We love this initiative! Get behind it ladies. Time to readdress the balance.

06.01.2022 It’s a pleasure as always to guide people to the start line of one of our favourite events on the cycling calendar. The Orange Challenge by Bicycle Network is almost here. Time to put all that training together!

06.01.2022 Not all heroes wear capes right? Athlete Gina ( Gina Lewis-Enright ) runs her own business, looks after kids, hubby and home, and trains her backside off. This weekend she nabbed a podium at the Bathurst hill climb and followed it up with the 100km B2B UCI qualifier. Illness and a step up in work load scuppered her training but she only knows how to give 120% on race day. Gina we are so proud of you. Time for some rest and recovery. we know she will be planning her next adventure already!! #proudcoaches #b2b #mwcc #womenscycling #cycling #cyclinggoals #mumswhocycle #hero @ Bathurst, New South Wales

05.01.2022 When races are cancelled, we dig deep to stay motivated and keep training. With the cancellation of Convict 100 Mtb marathon, Karmea athlete Rob Louis got out there and did his own monster 7hr Mtb epic. Good on ya Rob! Here’s to making your own fun! https://youtu.be/dIClpzU0-X4

03.01.2022 Coach SA and her Veloroos sisters are ride leaders for the @braincancercillective Bike Ride For Brain Cancer in April. We love supporting this event each year. 01.01.2022 Geelong 70.3? Nailed it With these two now battling it out in the same age group things get very interesting. So bloody proud of Thomas and Michael for racing their hearts out on Saturday. Both super close to a top ten finish in a highly competitive AG and significant improvements across the race. Sometimes when there’s nothing left to loose you find yourself that little bit extra. Amazing work guys! #triathlontraining #ironman #imworldchampionship #triathlon @ Geelong, Victoria
