23.01.2022 A stud is born Karragarra Simmentals is located in Emerald, Central Queensland and operated by owners Wayne and Ingrid York. The history behind the genetics of the stud began 40 years ago when Wayne’s parents Cliff and Joy York purchased their first Simmental bull from that bull, they then went on to develop Billa Park Simmentals, which over time become one of the largest most recognised Simmental studs in Australia.... Through succession planning the stud was passed down to their three sons, and in 2020 Karragarra Simmentals was born. Karragarra Simmentals now operates with two-thirds of the original family herd and continues to utilise the best genetics available to breed consistent, high quality even lines of bulls. The stud selects for bone, clean coats, abundant muscle, fat coverage, weight for age, market suitability, volume, fertility and doing ability. Sale animals are available on farm or through the annual sale in early October.
