17.01.2022 Hello everyone. I’ve had a few weeks away from Instagram and there are a lot of lovely new followers here (and amazing long time supporters and friends who are sticking like glue). Thank you so much for joining me, it really encourages and inspires me. So please, allow me to introduce myself... HI!! I am Kat, I am a wife to Steve, and mum of two great boys! I have 5 pet cows, a hand-raised sheep that thinks he is a human, 3 dogs, half a dozen hens, and 2 birds, and to top it ...off we have a gorgeous fluffy bunny too. I was raised in the country and had a few animals - sheep, a milk cow, chickens; being a country soul really became part of who I am today. When my husband and I had our first son we were living in a small regional township, but we wanted to have land and bring our kids up in the country with lots of fresh air. We dreamed of having space and animals around us, so we put our small home on the market and it sold in 3 days, then we were suddenly the proud owners of over 200 acres of bush and rough pasture in the middle of nowhere with a tiny tin shack. That was back in 2007, we still live in that tiny tin shack and absolutely love it at least 90% of the time. It is shabby, but it is home and most of the animals live in it with us or call the porch their home - yes, that includes the cows and sheep. Steve and I were professional wedding photographers and truly enjoyed doing that together. One day on the way home a consult, I was involved in a really bad car accident. While I was very lucky to not suffer major damage, I was left with damage to my spine and nerves causing chronic pain, weakness in my right arm, and almost constant migraine headaches - we had to make the very hard decision to close our business in 2017. I started Kat Loves Steve in 2018 as a way to find a creative outlet for myself! At the time I was just staring to recover from deep depression and being creative was a beautiful form of therapy. Since those early weeks, Kat Loves Steve has grown so much and I can only thank you, my awesome supportive clients, for purchasing these designs and flaunting them with such joy. Again, it is wonderful to have you here with me and my family.
