22.01.2022 #newproject #notforprofit #bushfiresaustralia #australiaburns #australiandrought #globalclimatechange #wakeuptoclimatechangeaustralia #thisshitisreal Hi guys, Just sending a shout out to all those amazing individuals who are rolling up their sleeves and or digging deep into their piggy banks to do what they can to contribute in positive and proactive ways to the devastation that has gripped eastern Australia from north to south and everywhere in between. Unprecedented prolo...nged drought and now a catastrophic bushfire crisis are bringing out the very best of the Aussie spirit. On a personal level I am working toward completing several artworks that are Intended responses to both the drought and the bushfire crisis. While some works will be offered for sale with 100 percent of the sale proceeds to go toward a yet to be decided bushfire crisis charity, the majority are not saleable works. I am not looking to profit from these distressing events, I am in my own small way working on the call to action on global climate change that our nation is so tragically resisting to acknowledge and commit to. With this in mind, I am seeking support from those who have been effected by either the prolonged drought or the ongoing bushfire crisis directly or indirectly to assist in the collection of small samples of either parched local soils, Ashe or debris from the aftermath of a fire or even tiny remnants, be it bones or perhaps even the remains of once treasured possessions. I am open to accept anything that on a small scale has potential to express the tragedy of these events. My artworks exist in the ephemeral realm and as such all items from the tiny dust particles of dirt to anything that holds significant personal value will be treated with intention and care and for the large part will be where possible return to their location of origin as part of the artworks devolution. For more information, please DM me. Stay safe and continue to be amazing Aussies, where and how best you can in our time of need. The kindest regards Sandii
21.01.2022 Cultural identity is chiselled out and astutely defined through the arts. This is undeniable and evident throughout global histories. Such actions dilute and deplete the arts community. How ill informed is our culturally lacking government. https://mumbrella.com.au/scott-morrison-abolishes-departmen

05.01.2022 Ground Zero. The smell of bushfire out there along with the devastated vegetation is overwhelming. But it is the eerie silence that stirs the emotions. This is native bushland that should be abundant with industrious inhabitants and a cacophony of noise. No evidence of mammals or reptiles. Some birds flying in and out but none nesting. This area is critical habitat for the endangered regent honeyeater and swift parrot. #newproject #notforprofit #bushfiresaustralia #australiaburns #australiandrought #globalclimatechange #wakeuptoclimatechangeaustralia #thisshitisreal
