24.01.2022 A lot of people ask me "what is Puppy Culture" well this is an awesome example. Nine week old pups and a vacuum cleaner getting along. Puppy Culture maximises socilisation giving the pups the best possible start to their lives.

23.01.2022 Last game of group tug before Gumbo is the first to fly the coop tomorrow and head off to his new home.

22.01.2022 UPDATE: Jasper has found an amazing forever home!

22.01.2022 We are looking to re-home Katalina Rocksolid Jasper. He is a very high energy pup born 2/12/2018 making him 17 months old. His body shape is very slight, he stands 50cm at the shoulder, and he weighs around 14kgs. He would ideally suit a sporting or working home with other high energy dogs. He is only being re-homed after his first forever home found he was getting bored and needed a more structured job to do, which was more than they wanted. He is fantastic with people and o...ther high energy dogs but needs some training on how to refocus when other dogs are around. However, one on one he is responsive and handler-biddable, and has still retained some of his foundation tug/toy drive. He was raised using the Puppy Culture method and comes from health tested, hip and elbowed scored parents. He has been desexed and is currently being fed a raw diet. He is a very loving boy who needs someone to call his own, if you are genuinely interested please PM us here at Katalina Koolies for more details. See more

21.01.2022 EXCITING NEWS!!! This will be an awesome pairing (happening over the next few days) that should produce a litter of stellar drivey pups. **Please note, all pups from this litter will only be placed in highly active dog sports and/or stock working homes**... Please email all enquiries to: [email protected]

21.01.2022 Mr. Chilli from our Cajun Creole litter is now ready and waiting for his forever sport home. He has had a lot of socialization (including some recent dog sport events), toy/tug drive building, and has developed a great work focus for such a young pup. He is just turning 6 months old. Please contact Rachel Lawler for more detailed info on Chilli.

21.01.2022 Besides the cuteness overload of them turning into proper baby dogs, the Katalina CC boys had a very social weekend with several visitors and lots of handling. They also had their pen re-jigged so that they are stepping out of their bed and straight onto a litter tray. We have already had some success with them using it, and we will gradually move it further and further away as they get older. It is so much easier and cleaner to litter train, especially as the pups get bigger, more rambunctious, and start solids!

20.01.2022 Yet another play date for the pups. They are all tuckered out now...

20.01.2022 UPDATE: Due to the current coronaviris lock down rules we are force to reopen the extressions of interest. We still have interested parties in Canada but he may not make the cut if his toy drive does not improve. So we are now also looking for potenial herding homes. Taking expressions of interest for Katalina Rock Solid Jasper. He is 14 months old and needs to be rehomed due to no fault of his own. Jasper has been fully vaccinated and desexed. He was the pick of the litter ...for being very people orientated and topped his puppy test with flying colors. He was raised using the puppy culture method which he excelled at and was my personal favorite to teach. I believe he loves to run and is very high drive and needs to go to a very active home. I will provide more details as they come to hand as well as better photos. One last very important bit of information his parents are Melrose Piper and TJ Dusty. Piper has now been retired and her pups have gone on to be very successful at flyball, herding, disc, agility and much more. Please send your interest via PM. See more

19.01.2022 It is with a heavy heart we say goodbye to our beloved stud dog Nash. He was taken way to soon and will be deeply missed. With his passing we have been forced to rethink our breeding program. We ask you to please be patient as we make some important decisions as to our future.

18.01.2022 Morning swim for some of the pups..

17.01.2022 Morning swim take 2..

16.01.2022 STARTING SOLIDS!! This is meal #2 for the pups and they have taken to it like ducks to water. They are weaned onto raw, and this is now the 3rd generation of raw fed dogs in our breeding program something we are incredibly proud of! **The pups are also getting scent pairing with every meal, rotating between Clove, Birch, and Anise**

16.01.2022 Mr. Gumbo (now Riptide) met his new family yesterday. Sarah and her mum Claire drove all the way down from QLD to collect their little man. It was mutual love at first sight, and we can’t be happier that he is going to such an awesome home. He will eventually be joining his big (ACD) brother Rusty in the Flyball ring, and for those of you fellow Flyballers, keep your eyes open for handsome Riptide once he is up and racing with the Flyball Fanatics team.

16.01.2022 Only 1 week to go until D-day. Miss Jamba came down from the Central Coast last week, and has settled in at Katalina HQ in Kurrajong. She is getting daily dam swims and sniffy walks around the acreage. She is also demanding ALL THE BELLY RUBS!! **Any guesses as to how many pups she’s cooking?!**

15.01.2022 Riley and Jasper

14.01.2022 Like father, like son!

14.01.2022 A fun afternoon with the pups....

12.01.2022 Miss Jamba (TJ Piper x TJ Dusty) looking cute while assuming the nail trim position. Only a couple weeks to go until pups are due!

12.01.2022 **Something a little different we are doing with this litter** Here is the boys’ first time doing the Box Feeding Exercise, at 5 weeks and 3 days old. This is a strength and drive building exercise that pushes the pups to their best potential, nerve-wise, and builds food drive. The aim is to create a situation where there is some initial stress, in the form of a barrier challenge, that the pups have to overcome, to then receive their meal. The challenge is two-fold, as it is ...a height barrier, and once inside, a somewhat visually and spatially constricting barrier. For the next couple of weeks, this is the only way the pups will receive all their meals, except for their lunch time meaty bones for a good chewing session. Today, Gumbo was the first boy in, followed by Bayou, then Tabasco. Hurricane made it in, but quickly got out again, probably due to some discomfort with the confinement. Voodoo and Gator did not make it in, but came close. They will not get any food until their next meal time, again in the box, and we bet they will be diving in by then! Stay tuned.... https://youtu.be/Nr9Yh6tj0zk

11.01.2022 Katalina Dream time litter...

10.01.2022 IT’S HAPPENING!!! There have been 2 pups born so far, within 15 mins of each other. Both boys, 1 red merle, 1 choc and tan.

09.01.2022 Meet Y Not Iowa "Cricket", our latest addition to the Katalina family. Cricket will be DNA tested and PennHipped before breeding. We hope to have news of an expected litter later in the year.

09.01.2022 **TABASCO (now Chilli) HAS BEEN PLACED! He is in a home with close ties to this litter, so stay tuned for regular updates** PUPDATE!!! We are looking for expressions of interest for our little man Tabasco. He was originally ear-marked for an overseas home, but plans have recently changed, and he is now available to the right home in Australia. He is 9 weeks old, and will be ready for his new forever home very soon, at 10 weeks. He has great food drive, and also excellent t...oy/tug drive. He is an energetic little pup who will need an experienced dog sports/training home, ideally with an adult dog-social dog to help show him the ropes. If you believe you have the right experience to take on this little pocket rocket, please PM us and tell us why. We are happy to provide heaps more photos and videos of Mr. T to serious enquiries. **Mr T will NOT be available on a breeding contract**

08.01.2022 Someone has to say it! How beautiful are solid red Koolies.

08.01.2022 EXCITING UPDATE Jamba had her ultrasound this afternoon and it has been confirmed that she is indeed pregnant!! The vet could easily find at least 3 pups, but he didn’t go digging around for too long. So, the countdown officially begins to her due date on the 4th of October, give or take a day or two. See if you can spot the tiny flickering heartbeat that makes a brief appearance in this quick video.

06.01.2022 Katalina Jasper looking very happy and healthy with his new family.

05.01.2022 Saying good bye to Akuna and Bunji is hard and we are hoping they arrive in the USA safely. Will miss you guys alot xx

03.01.2022 Lazy afternoon continues....

03.01.2022 **EDIT** Please email all enquiries to: [email protected] We are pleased to announce that the mating between Jamba and Smudge was successful, and Jamba will have an ultrasound at the beginning of September to confirm she is indeed pregnant. In the meantime, here is a bio about each dog, so puppy applicants can learn a bit more about the parents: Jamba Bio:... Katalina Jamba is a chocolate and tan short coated Koolie with great structure and an athletic build. She is high drive, biddable, and handler focused. When in work mode, she is intense and very resilient under pressure. She absolutely loves to work, no matter what it is, and is highly intelligent, with the ability to learn new things easily and in only a few repetitions. So far we have done Agility foundation training together, and we have also trained and competed in Disc- specifically UpDog competitions. Jamba also LOVES jumping into the water after a toy, and we are looking at getting back into Dog Diving in the near future. Most recently she has shown great focus and persistence when exposed to scent work, so we are about to undertake that training as well. She was also tested on stock as a young pup and showed immense keenness and natural instinct straight away. Jamba has a lovely affectionate nature towards her human family, especially my children, and also the other dogs in our household she is always trying to get the boys to play zoomies games with her! Jamba is DNA health tested and she is a CEA carrier, so will only be bred to a CEA clear male. She is cleared of all other genetic diseases. Her PennHip X-rays came back with a fantastic score of 0.38 (anything 0.4 and less is the aim), and her elbow X-rays were graded excellent. She weighs 14.5kgs and is 51cms tall. Smudge Bio: Jem Smudge is a gorgeous medium haired red tri merle Koolie. He's 56cm tall and weighs 19.5kg. Smudge is a social butterfly who enjoys love from anyone who will give it. He goes to work at a cider company and keeps patrons entertained. Smudge is being trained to compete in a variety of sports including Agility, Nose Work, Obedience, Rally O, and most recently he's started some disc training. His owner was hoping to make his trialling debut this year, but it might be quite late in the season now because of Corona. Smudge’s training is coming along nicely and he picks things up quite well. He's a real foodie, but also loves a good game of tug or fetch. Smudge's movement is good and he has really nice natural muscle definition which is great for the longevity of his sporting career. Smudge has been PennHip scored with a great result of 0.32, one of the best for the breed so far. His elbow X-rays were also fantastic. Smudge has been heath tested and is clear of all testable genetic diseases.

02.01.2022 Katalina Koolies has finally got some awesome news! Introducing Y Not Iowa, he will make an excellent addition to our breeding program and we are looking forward to having him here very soon. We will keep you all updated on his arrival and how he is settling in.

02.01.2022 Katalina’s Pandemic (aka Pan Man), absolutely rocking a fantastic disc freestyle routine at only 20 months old. This young man has a bright future ahead of him, and has come so far already with his owner Jess KN’s awesome training skills. He is out of the 3rd and final TJ Piper x TJ Dusty litter.

01.01.2022 Crate training 2.0!! The pups are taking turns in pairs getting used to the vibrating simulation of a crate in a moving vehicle, while gnawing on some roo jerky, and there are also airplane noises playing in the background. These noises have actually become quite soothing to them, as they have had this everyday sounds CD played to them regularly since about 2 weeks of age.
