Who knew that giving my new in home studio a whirl with ' Please, Please, Please' by legend James Brown would result in two of my children rushing into the room because they thought I was pleading for my life against intruders, only to find me with headphones on singing into microphone, recording! Ripping headphones off my head they did the 'ol' " Do you know what time it is!" Who would have guessed they would both be asleep 11:30pm at night? Every one meet Akka & Voula They are two girls who are going to be sisters for our 'Husky' the husky soon. Many of you know that we adopted Husky last year, and we are so happy we are going to be adding to our pack soon. Akka & Voula are rescue dogs through Happy Huskies Victoria Inc. and we are so happy they contacted us to adopt these two beautiful queens. Thank you Jocelyn Peucker I want to give a shout out to Ellen Nurse for being a great foster mum and sending me pics and the integral importance fostering plays in making sure rescued dogs are okay and nurtured into their forever homes. I know from travelling along the road into Millicent that there are about 3 big muscly 'Skips' on the outskirts that I feel are planning a major coup of some sorts. I am a big believer in whatever a child's natural abilities are, that is what they are meant to be pursuing. If they want to sing, let them sing! 03.01.2022 Clean hands and a bottle of piss! This is a bit of a long one, but stick with me & read it through & then share. Ladies & Gentlemen, Schools, Venues, Businesses, absolutely everybody 'lend me your ears' and answer my call, I need you to do something important! I am calling you to go to http://fnqspirits.com.au and buy some of their hand sanitiser! If you don't want it, then donate it to a local business that is forced to follow COVIDSafe plans as part of their re-opening ob...ligations, donate it to a nursing home, or a local school. I don't want to hear excuses about cost, because the sanitiser that FNQ Spirits made is not only compliant to the Australian Government, Department of Health, Therapeutic Goods Administration as a therapeutic goods hand sanitiser, but also the very high alcohol content is reflected in the price. In other words, it's top-quality germ killing stuff. I came across a post here on Facebook regarding FNQ Spirits and the call out the Government gave to distilleries throughout Australia to manufacture hand sanitiser, of which many answered the call, including FNQ Spirits. 02.01.2022 Why in the hell would you send children who have been potentially exposed and have not been quarantined for 14 days to a neighbouring school!!? It's obvious they haven't thought this through. It is blatantly obvious that it's more important to stick to their status quo that 'schools are safe' than it is to protect the leaders of tomorrow. I don't know about you guys, but I have a real problem with this! For months the Government has been telling us 'schools are safe', how...ever, I have a 16-year-old with a compromised immune system so I have kept him home, and done home-schooling. My thought process has always been: 1. What if children of our brave essential workers unknowingly have the virus and pass it on. I feel for the children of essential workers, they are just as brave as their parents and have to keep going to school so their parents can function as the heroes they are. 2. Teachers who have essential worker partners can unknowingly have the virus and pass it on to students. Which once again, considering the children of essential workers who have to be at school are also compromised by teachers. It's a 'Catch-22' situation for these children. What I find abysmal about this story in Victoria and how they are going to handle it is: 1. They are going to close the school for a few days to clean it 2. Students who cannot learn online are going to be sent to neighbouring schools until the school re-opens. Whilst I understand children who cannot learn online are most probably the children of essential workers, why in the hell would you send children who have been potentially exposed and have not been quarantined for 14 days to a neighbouring school!!? What has been done for the manner of quarantining these children, as heartbreaking as that sounds so that they do not pass on to their family members at home? What if parents have already taken them on those needed shopping trip? This is a deplorable reaction by the State Government of Victoria and all states really for the instance that schools are safe. They haven't looked at the wider picture.
