24.01.2022 **IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT** Due to Covid-19 and the Prime Ministers restrictions in place in relation to the outbreak, the Barossa Go Kart Club committee have de...cided to postpone our race meeting on the 4th April. The health and safety of ALL involved in Karting is our #1 priority. We will keep you updated as best we can with any future developments. We thank you for your understanding and ongoing support.

24.01.2022 COVID CLUSTER IMPACT ON KARTING IN SA SA KART CHAMPIONSHIP CANCELLED Following the announcement of new COVID Restrictions by South Australian Premier Steven Marshall on Monday afternoon in response to the Parafield Gardens COVID-19 cluster, the SA Kart Championship scheduled for this weekend has been cancelled. ALL COMMUNITY SPORT CANCELLED... The Premier announced ‘that all Community sport is temporarily cancelled, for both indoor and outdoor sports, contact and non contact.’ The time frame for the cancellation of sport in South Australia will be for at least the next two (2) weeks. As a result, all competition and social karting activities at Karting Australia licenced venues in the State will cease as of 11:59pm this evening until further notice. Competitors who have entered the SA Kart Championship will receive a full refund in the coming days.

23.01.2022 STATEMENT: AUSTRALIAN KART CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND THREE South Australian COVID-19 Cluster Forces Championship Cancellation Round 3 of the 2020 SP Tools Australian K...art Championship presented by Castrol EDGE will not proceed and no Champions will be declared for 2020. The decision to halt the Championship has been made due to the current COVID cluster in South Australia and the responses to that that are being made both in that State and by numerous other State governments. Our priority since we announced the revised event dates in August has been to try and complete a three Round Championship, said Karting Australia CEO Kelvin O’Reilly. Our planning for the last round was in very good shape until the South Australian outbreak became apparent on Sunday evening. The fact that a number of State Governments have immediately decided to shut their state borders with South Australia or Adelaide, combined with the ongoing Queensland border restrictions covering Victoria and Sydney, makes it impossible to run the last round. Our focus will now turn fully to 2021. I would like to thank the Karting Australia affiliated clubs that worked with us to provide multiple host venue options for Round three. The challenges of operating a national sport and national events in the COVID era are enormous. Sometimes having multiple contingencies planned is just not enough and that is the case on this occasion. The safety and wellbeing of our karting family and the community at large is the singular most important thing, and we will never deviate from that. The schedule for 2021 SP Tools Australian Kart Championship presented by Castrol EDGE will be released in due course. Ends

11.01.2022 It is with great sadness that the Whyalla Go Kart Club is informing the Karting Community about the passing of beloved club member Brad Skelton. Brad passed a...way late last week with his family by his side. Brad moved to Whyalla, joining the karting community and Whyalla club in early 2017. He joined the clubs committee from the very beginning also lending a hand at multiple working bees long before he even got to turn a wheel! Brad finally made his racing debut in June 2017 finishing a promising 2nd in class and also catching the addictive karting bug. Brad would go on to take 2 event class wins and many more podiums until his final race this year. Although his recent results in what the club liked to joke with him as controversial equipment! (A club joke regarding his improved pace and race craft in a near obsolete Leopard) Brads presence at the club and on the track will be surely missed. His cheerful humour and hard working attitude was the epitome of a karting club member. Rest In Peace Brad, the #73 will be missed by everyone A small memorial service will be held at the go kart club on Sunday afternoon 3pm
