20.01.2022 Chance for input by residents, say nothing get what is delivered Keith Turner Karra rep KYC
15.01.2022 Don't forget our AGM this Saturday, 20th July 2019. All members are invited to come along and meet the new Commodore and join us for a sausage 'sanga'. We would appreciate some idea of numbers for catering, so send us a text or email, so we know how many we need to feed.
15.01.2022 About 30 members rocked up today for our AGM and to welcome the new committee. Commodore - Graham Moss, Vice Commodore - Ian McLaughlin, Secretary - Diane Moss ...with Deb Hayman continuing as Treasurer. Ex-Commodore, Keith Turner is staying on the committee, as the Karra rep, and another ex-Commodore, Col McInnes, has put his hand up again and will be our Lamb Island rep. No nominations were received for either Macleay or Russell Island rep positions. See more
11.01.2022 I will give all mooring owners fair warning MSQ are doing checks on moorings and fining people who have vessels on their mooring not registered to that mooring, and it will cost you up to $500.00
08.01.2022 Hello Members, Well it has been quite a while since we've been in touch, so there are quite a few things to catch up on. As we advised at the AGM last July, all the committee members had planned to step down due to numerous other commitments. With no-one willing to take over the reins at that time, everyone agreed to stay on for 2018/2019.... Your current committee members will not be renominating for 2019/2020. Please consider nominating either yourself, or with gentle harassment, someone you think would make a great committee member to help the club continue to move forward, please remember no committee no KYC so there must be some club members prepared to hold positions. Our 2019 AGM will be held on Saturday 27 July at 11.00am. Sadly, we have lost a few members over the last few months ... and all well before their time. We extend our sympathies to the families of Robert Hopgood, Bob Hough and Pat Springett. So remember that life is often much too short, so hug those close to you and live life everyday. The past is gone, the present is a gift and the future is not guaranteed.
06.01.2022 Dolphin alert! On our last expedition in Moreton Bay, we came across a young subadult near Karragarra and Macleay Islands that had a fishing line entanglement a...round its dorsal fin. This dolphin has also been seen off Peel Island. If you are in the Southern Moreton Bay area, please keep a lookout for it and report it to 1300 ANIMAL (1300 264 625) (QLD RSPCA Hotline) to help us keep track of this dolphin and its health. Unfortunately, this is a common occurrence in Moreton Bay and we often see dolphins with injuries from such entanglements in fishing line. You can help prevent such injuries and protect the local dolphins by reeling in your fishing line when dolphins are about, keeping fishing line secure to ensure it doesn’t become marine litter, collect discarded fishing line and litter, keep your distance and abide by dolphin watching regulations (no approach of 50m in QLD), not feeding or attempting to attract dolphins (it is illegal). It is up to all of us together to protect these animals and their habitats. #dolphin #whale #moretonbay #brisbane #quandamookacountry #entanglement #saveourmarinelife #marinelitter #responsiblefishing
