20.01.2022 New earrings up for sale AUD$49 (incl postage within Australia) These pretty earrings have been made entirely by my hands - glass lampwork beads, torched in fire and properly cleaned and kiln annealed for added durability. ... The wires are 925 sterling silver (none of that plated crap!!) and have been formed using my own design. 925 sterling silver stopper beads finish the look above the hand-hammered ends. The beads have just the right pop of colour, featuring translucent glass on top with opaque bottom and fine silver decoration Grab them now - just comment SOLD on the pic of the ones you want... a gift to yourself, or someone you love (Earrings have been photographed as accurately as possible, but variation in colour on different screens are outside my control )
19.01.2022 I’ve also been playing around with fire and glass (sooo much fun!)... and so I’ve made a few sets of pendants and earrings. This set is an ombré between grass green and straw yellow transparent, with a little transparent black decoration. The tube shaped lampwork glass beads are made by me - torched in fire and properly cleaned and kiln annealed for added durability. The pendant I’ve created is definitely 925 sterling silver from the bail down to the tassel.... (The 50cm chain is marked as 925 but I’m not entirely sure it is solid sterling, so I’m going with silver-plated to be on the safe side) The earrings are made on 960 Argentium sterling silver, hand formed into my own design. They are approx 63mm from ear hole to the bottom, and 925 sterling silver stopper beads finish the look and match the pendant. - The set is AUD $75 Postage $10 in Australia (international is a bit tricky at the moment) Just comment SOLD and they’re yours - I’ll message you with my PayPal details - I’m not a professional photographer, and I’ve done my best to capture the colour of the glass as accurately as I can. Please be aware that there are variations in colour representation across various screens and devices

16.01.2022 Some pics of my beautiful scarf and nearly finished bag from @chelletextiles workshop at Urunga (south of Coffs Harbour, Australia) over the weekend, hosted by @carolinesharkeytextiles .... Michelle is a fantastic tutor, and Caroline is a fantastic organiser and host. Next time you see a workshop by either of these creative women, get yourself on the list and your butt at their workshop - well worth it #karolineart #textileart #machineembroidery #handmadeart #brisbaneartist #textileretreat #coastalthreads #textileworkshop
15.01.2022 AUD$79 including postage within Australia These elegant necklaces feature a gorgeous lampwork bead, along with 925 sterling silver chain, components and tassel, all handmade by me. High quality and definitely one of a kind. With mothers day just around the corner, why not get her something that no-one else has (or you could simply treat yourself just because!)... Theres a close up pic in the comments for each photo. To purchase, just comment SOLD on the photo of the one you want, and Ill message you with PayPal payment details and to get your address. --- Note that all my glass beads are directly kiln annealed and are cleaned by hand. Annealing gives added strength so the beads dont shatter. But glass is still a delicate medium and should be treated with care.
15.01.2022 My lampwork glass beads sitting around, calling for me to do something with them! Theyve been moved around and rearranged a few times, and they get added to and removed from. When I sit at the torch I usually limit myself by colour palette or technique or shape... practicing my skills and creating as many different beads within those limits that I can think of.... I rarely create 2 of exactly the same (one part boredom one part lack of precision!)... I like grouping things that are similar but different. So here you can see some sets that have come together, and some odds and sods that will probably go in my odds jar that is already full. Im thinking bracelets at the moment... what do you think?
15.01.2022 Next up is this sterling silver statement ring featuring a pale rose quartz cabochon. Handmade by me! Rose quartz is all about love and compassion. But most importantly its about learning to love yourself - as the perfectly imperfect soul that you are. It helps us to recognise that each aspect of ourselves is both helpful and unhelpful, and guides us through the process of learning to fully recognise, accept and cherish both our strengths and our weaknesses. All with an open...ing heart and a compassionate mind. - Size is US 8 / AUS approx Q / diameter is approx 18mm Price is AUD $85 + $10 postage within Australia. For international postage please PM me. 10.01.2022 Just wanted to show off what Im working on... some rings with (l-r) tanzanite, citrine, rose quartz and aquamarine cabochons. Still got a bit of dry refining to do before I cross my fingers and put them in the kiln Silver metal clay is a very fun medium to work with, and the brand I love to work with is made right here in Australia!!
08.01.2022 Heres another ring Ive recently finished and this one is also up for sale. Completely hand fabricated in sterling silver, this simple design has been lightly patinated to enhance its perfect imperfections. The stone is an aquamarine teardrop cabochon.... 06.01.2022 A few days ago I watched an Instagram video by BeadsbyLaura (https://instagram.com/beadsbylaura) about how she makes her Galaxy beads (btw her beads are amazing - you should totally check them out!! ). Anyway, I wanted to share the result of my experiments based loosely on the technique she generously shared. Its always fun to try a new technique or way of doing things - so thank you Laura for inspiring my efforts! All these beads use the same basic method and colours - ...black base, silver foil, stringers of blue, purple and aqua, and a bit of silver wire. But in playing around with the order of applying things and the way Ive laid them down completely changes how each bead looks. I thought it was really cool anyways
05.01.2022 A new sterling silver ring Ive recently made, featuring a stunning narrow oval, natural blue Kyanite and two white CZs. Nice and solid but not too heavy. Kyanite assists with communication, promotes calmness, enhances intuition and maintains positive energy flow.
05.01.2022 Some newly-made glass pretties waiting to be turned into earrings... am in love with the frit mixes by @glitteringprizeglass, so fine and packed with colour #karolineart #lampwork #lampworkbeads #brisbaneartist #buylocalart #handmadejewelry
05.01.2022 Heres a ring I recently made featuring a lovely tear drop Labradorite, set in sterling silver. The band and bezel are heavily textured and patinaed. Ive left the silver slightly matt, rather than a high shine. This secretive little stone has hidden depths, with tiny shimmery particles throughout, and a purple flash on the left side that only shows at just the right angle.... Completely handmade and hand set by me This ring is sized US 7 / AU N-O. The diameter of the shank is approx 17mm. Labradorite is often referred to as the stone of transformation. It helps you during times of change, giving you the strength, patience and clarity to see those changes through. This ring is available for AUD$90 plus $9 postage within Australia ($19 for international post). - To purchase, please comment SOLD and message me your address so I can message back PayPal details. - (I do my best to photograph my work in natural light and as close to actual colour as possible. Some difference in colour representation across devices is unavoidable and should be expected)
04.01.2022 Heres a sterling silver ring I recently created, featuring an oval tanzanite cabochon. Tanzanite is one of my absolute favourite stones - ranging in colour from purple to blue. The most sought after stones have shifts of both purple and blue in the same stone. Tanzanite encourages you to show your true self instead of trying to fit in other peoples mold - allowing you to express who you truly are, and to follow what resonates with you.... It helps you discover the depth of your existence and break away from the constructs that constrain you. - Size is US 8 1/4 / AUS approx Q-Q1/2 / diameter is just over 18mm Price is AUD $95 + $10 postage within Australia. For international postage please PM me. To buy this ring, please comment SOLD and I will PM you with PayPal info. - Im not a professional photographer, and Ive done my best to capture the ring accurately. The stone is not quite as dark as shown in the photos. Please be aware that there are variations in colour representation across various screens and devices
