25.01.2022 Ive completed Infection Control Training - COVID 19. Im was already doing all the steps, but I have added cleaning all surfacing including the couch, table and door handles between clients. Im seeing a lot of stress management clients, as this virus has affected them emotionally due to the overload and exposure to panic. Shop workers and nurses are really feeling it. ... Please be kind to each other. Show empathy if someone is stressed and listen to their concerns. But also get them to bring it back to the moment, is it really affecting them personally or are they projecting to what might be. As always, do not come in if you are unwell, have a temperature, cough or sore throat. A massage will probably make you feel worse and you could spread it to other people. Boost your immune health with good food, water, exercise, vitamin C and other supplements to support your dietary needs and kind thoughts. Take care
24.01.2022 Its Friday. Time to party...oh wait, theres nothing open...
23.01.2022 Please stop getting stressed and panicked with this virus. That will compromise your immune system, and a strong immune system is what you need to protect you, as well as good hand hygiene, sneezing into your elbow or a tissue and just the normal amount of toilet roll in your cupboard
23.01.2022 Wherever you are, be there totally Eckhart Tolle This is what I have on my little blackboard outside my treatment room. Never has it been more true than now. Wherever you are now, be there fully and totally. Gratitude and peace to all.
23.01.2022 If you're happy and content, you've won. But if you're complaining, it means you haven't won yet and you should stop complaining and do something about it instead!!

As I cant do hands on treatments on my clients, my son Alex has volunteered. He is very ticklish, so a little bit squirmy
20.01.2022 If were not taking the time to contemplate what we want, to write things down and learn new information, then how do we know whats possible? If were not fill...ing our brains with knowledge, then we wont know the dream job existsor that we can have an out-of-body experience, heal ourselves of disease or chronic pain, or create something out of nothingand therefore, were not even aware of the possibility. Knowledge & information are the raw materials of creation. The more knowledge we gainthe more we read or learn about people who have done what were setting out to dothe more inspired we are to make the possibility become a reality. This contemplation begins a neurological building process whereby were essentially rewiring our brains, causing synapses to fire in new patterns & combinations. Whenever we make our brain work differently, were literally changing our mind. Thats because, according to neuroscience, mind is the brain in action. When we ask questions like... What would it be like to have a great job? Who do I have to be in order to create a loving relationship? What would it take to travel the world? our frontal lobe sends signals across the brain, selects existing neural networks (based on the knowledge weve gained and the experiences we had) & seamlessly pieces them together to create a new level of mind. When this occurs, we now have a new intention or vision of the future. With the intention locked in our frontal lobe, the new thought becomes a new possibility or potential in the quantum field. A certain percentage of people who do this will embrace an elevated emotion & thus be inspired by their vision of the future. In that moment, from a biological perspective, their brain & body moves from living in the past to living in the future. The clear intention, combined with a heightened emotion begins to give the body a taste of whats possible in the future. The bottom line is that if youre serious about creating a new future, then you better be engaged in the process of creating a vision of the future, because if youre not, then that means youre more in love with your past than you are with your future. It's that simple. See more

12.01.2022 Why Random acts of kindness are important (more than ever) In the midst of a global pandemic COVID-19. There is a lot of fear and anxiety in people, with panic buying and tempers heightened. So its important to remember our humanity. How can we help each other. What can I do to make a small, but significant difference to the world.... Heres a video I did in Randam acts of Kindness week. I didnt share it with fear my hair looked a bit out of control and I thought I rambled a bit. But really, is that important? It certainly isnt. If anyone needs anything, please reach out by private message or commenting. Ill do whatever I can to help. While those around you feel fear, be brave and courageous and show them a different way of being. So big hair aside, please watch and do something good today. Much love Karen
10.01.2022 Boosting your immune system and flushing out toxins is paramount to assist your bodys natural defences Bone broth has been used in many countries for centuries to do just that. So day one of isolation. ... How to make bone broth. Speak to your friendly butcher and ask for some bones. These are 2 free range organic beef. If you have a slow cooker place them in and cover with water. Ive added onion, carrot, bay leaf, kale or leafy veg, celery, herbs, chilli, salt and pepper. You add whatever you have. I like spicy, but chilli isnt for everyone. Set it to high until the temperature is up and the water is bubbling. Then reduce it to low and leave it over night. If you dont have a slow cooker, place everything in a large pan and it maybe best to do this on the hob in the daytime on a low heat, especially if a gas hob, so you can keep a close watch over it. In the morning you will have a healthy and nutritious hot liquid, that will flush out viruses in your throat and down into your stomach where stomach acid will kill it off. Drink a cup every hour if your have cold or flu symptoms, otherwise drink as required. This can be used as a stock for making soups and stus too. Enjoy

08.01.2022 Good advise from a respiratory therapist! CORONA Common Sense Since they are calling on Respiratory therapist to help fight the Corona virus, and I am a retired... one, too old to work in a hospital setting. I'm gonna share some common sense wisdom with those that have the virus and trying to stay home. If my advice is followed as given you will improve your chances of not ending up in the hospital on a ventilator. This applies to the otherwise generally healthy population, so use discretion. 1. Only high temperatures kill a virus, so let your fever run high. Tylenol, Advil. Motrin, Ibuprofen etc. will bring your fever down allowing the virus to live longer. They are saying that ibuprophen, advil etc will actually exacerbate the virus. Use common sense and don't let fever go over 103 or 104 if you got the guts. If it gets higher than that take your tylenol, not ibuprophen or advil to keep it regulated. It helps to keep house warm and cover up with blankets so body does not have to work so hard to generate the heat. It usually takes about 3 days of this to break the fever. 2. The body is going to dehydrate with the elevated temperature so you must rehydrate yourself regulaly, whether you like it or not. Gatorade with real sugar, or pedialyte with real sugar for kids, works well. Why the sugar? Sugar will give your body back the energy it is using up to create the fever. The electrolytes and fluid you are losing will also be replenished by the Gatorade. If you don't do this and end up in the hospital they will start an IV and give you D5W (sugar water) and Normal Saline to replenish electrolytes. Gatorade is much cheaper, pain free, and comes in an assortment of flavors 3. You must keep your lungs moist. Best done by taking long steamy showers on a regular basis, if your wheezing or congested use a real minty toothpaste and brush your teeth while taking the steamy shower and deep breath through your mouth. This will provide some bronchial dialation and help loosen the phlegm. Force your self to cough into a wet wash cloth pressed firmly over your mouth and nose, which will cause greater pressure in your lungs forcing them to expand more and break loose more of the congestion. 4. Eat healthy and regularly. Gotta keep your strength up. 5. Once the fever breaks, start moving around to get the body back in shape and blood circulating. 6. Deep breath on a regular basis, even when it hurts. If you don't it becomes easy to develop pneumonia. Pursed lip breathing really helps. That's breathing in deep and slow then exhaling through tight lips as if your blowing out a candle, blow until you have completely emptied your lungs and you will be able to breath in an even deeper breath. This helps keep lungs expanded as well as increase your oxygen level. 7. Remember that every medication you take is merely relieving the symptoms, not making you well. 8. If your still dying go to ER. I've been doing these things for myself and my family for over 40 years and kept them out of the hospital, all are healthy and still living today. Thank you all for sharing. We gotta help one another. This was copied and pasted from a respiratory therapist post See more

04.01.2022 If I was to continue offering remedial massage at Kasona, this is almost the protection Im required to wear. Not exactly, but Im trying to make light of a difficult situation. With Covid-19 almost having us in lockdown in Australia, it is with a heavy heart I have to stop until further notice. Im still offering stress management techniques via FaceTime or Skype. And Im also working towards a group Zoom meeting addressing specific issues and you can all release and let g...o together. There will be details sent out very soon. At this difficult time, we need to recognise our stress and work through it. Always stay connected to people, share your thoughts and feelings, youre not alone. Its a unique opportunity to build and grow together (with social distance). Love and life Karen xx
