25.01.2022 Have you ever noticed your kart sliding on exits? Hitting the inside kerbs regularly? Well most newcomers to the sport turn in too early! This results in us ha...ving a tighter radius to corner (so we can’t drive as fast around it) and we hit kerbs continually. I think this can be caused by our vision (knowing our eyes drive the kart) and we don’t look far enough around the corners. By looking further around, you’ll apex later and widen your turns. You can learn more with our Kart Class programs that will be available shortly. ** I didn’t pay the driver to take my marker out for the video!

22.01.2022 In-case you missed it last night Channel 7 News did a story on Oscar Piastri's F3 Championship win. They had a chat with James Sera and visited the track (which is looking just as desperate for a post-lockdown haircut as the rest of us)

22.01.2022 To celebrate ticking over 3,500 Facebook followers I thought it was time to freshen up the Pace Images logo a bit. Big thanks to Daniel and Brian at Versatile Design - Racing Image for their work!

22.01.2022 MEMBERS UPDATE We have had a couple of people ask when we are having a practice day. Under Stage 3 restrictions we can only have 10 people in total at the track... at once, plus with COVID case numbers lifting in the South West it was decided to keep the track closed and keep everyone safe. Now with numbers coming down all members are welcome to join a Zoom meeting this coming Thursday night at 7.30pm to discuss the possibility of opening the track, in a COVID safe environment, but with this said we do hope that on the 13th September all restrictions will go back to Stage 2, but this is the unknown at this stage. We would also like to plan the possibility of club days returning as well, at this meeting too. Recently we have been successful in receiving a grant to do some upgrades around the club rooms and would like to discuss the work to be undertaken as well. Members please get online on Thursday night and put forward your thoughts! A zoom meeting link will be emailed and text to all current members in the next couple of days.

18.01.2022 A massive thank you to the guys who came up early this morning to give a hand in pouring the concrete in the new scales shed. Also thanks to Nathan Tresize from Superior Concrete & Construction. It’s definitely looking great and the track is almost ready for our next club day!

12.01.2022 Dear Members, ELKC recognises and understands the challenges facing our members during these unprecedented times. Our number one priority remains looking after ...the best interest of all our members, which is why it has been decided to extend current memberships by 6 months. This will bring your membership expiry to 30th June 2021. Membership registration day will now be held on the June 2021 Club Day weekend instead of January/February as we normally would have done. 2021 Membership renewal fees will be charged at a 6 month rate with an expiry of 31st December 2021. We hope this extension gives members some financial reprieve during these hard times. We look forward to seeing you all at the track real soon. Kind Regards ELKC Committee

11.01.2022 Big moment here!

09.01.2022 First day on the kart track. Making memories is what our sport is about! Bloody good fun giving these kids their first opportunity behind the wheel.

09.01.2022 There’s no doubt that Melbourne karters, karting businesses, engine builders and families are all struggling with what’s going on at the moment. We are stuck a...t home while the rest of the country continues on with life, and we watch as others are back at the track racing, even though it’s just an hour up the road we cannot go! For some, we are at a track every weekend, that might be racing, practicing, driver training and supporting others while they race. You miss this, it’s tough, a big part of your life is missing at the moment and you haven’t seen your mates in ages! We are going to get back to the track soon, this will end! Stay strong Melbourne and Anarchy customers and we will see you at the track again before you know it.

08.01.2022 Karting Australia has confirmed the dates and venues for several upcoming State Championship events that form part of the National Karting Calendar. 07.01.2022 If you give your child a gokart, they will want to drive. You’ll buy them the best kart you can find, followed by a helmet and race suit. You look for local ...tracks to drive at weekends, where you start to socialise with the karting communityAnd then life as you know it, will end. Before you know it, they want to RACE so you find a CLUB..There will be no more lazy weekends watching tv. You will see more sunrises than you ever thought possible. Every spare minute of your time will be spent hauling campers, caravans and karts and enduring a crazy addiction to practice for the race. Your house may be a mess, and your car will be dirty. All because you gave your child a go kart. Your weekends will be spent freezing or burning to death on a fold up chair. And their weekends will be spent gaining confidence and friends, learning new skills and having fun and getting out there. You will be there the day he or she makes there first holeshot , first podium, first win. And they will make you SO proud. Other parents will congratulate you, but you feel weird saying thank you because it's not you on the track, it’s your child. It's everything that they did, they achieved. And right before your eyes, your little boy/girl will be transformed from the baby who spun around on their junior kart into an expert. When you give your child a go kart, you give them more than just something to ride. You give them a sport, a talent, hopes and dreams. Friends, a new family, a place to learn about life, room to grow as a person where they can push their limits, and bravery, and courage, and memories. And they will have ALL of these things, simply because you gave your child a kart. Because you gave your child a kart, you too will develop new/lifelong friendships, developed solely from the same passion for the sport. You will have a gokart family because you gave your child a go kart. Then one day, many years from todaythey will be in their room and a certain trophy will catch their eye. And they will pick it up and realise instantly that when you gave your child a kart, you also gave them a childhood that they would never forget, at this point, you realise that everything you gave up along the way and sacrificed was totally worth it.. All because you gave your child a go kart

06.01.2022 Thanks everyone that braved the cool weather for club day today! It was a great day racing once all the frost dried up. Big thanks to all our wonderful volunteers in the canteen, setting up and of course our officials. Stay tuned for details of the next one!

06.01.2022 Unfortunately due to the current travel restrictions in place for Victorians to NSW, at this stage Pace Images won't be able to attend the revised Round 2 of th...e 2020 Australian Kart Championship in Newcastle. If the NSW Government decides to open the gate between now and then I'll endeavour to make it there, but with the current 14 day quarantine rule in place sadly it's not feasible. For those competitors that have purchased Season Passes for 2020, please be assured that you'll still be in credit for photos at 4 Rounds of AKC, which will rollover into 2021. Good luck to all that can be there. Hope to see you all at Round 3!

05.01.2022 I’ve been getting a lot of calls lately from newcomers into karting expecting results from day 1 and being frustrated that they are off the pace and not on the ...podium. I look back to when I started, & people who remember will tell you it took me a good 2 years (practice most weekends or race) before I started to show any signs of being competitive let alone winning trophies. It wasn’t until a break through win in Tasmania that I got the confidence that I was able to beat other drivers. Everyone thought I couldn’t drive! Karting isn’t like football, tennis and soccer where you can practice at school or in the backyard. When kids are driving in excess of 90km/h, we sometimes expect that they should be able to brake as late as max Verstappen, hit an apex like Lewis Hamilton and overtake like Michael Schumacher. If you see other kids progressing don’t stress, learn the fundamentals and your time will come like mine did. Albeit a little longer!

04.01.2022 Hi all, It’s been a while since our last post as we have been patiently waiting to see how the current situation in Victoria evolves. Today Karting Victoria has... announced that all open meetings, which includes our series, for the remainder of 2020 have been cancelled. The GPS committee congratulates KV on what would have been a tough decision to make. The series supports this decision given the current situation and magnitude of these events. Hope everyone stays safe as we look forward to returning to the track in 2021 for hopefully a full 6 round series. See more
