25.01.2022 Karralika Programs acknowledges and celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples during NAIDOC week and throughout the year in many different ways. Across our programs, staff and clients are participating in a range of NAIDOC week activities, learning together and adding our voices in recognition that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years, and continue to do so - Always Was, Always Will Be.

24.01.2022 Thank you ACTCOSS - ACT Council of Social Service Inc. for this wonderful Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander resource pack, that was part of their Reconciliation Week draw where Community organisations were asked to respond to the following; "It has been 20 years since people came together to walk on bridges and roads across Australia to show their support for a more reconciled Australia. Share how your workplace will walk together towards reconciliation." One of our wond...erful cultural support workers participated in this draw explaining how we as an organisation are working with our residents and staff to build and support growth and knowledge with in our therapeutic community; On Thursday, 28th May we will be screening IN MY BLOOD at our various locations with residents and staff all joining in to watch, shortly after we will hold a discussion on the up and running in Karralika by the end of this year with residents participating in a weekly group. Our aim is to have First Nations people in our programs feeling welcome and connected and most of all thriving to be leaders for their communities when they leave us. See more

17.01.2022 Karralika Programs call back day is every second Friday where those who are wishing to enter our residential programs (ACT) can call to book an assessment. To be eligible for an assessment you are required to complete an initial enquiry with one of our team, you will be asked to answer a few basic questions that will assess if we are the correct service for you. If you meet our eligible criteria for an assessment and you decide that we can provide support, you will then be ...provided the call back date to book a comprehensive assessment. Time slots do fill quickly, so it is advised to call in the morning from 9.am on wards. Current Call back dates are 2019 December 6th and 20th Christmas / New Year’s 2020 January 3rd, 17th and 31st

Although NAIDOC week has been confirmed for November 2020 a special digital event will be held on Tuesday 7th July with the approval of the National Committee and we’d love you to join in. Participating community sector organisations will be hosting a live stream Q & A sessio...n with local community members to discuss the meaning and importance of Aboriginal culture to them, with particular focus on this year’s theme ‘Always Was, Always Will Be’. We acknowledge the hurt and pain suffered, and the continuing importance of working together to build relationships and trust by demonstrating, through all that we say and do, that we are committed to reconciliation and that as a nation and a community, we are stronger together.
